Chapter 161 Quarrel
Chapter 161 Quarrel
With the abundant resources of Xavier College, Peter and his friends were able to indulge themselves for once after many years.
No matter what they were hiding in their hearts, they put it aside temporarily tonight and enjoyed the rare joy.
However, everyone still knew their limits. Even Peter and the middle-aged craftsman knew not to drink too much. After drinking one or two cans of beer, they put down the wheat juice and drank ordinary drinks.
Peter was holding a cup of Coke, sitting in the corner, watching the magical twins eating heartily, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised, looking like a father watching his children.
"Do you mind if I sit next to you?" Moonstone came over with a tray of food. After taking a shower and changing into new clothes, Moonstone looked beautiful and charming.
Especially the gorgeous blonde hair, which complements the fair skin, is really dazzling like a gem.
"Of course I don't mind."
Peter narrowed his eyes slightly, and in a trance he seemed to see another graceful figure, but that person should have red hair.
He shook his head, getting rid of the thoughts, and looked at Moonstone in confusion.
"What's wrong?" Moonstone chose a suitable distance to sit down, and seemed to lift her hair unintentionally. A familiar and beautiful smell wafted out and lingered at Peter's nose.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a woman's body odor, it's just the smell of shampoo. As for why it's familiar, it's because the smell on Peter's body is the same as Moonstone's, and they use the same bath products.
"It's okay, I just remembered some old memories." Peter took a sip of Coke. The strong carbonic acid stimulated his tongue. He slowly exhaled. He still preferred Coke to adult drinks.
Moonstone didn't say anything, but just sat aside and silently drank a sip of Coke. She frowned slightly at the stimulation of the carbonation.
"I thought you wouldn't like this drink." Peter, whose head was no longer hurting, revealed his talkative nature again and couldn't help but start a conversation.
"I'm very curious about what image I have in your mind." Moonstone closed her legs, hugged her slender and well-proportioned legs in her arms, rested her head on her knees, and looked at Peter with her head tilted.
"Uh...a noble lady who attends high-end cocktail parties?" Peter said uncertainly.
"Why is it a question?" Moonstone felt amused. He pinched the rim of the cup with two fingers and shook the paper cup gently.
Peter was speechless. He realized that he actually didn't understand this comrade-in-arms who he had been with for many years. There was no way that the previous headaches and children were enough for him to deal with. He really didn't have the extra energy to think about other things.
The two of them remained silent. Peter was embarrassed and didn't know what to say, while Moonstone didn't know what to think. Her golden hair slowly slid down, covering her beautiful face, making Peter unable to read her thoughts.
"You know what, Peter."
After a while, Moonstone broke the silence first, stopping the Spider-Man who wanted to make a joke and maintaining the ambiguous atmosphere.
"I just kept thinking, it would be great if I could keep going like this."
Moonstone moved her body and slightly raised her feet. As a mature woman, Moonstone looked a little cute when she made this girlish movement. Even Peter's heart beat faster now.
"That's right." Spider-Boy seemed a little dull at this time, and it was unclear whether it was intentional or unintentional.
"Sufficient food and water, a warm shelter from the wind and rain, and complete equipment. It would be great if this could continue forever."
"That's not what I meant." Moonstone interrupted Peter.
"Don't you see it?" "See what?" Peter's eyes were hidden in the shadows, making it impossible to see what he was thinking.
"Franklin and Valeria." Moonstone whispered the twins' names, obviously not wanting them to hear.
"Don't tell me you haven't noticed. Those two kids haven't given up their plan yet. They still want to cure their parents."
Peter said nothing, but just put the cup to his lips, not drinking, but holding it silently.
"You know that's impossible. We must stop them. If they still want to do what they did before..."
"What if you still think about the past?"
A voice suddenly broke into their conversation. They looked up and found that it was none other than the magical twins who were being talked about, and the one who was speaking was none other than the younger sister, Valeria.
"Hey! Little Val!" Peter jumped up from the ground and stood between Valeria and Moonstone. He was obviously afraid that the child named Mastermind, actually the Human Torch, would quarrel with Moonstone.
"How's it going? Are you full? Even though it's all canned food, I think it's pretty good. Wow, your clothes are really nice. Did you find them yourself?"
The incoherence between his words made Franklin unable to maintain his serious expression. Even Valeria seemed to be about to break down. After all, they had not seen such a lively Peter for a long time. The serious impression was broken, which had a significant effect at this time.
Peter breathed a sigh of relief in his heart, thinking that he had gotten away with it, but the Moonstone behind him spoke.
"If you still try to sneak out like before, you will definitely kill everyone here."
Moonstone came behind Peter at some point, and with a gentle push, pushed Peter aside and confronted Valeria.
"This is terrible." Yang Le was originally discussing Biomitrix-related issues with the craftsman, but his thoughts were interrupted by the sudden quarrel. He turned around and saw this headache-inducing scene.
"Sigh~" The craftsman couldn't help but hold his forehead, obviously he also had a headache.
"Opportunity always comes with risk." Franklin also participated in the argument, and the brother and sister were of the same mind on this matter.
"To save everyone, we must put ourselves in danger, just as my father has always done."
"Come on, Franklin." Moonstone was dismissive of Franklin's statement.
"We all know that's impossible."
"Why not?" Valeria asked.
"Because they are dead!" Moonstone suddenly burst out, interrupting Valeria.
"The cells of those things were already dead when they transformed. How can you use medicine to revive a dead person? How can you two geniuses not understand that the dead cannot be revived by medicine?"
The explosion of the moonstone brought about a period of silence. Peter, who wanted to stop him, could not utter a word. The craftsmen sitting in the distance were also silent. It was obvious that they thought the same thing in their hearts.
Valeria looked around and found that except for Yang Le, everyone's expressions were so strange, numb, and resigned. To Valeria, this was the same as death.
It looks like plans may have to change.
