Chapter 1298 A Night at the Museum
Chapter 1298 A Night at the Museum (3)
With Stargirl's protective shield, Robin had time to observe the dinosaur skeletons that were launching continuous attacks.
From the outside, it looks like an ordinary Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil, no different from the surrounding fossils. The only difference is the red light shining in the fossil's eye sockets.
"Raven!"
The raven, who had been summoned, immediately understood Robin's meaning and quickly replied, "There is indeed a magical fluctuation; someone is hiding in the shadows controlling this skeleton."
"Can you break the spell?" Robin pressed.
“I can try.” Raven spread her arms, and as her cloak billowed, a purple light gradually shone from her body, as if she were coated with a purple film.
Soon, a purplish-black raven flew out from her hands and flew straight toward the Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil.
The crow flew straight into the mouth of the Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil, and then a burst of purple light erupted from the gaps in the bones, followed by a loud "boom".
The energy exploded within the Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil, and countless bone fragments fell from the sky like fireworks, temporarily averting the crisis.
"If I had known that your dispelling magic was like this, I wouldn't have let you do it this way."
Robin looked at the tooth fragments at his feet and muttered with a twitching mouth, "Now look what's happened, the exhibits in the exhibition hall have been destroyed before the problem was even solved."
“This is the most effective method.” Raven, however, was unconvinced, after all, she did not understand the value of these things.
"Compared to these inanimate objects, I still believe that living people deserve to be protected more."
"You're right, you've taught me a lesson." Robin hadn't expected his joke to elicit such a serious response.
"You're welcome. This is what I should do."
Raven's rigid answer made Robin realize how endearing the former was. Of course, this feeling was more like that of a brother to a sister, completely devoid of romantic feelings.
"So what do we do now?" Stargirl kicked a fossil fragment. It was already shattered like this, so there was no need to be careful anymore.
"Alright, stop kicking! Maybe we can still fight back!" Robin quickly stopped Stargirl's actions. "I'll report this to the Justice League; let them handle it."
"Then you may have reported more than just this one."
Raven's sudden remark caught their attention, and they both looked in the direction of the former, only to see that the fossils had all broken free of their supports and ropes and were moving as if they were alive.
"Superboy, Martian Girl, this is Robin!"
Without any hesitation, Robin immediately opened the communication channel to call her teammates.
"We're in trouble here and need your help."
However, no matter how Robin called out, all he could hear from his communicator was a series of static sounds. Keep in mind that the Justice League's communication equipment was also cutting-edge, using Batman's satellite.
Normally, there shouldn't be a signal failure. If this happens, it's definitely because someone is tampering with the signal.
Fortunately, the Young Justice League has other means of communication.
'Superboy, Martian Girl, I need backup!'
"I'm in trouble here too. Hold on a little longer, I'll be right there."
Superboy responded quickly, followed by Martian Girl.
"Me too! The exhibits in the hall suddenly came to life! We've been attacked by mummies!"
'It seems we're facing the same crisis,' Robin immediately realized. 'In that case, the mastermind will soon make their move against us.'
As expected, just as Robin had guessed, Raven, who was on guard nearby, changed his expression slightly and warned, "Be careful, I sense a very evil magical power."
"A very keen sense of children."
Suddenly, a thick red fog swirled above the museum's star attraction, the Patago dinosaur fossil. Gradually, the fog dissipated, revealing two figures, one large and one small.
"It's a witch child!"
The newcomer was one of the leaders of the Illuminati, but he seemed to be dissatisfied with Robin's introduction of him.
"And Mr. Tickel, don't forget the kid next time, of course, when you're still alive and see us again."
"what!"
As if to echo the words of the witch child, the tabby cat Tickel, which was floating in the air, transformed into a spiny dragon and kept breathing on Robin and the other two.
"It seems Mr. Ticker is also very dissatisfied with you, and he intends to personally teach you a lesson."
"Teach us a lesson?" Stargirl scoffed. "With the help of this little kitten?"
"Would you like to know if you try it?"
The witch child revealed a playful smile, and with a casual wave of his hand, Tickel was once again surrounded by a thick red fog. When it reappeared, it had transformed from a tabby cat the size of an arm into a magnificent tiger the size of a calf.
"Roar!"
With a roar, Tiker swooped down from the sky, charging towards the three people on the ground.
"Promise me, Stargirl, don't learn those things you shouldn't from Kid Flash."
Robin subtly implied that Stargirl was being sarcastic, and the latter, of course, understood and, with a sigh, raised her Star Staff and swung it at the charging Tyker.
However, the expected home run did not occur. Tickel nimbly dodged Stargirl's swing, fully demonstrating the agility of a cat, even when magnified several times.
"Roar!"
Tiker roared again, and this time it truly seemed like a tiger, and with the surrounding theme, it was practically a saber-toothed tiger reborn.
"Get out of my way, you beast!"
Raven's hands were enveloped in purple energy, and she released a human-sized raven that attacked Tickel's back at incredible speed.
However, the wizarding child in the sky wasn't just watching the show. After all, Tikel was the anchor point that allowed him to descend to the human world, and there couldn't be the slightest mistake.
The witch boy waved his hands gently, like a conductor leading an orchestra, and a protective spell appeared out of thin air, blocking Tickel's back.
The crow-shaped energy collided with the barrier, and the two colors of energy fought fiercely for a short time without gaining the upper hand. However, as the range of the witch's finger movements increased, the red gradually overwhelmed the purple.
"I can't hold on much longer!" the raven said with difficulty.
Upon seeing this, Robin immediately pulled out three explosive darts and threw them at the witch boy in the air. However, they were blocked by a dinosaur fossil before they had traveled halfway.
Looking at the exploded fragments, Robin no longer felt any pity. He was quickly thinking of a way to break the deadlock when…
"Fireworks!"
With a sharp cry, blazing flames pierced the dim museum, swirling around the witch child like a fire dragon, waiting for the enemy to slip up and be devoured.
Robin breathed a sigh of relief; reinforcements had finally arrived.
