Chapter 1276 On the Submarine

Ultimately, the Young Justice League's mission ended in failure.

They failed to bring back their companion, Young Hero Hai, and watched helplessly as he went astray and followed their enemy.

This was a huge blow to everyone, especially Robin and the others who witnessed the whole thing; almost everyone became withdrawn and isolated after returning.

Even the composed Robin couldn't fully recount the mission details, so Yang Le ended up taking on the task.

After all, he was supposed to discuss the details of this mission with Batman and the others.

The mission can be considered a success so far. Judging from Black Manta's expression, he probably believes that Aquaman is his son.

He swallowed hard. It would be a lie to say that Hai Shaoxia wasn't nervous. After all, they were deep inside the enemy's territory. If anything went wrong, he would definitely be torn to pieces.

However, Hai Shaoxia's superior qualities allowed him to quickly calm down, and with a gloomy look in his eyes, he followed Black Manta's steps.

He was supposed to portray someone who was abandoned and aggressive towards everything around him, but at first he didn't know how to play that role.

It wasn't until Yang Le showed him a video, supposedly of his newly adopted boy, whom Yang Le referred to as Jason, that things changed. The video was a recording of Jason being interrogated in the Gotham City Police Department's interrogation room.

Yang Le briefly explained Jason's experience to Hai Shaoxia, which helped him understand the boy's mindset and how to play his role well.

To be fair, Sea Boy does have some talent; at least no one here with Black Manta has noticed anything unusual about him yet.

Black Manta personally extracted the young hero's blood and placed it into a machine.

After a brief analysis, the results brought Hai Shaoxia a sigh of relief.

Black Manta's expression softened slightly, but he still didn't completely trust Young Hero, after all, this was only their first close encounter. Black Manta waved his hand, signaling his crew to disarm.

"You should be aware of your own situation, right?"

"They're here!" Young Master Hai's eyes flickered, then he nodded.

"It's good that you understand. I don't expect you to be able to quickly switch out of your original identity, but you must understand who put you in this predicament today."

"And who exactly pulled you out of this predicament today?"

“I know,” Young Hero Hai said sinisterly. “It’s the Sea King. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have been fooled like a fool for so many years!”

Black Manta nodded to himself. Deception is indeed the hardest thing for people to accept, whether they are good or bad.

Unlike those villains, Black Manta knows he's a bad guy, and he never denies it. It's because of this that he's able to do so many despicable things.

"Very good, I hope you can be consistent in word and deed." After saying that, Black Manta ordered his crew to take Sea Boy away.

The crew led the young hero to the accommodations arranged for him, a single dormitory room.

"This is your place. You can tell me if you need anything. I'm right next door."

After saying that, the crew member left without looking back, leaving Hai Shaoxia alone standing at the dormitory entrance.

Hai Shaoxia pushed open the door and walked in, standing at the entrance and looking around at the decorations of the entire dormitory.

The dormitory can be described as simple: inside there is only a bed, a set of desk and chair, and the rest are a wardrobe and a cabinet for equipment.

The details reveal that this place is usually uninhabited, which explains why it has nothing but the basic necessities.

After entering the room, Hai Shaoxia went straight to the bedside and sat down. He didn't dare to contact Yang Le and the others immediately because he didn't know how many eavesdropping and surveillance devices were in the room.

Furthermore, what that crew member just said also illustrates one thing: his room was next to the other crew members' quarters, and such a close distance meant that whatever he wanted to do was under someone else's surveillance.

This was the spy manual that Yang Le had told him. The former had already told him that in the early stages of a spy mission, he must remain silent and never contact them unless it was something earth-shattering.

Hai Shaoxia wasn't stupid, but at this moment, even if he wanted to contact someone, he had no chance. Silence was his only option now.
