Chapter 214: The Highest Heaven

"What's wrong Peter?"

A sudden voice interrupted Peter's thoughts. Peter came to his senses and found that it was Luke Cage, with bandages on his upper body, looking at him.

"It's nothing, Luke." Peter shifted his position to make himself more comfortable in the bed. Their entire team was injured and now lying in the infirmary of the SHIELD helicarrier.

"Your face is full of things." Ava Ayala, the white tiger in the next bed, shook his head.

"Really?" Peter touched his face. "Is it so hard for me to keep it a secret?"

"Stop pretending to be so profound." Rising star Sam Alexander came over in a wheelchair and rolled his eyes.

"You're not frightened by that diving head, are you?"

"What? Of course not!" Peter quickly denied.

"Why is that?" Luke asked.

"I just..." Peter hesitated, not knowing whether he should speak out what was in his heart.

"Your heart is wavering." Iron Fist Daniel on the bed opposite suddenly spoke. He was the most seriously injured in the team, with multiple fractures all over his body. He was almost wrapped like a mummy, with only his head exposed.

"Are you worried about us?" Daniel asked tentatively.

"What!" Sam spoke before Peter could say anything, looking at Peter with disgust. "Really? Stop it, it's disgusting."

"Hey!" Peter glared at Sam.

"Stop swiping, Sam." Ava held her forehead helplessly. "Let Peter finish first."

Sam spread his hands, motioning for Peter to continue.

Peter scratched his hair and finally said in frustration: "I just, I just feel that you were injured so badly because of me, so I..."

"Peter!"

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and found Nick Fury standing at the door of the infirmary.

"Come here, I need to talk to you about something, the others can rest."

"I'll be right there." Peter looked at everyone awkwardly, secretly complaining about why Fury didn't come earlier, and wondering what Fury wanted to talk to him about.

"A multiverse crisis about Spider-Man?" Peter looked at the Avengers in front of him in shock.

"Yes." Tony nodded, then pointed to the monitor beside him. "But according to what that guy said, the crisis is over now."

"It's over?" Peter scratched his head. He had just felt a strong sense of mission and thought that there were other worlds waiting for him to save. He didn't expect that the mission would end before it even began.

"Although the crisis against you is over, another crisis against the world has begun." Fury waved his hand, the lights dimmed, and a three-dimensional image of Damons appeared in front of everyone.

"This guy's name is Damons, he's the brother of Kahn we captured," Fury explained.

"According to Kahn, this guy gained a new power, and used that power to kill his entire family. Now Kahn is the only one left alive."

"Why did he kill his family?" Peter asked puzzled.

"Because Damons wants to use Kahn's soul in exchange for a greater reward." Strange interrupted. He had more say in the matter of magic.

"Kahn speculated that his brother sacrificed his soul to a powerful being, gaining the power to kill their family. Now, Damons is prepared to sacrifice the souls of his entire family for even greater power." "By then, having tasted the sweetness of success, Damons won't necessarily decide whose souls he'll sacrifice."

"It sounds like the work of demons," Thor said with disgust.

"It would be fine if it was a demon." Strange sighed.

"Demons are at least familiar enemies, but the energy used by Damons is something none of us have ever seen. This means we might be facing an enemy we've never encountered before. This is what gives me the most headache."

"Can't we ask Kahn?" Peter raised his hand and asked.

"Unfortunately, Kahn doesn't know the full story either." Steve shook his head.

"He can only get information from fragments of what Damons said. What we just said is all he knows."

"But we're not completely without a solution." Fury pointed at Kahn on the monitor. "Damons' target is Kahn. As long as we protect Kahn, Damons will never be able to obtain his soul."

Kahn collapsed powerlessly on the restraint bed. After talking with S.H.I.E.L.D., he had been maintaining this low-energy mode. There was no way ordinary food could fill his stomach.

Kahn actually doesn't have to eat Spider-Man. He can absorb any energy from any living creature. Kahn also told S.H.I.E.L.D., but S.H.I.E.L.D. did not respond to him, so he had no choice but to endure it.

But Kahn knew that SHIELD would not just watch him starve to death. Who knew if Damons had the means to summon his soul from a distance? If he died and Damons summoned him, it would be hard to say what Damons' next target would be.

But Kahn waited and waited, but SHIELD did not serve him a meal. However, he did receive an unexpected guest.

"Kahn~."

A distant voice came, and Kahn thought he was fainted from hunger. He opened his eyes and found that he was no longer in the S.H.I.E.L.D. cell, but in a space he had never seen before.

The purple sky and the floating rocks are the new dimension opened up by Yang Le, but Kahn doesn't know it.

"Where is this?" Kahn turned his head subconsciously. When he came to his senses, he found that he could move and the restraints used to restrict his freedom had disappeared.

"Kahn."

The voice rang out again. Kahn turned around and found a huge skull burning with purple flames floating in the sky. It was obviously calling him.

"Who are you?" Kahn asked, and then he found that the huge skull in front of him looked somewhat familiar, but he had never seen him before.

No! It wasn't the skull that looked familiar, but the energy it emitted. It was the energy that Damons had used.

"Damons' power comes from you?!"

"That's right!" Yang Le said slowly.

"I am the source of your foolish brother's power. I am the master of this dimension. I am the dimensional demon god - Supreme Heaven."

"Supreme Heaven..." Kahn murmured softly, searching the name carefully in his mind, but found nothing.

That’s right, Supreme Heaven is the name Yang Le gave to the hero who was a fusion of Anor and Tornado Turtle. This Supreme Heaven certainly does not refer to a series of skins in a certain online game, but the ancient Hebrew definition of heaven.

The ancient Hebrews believed that there were ten layers of heaven, and the highest layer, the tenth layer, was the Most High Heaven.

Yang Le was named this, firstly because he was in charge of a new dimension, and secondly because his current strength surpassed that of the gods.
