Chapter 1285 The Phantom Stranger

Chapter 1285 The Phantom Stranger
The infamous Phantom Stranger.

Of course, this fame refers to the readers of DC Comics. In the DC universe, Phantom Stranger is far less famous than his colleague Ghost.

However, this does not mean that the Phantom Stranger is unimportant. On the contrary, he, like the Ghost, is one of God's gloves.

However, the Phantom Stranger's role is far less clear than that of God's Wrath. He is an agent, like an angel in mythology, conveying something like a divine oracle to certain qualified people.

You can see him in the lead-up to almost every major event in the DC Universe; he acts like a prophet, alerting the heroes to something bad happening.

In short, the Phantom Stranger is like a harbinger of doom; once he appears in front of you, nothing good is sure to happen.

And usually, the people he contacts are at the center of the incident.

It is precisely for this reason that the Phantom Stranger is the person Yang Le is most curious about in the DC Universe, and also the person he least wants to encounter, without exception.

The Phantom Stranger is incredibly mysterious. There are at least five origin stories alone, and the key point is that his origins are not all like other heroes whose reboots led to chaos.

Yang Le recalled that three or four of the Phantom Stranger's origin stories came from the same comic book, which meant that the chaotic origin was one of the character's settings.

This is to highlight the character's characteristics: mystery. Just like his code name, mystery is his defining characteristic.

After all, it can't be that the editor was out of their mind and made a mistake, right?

"So it's the famous Phantom Stranger."

As the saying goes, the right medicine is the right medicine. Even if Yang Le didn't want to see the other party, he knew that the trouble that might follow had nothing to do with Phantom Stranger.

“The word ‘famous’ doesn’t apply to me at all.” The Phantom Stranger adjusted his hat. “You’ve met that person, so you probably know what will happen if I come looking for you.”

“I know, Crow,” Yang Le said sarcastically, using a stereotype. “Tell me, what big thing is going to happen?”

"The son of the Third Palace is about to return to Earth from Azeroth." The Phantom Stranger said this earth-shattering news in a very calm tone.

Trigon is one of the most powerful demons in the DC Universe, and also one of the strongest beings in the DC Universe.

The birth of the Three Palace Demon originated from an unintentional but inevitable result, which is related to Azeroth that Phantom Stranger just mentioned. Don't misunderstand, this Azeroth does not refer to a world that players have protected countless times in a game.

In the DC Universe, Azeroth represents a superdimensional space filled with magic.

A group of people also gathered on Azeroth. They were transcendent practitioners who, after a long period of training, decided to completely abandon the darkness and evil in their hearts.

These negative abilities were all cast into a dimension called the Netherworld Forbidden Land. And as in most works, it's impossible for so many negative abilities to gather in one place without causing trouble.

This is still an entire dimension of negative energy, not to mention that this negative energy itself is dominated by the emotions of intelligent beings. Gradually, this enormous and almost immeasurable energy developed its own consciousness.

Subsequently, a group of cultists used a half-baked summoning spell to attract the attention of the negative energy.

This was truly a godsend; the negative energy, seeing this, immediately responded to the cultists' call and became pregnant in a woman who was to be sacrificed.

Then the Demon of the Three Palaces was born, and as soon as he was born as an infant, he killed everyone present, including the woman who gave birth to him.

Afterwards, Sannomiya conquered that dimension in just over a decade, becoming the renowned Sannomiya Demon. However, this did not satisfy Sannomiya Demon's bottomless appetite, and his eyes naturally turned to other universes.

However, there are naturally many limitations to such an evil and powerful being descending into other universes, and Sannomiya is no exception.

Therefore, he would respond to the call of some cultists, then have intercourse with suitable members of the cult, have them bear his offspring, and then use the offspring to bring about his own descent.

In general, if the Three Palaces Demon fully descends, there's basically no chance of winning; you can just wait to surrender.

"The daughter of the Third Princess?" Yang Le stopped what he was doing. "Rachel?"

“It seems you do know quite a few secrets of the universe.” Phantom Stranger nodded. “That’s right. The goddess of Azeroth is dead. Having lost its greatest backer, Azeroth felt it could no longer protect Rachel from the Trinity, so it banished her from Azeroth.”

“Those guys.” Yang Le revealed a mocking smile. “It’s clearly because of their irresponsibility that the Three Palace Demons were born, causing suffering to some people who shouldn’t have to suffer like this.”

"I never imagined that they would be driven away by a little girl just because they feared Sannomiya's power? Have they truly expelled the darkness and evil from their bodies?"

"This behavior is even worse than those fathers who disappear after buying milk."

The Phantom Stranger remained noncommittal; his moral compass prevented him from participating in the hellish joke that had just occurred.

"So?" Yang Le turned around completely, facing the enigmatic stranger shrouded in mystery.

"Are you telling me all this so I can deal with the Three Palace Demon?"

Honestly, even Yang Le wasn't confident of victory against the Trinity Demon. In his estimation, only Superman X and Stasis in the Omnitrix had the ability to single-handedly defeat the former.

The Clock King might be able to work, but Yang Le wasn't sure if the timing would actually have an impact on the Three Palaces Demon.

“Not necessarily.” Phantom Stranger shook his head. “The conditions for Trigon to descend into this universe are actually very demanding. As long as you don’t let Rachel be bewitched by him, it will be fine.”

There are two reasons why I approached you.

"First, you have met that person and know many secrets that ordinary people do not know. Contacting you can save a lot of time."

"Secondly, you are very experienced in taking care of children. After all, so many problem children have been well-behaved under your care."

Yang Le glanced at Komanantan in the life support pod. Both of Phantom Stranger's reasons were to the point, and he didn't refute them at all.

"Alright then," Yang Le conceded. "If putting in a little effort can save a lot of trouble, then taking care of another child isn't a bad idea."

Given the choice between the Demonic Descent of the Three Palaces and raising a child, Yang Le decisively chose the latter.

“However, there’s something you should also be aware of, Mr. Yang.” The Phantom Stranger’s body began to twist.

“Rachel has just left Azeroth and is unfamiliar with everything on Earth, but as she continues to provide protection, she may send messages to some people with sufficient magical power, which will likely attract many interested parties.”
