Chapter 1238 Winter Soldier Roy Haber
Chapter 1238 Winter Soldier Roy Harper
This suggestion was the result of Yang Le's consideration.
Yang Le discovered that unlike Batman and his crew, he didn't have someone he could boss around.
Even for small matters, he had to personally handle everything. Was it because he was responsible? No, it was because Yang Le really had no one else to rely on.
There are many things that are not suitable for the people around him to know. Just like Alfred in Batman, Yang Le needs someone who can help him carry out his plans and discuss some unpleasant things with him.
Damian was originally very suitable for this position, after all, he had witnessed darkness since birth, but because of his longing for his father's love, he did not fall into depravity but instead turned his heart towards the light.
This is his strength, but also Damian's weakness. Because he cares too much about Batman, he can't be Yang Le's assistant.
Yang Le's second choice was Jason Todd. Although it would be easy to find the latter, Jason was about the same age as Pulse at the time, which was obviously not a good choice to be an assistant.
Just as Yang Le was struggling with this, he suddenly realized that Roy seemed like a good option as well.
As mentioned before, Roy doesn't know 99% of the people in his social circle, and because of William, his current situation is quite awkward.
Actually, this isn't just a psychological issue for him; even Green Arrow himself didn't realize that he was actually closer to William than Roy.
There's no way around it; even Oliver himself spends more time with William. It's not just a matter of time and affection growing stronger over time.
Luo Yizhen holds the legitimate identity, and it is precisely because of this legitimate identity that his situation is so awkward.
He is clearly the real one, but because the people around him and the counterfeiters have developed feelings for him, his existence seems somewhat superfluous.
Oliver himself is sentimental, but at this moment he doesn't know how to get along with Roy, and Yang Le thinks that taking the latter away at this time is a good choice.
This not only alleviates the awkwardness but also gives everyone a buffer period. Once the awkward period is over, their relationship might even improve.
After all, distance makes the heart grow fonder.
However, Yang Le did not discuss this matter with Green Arrow beforehand, as he believed that Green Arrow was not mentally sound at the moment and that talking to him might take a long time.
They drag their feet and are so indecisive.
Going directly to Roy would be a different story. He's not stupid; as someone at the center of the storm, he can intuitively feel his awkward situation. Otherwise, he wouldn't have just lost his temper with Green Arrow and William.
The venting I just did was actually an experience of feeling insecure.
Roy was stunned when he heard Yang Le's suggestion. After a brief moment of thought, he made his own decision.
"Okay, I'll follow you."
"Don't make us sound like thugs or a street gang." Yang Le rolled his eyes. "Since you've agreed, that makes things easier. Don't worry, I'll contact Green Arrow."
As Yang Le spoke, he walked over to a briefcase, picked it up, and tossed it onto the table in front of Roy.
"Open it and take a look, this is your new uniform."
Roy opened the briefcase, inside which lay a set of clothes. He reached out and picked one up, discovering it was a tactical vest.
After taking out all the clothes inside, Roy discovered that the new uniform was not the classic superhero bodysuit, but rather a seemingly ordinary tactical outfit.
A black stab-proof lining vest, a tactical vest, a multi-functional belt, military-style red and black camouflage trousers, a pair of military boots, and a breathing mask that covers the entire face. It looks ordinary, but you can tell from the touch that the material of the clothes is not ordinary.
"Try them on. I made them based on the data from your medical examination, so there shouldn't be any errors."
Hearing Yang Le say this, Luo Yi didn't hesitate. He immediately tore off his hospital gown, revealing his slender frame, and put the clothes on himself one by one.
Roy's outfit was a fusion of the Winter Soldier and Arkham Knight styles by Yang Le, as both styles are military and easily blended together.
The entire suit is comfortable and durable. It looks thin but is actually puncture-proof and bulletproof. Unless it is a large-caliber weapon, it is impossible to harm the wearer.
With the addition of a robotic arm, it's not impossible to fight against some superhumans if used properly.
Roy quickly put on his uniform. To be honest, if William wore this outfit, he would probably look very handsome, but Roy wearing it now looked like he was rewarding the captain.
There's no way around it; even Superman would become skin and bones after being in a life support pod for so long, let alone an ordinary person like Roy.
“Your physical condition is very poor right now.” Yang Le leaned forward and pinched Roy’s other arm, and sure enough, he couldn’t feel anything but bones.
"I will make adjustments for you during this period and try to get you back to your peak condition within a month. You can take advantage of this time to do some rehabilitation."
"Remember, thorough preparation is for future success."
Roy nodded thoughtfully. Yang Le could tell that Roy was itching to cause trouble for the Illuminati, but perhaps because he was indebted to them, Roy was still willing to listen to him.
"I don't have a base on Earth big enough. Honestly, America is being hollowed out by superheroes and supervillains. I could probably dig a secret base out of my own backyard."
Yang Le made a couple of complaints before getting back to the main topic.
"Over the next period of time, I will take you to my base in the universe. Judging from the timeline, it should be almost completed. You can enjoy comprehensive training there."
"Whatever your task is, I will complete it perfectly."
Roy didn't know how to repay Yang Le, so he could only make a verbal promise. The latter simply waved his hand to indicate that there was no need to say more.
Although it sounds strange, what Yang Le wanted was for Luo Yi to be loyal, at least for the latter to be willing to cover up for him when he did something wrong.
To achieve this, it's impossible not to treat Roy well. You can't expect a horse to run without feeding it. There's probably no such logic in the world.
"By the way, do you want to think of a new code name?" Yang Le suddenly asked. "Or do you still want to use the code name Kuaishou?"
“That’s not impossible. William’s codename is Red Arrow now, and no one is using the codename Quickhand anymore.”
"Let's forget about it." Roy gripped his mechanical hand, looking awkward no matter how you looked at it.
"I don't have any good ideas at the moment. Do you have any suggestions?"
"How about the Winter Soldier?" Yang Le suggested, with a selfish motive.
“Winter Soldier?” Roy paused for a moment. “That’s certainly a good name.”
