Chapter 1207 The Reach's Intrigue

In fact, Batman's principles are all aimed at Earthlings; his no-kill principle doesn't apply to races different from his own.

However, Batman isn't the kind of killer who indiscriminately murders aliens. The alien creatures he's killed the most so far are Parademons, and I don't need to explain what Parademons are, right?

If Azmith were to see a Parademon, he might jump up in anger; he despises such blasphemous creatures the most.

"Is it convenient for you there?" Yang Le asked in return. "If it's convenient, I can tell you the information I've obtained first."

“Go ahead and tell me, I’m listening,” Batman replied. “Thanks to your bio-EMP, we’ve already rescued most of the Justice League members who were being controlled.”

"To be honest, the Young Justice League is moving even faster than we expected. They have already taken control of at least 20 Justice League members, and it has only been less than a day."

"It just goes to show that people are completely unguarded around their own people," Yang Le said, trying to salvage the situation for his fallen comrades, before sharing the information he knew.

It turns out that the Reach's goal was not simply to rule Earth. Through intelligence gathering in multiple star systems, they discovered that there were far more superhumans on Earth than on other planets.

Although the reason is unclear, the Zerg of the Reach felt that it would be a waste not to make good use of the resources, so they moved their target from other planets to Earth.

However, due to the fact that the Reach headquarters is too far from Earth, the main force is secretly invading other star systems, and they do not want to attract the attention of the Green Lantern Corps, the cosmic police, among other reasons.

This allowed for the deployment of only a small advance force, laying the foundation for a more flexible strategy to facilitate the arrival of the main force later.

Although it was called an advance force, this squad actually gathered a lot of the Reach's elite forces. For example, Black Beetle was indeed one of the strongest in the Reach.

Because of their Martian origins, the green beetle is well-suited to be a spy, and even the unassuming red beetle is actually an elite force that can be named.

Putting aside their direct combat capabilities for the moment, the fact that several high-ranking scientists from the Reach were brought along shows that the Reach are taking this operation against Earth very seriously.

Furthermore, the Zerg of the Reach had already made contact with the Illuminati on Earth, and the two sides signed a treaty.

The Illuminati will help the Reacher complete their plans against superhumans on Earth, and the Reacher will provide the Illuminati with technological and other assistance.

According to the original plan of the Reach, the Illuminati would take control of the Justice League before their arrival, and then manipulate the main members of the Justice League to commit crimes on other planets and become wanted criminals in space.

This is the most important first step. After that, it doesn't matter what the Illuminati wants the controlled Justice League members to do. Of course, it would be best if they could control all the Justice League members, which would save them from all the subsequent operations and allow them to take over Earth directly.

Of course, if the Justice League breaks free from control, the Reach insectoids could then descend upon Earth as friendly aliens and reveal all their dirty secrets to the ignorant masses.

This would cause the Justice League to gradually lose credibility among the masses, and their actions would be constrained at every turn. Eventually, the Reach would be able to gradually gain control of Earth by secretly using food.

This is why the Zerg of Reach want to build food factories on Earth. They will add an alien substance to these foods to gradually control the humans.

Holy crap! Ice! This alien substance is somewhat addictive, but its main benefit is that it can help the Reach find latent or overt superhumans.

The Reach's original intention was to transform these superhumans into war machines suitable for invasion, making them another type of weapon besides the scarabs, in order to enhance their own strength.

The Zerg of Reach discovered that although the combat strength of naturally gifted superhumans is not as stable as that of the Scarab Warriors, there is no guarantee that a few superhumans powerful enough to form an army on their own will emerge.

While the Reach's military strength is composed of multiple powerful scarab warriors, they lack a single, decisive super-powerful individual, making them unable to compete with the truly powerful beings in the universe.

According to the Black Beetle's memories, the Reach's ambitions are enormous; they even considered dethroning Darkseid. It's hard to say whether they have the courage or are just a toad trying to eat a swan.

However, the Reach Zerg's plan failed at the very first step because of Yang Le and Canned King. The Reach envoy never expected that his well-intentioned move would backfire so badly.

"What are your thoughts on the Reach insectoids?" Batman asked after a moment of silence.

"I think they're delusional," Yang Le scoffed. "Leaving aside Apokolips' terrifying strength, just consider the members of the Illuminati—how many of them are easy to deal with?"

Yang Le patted the list of Illuminati members that Black Beetle had given him.

“Vandal Savage, Ressaugu, Queen Bee, Witch Child, you and I both know that the Illuminati can’t just have these few people. It seems that our old adversaries are not entirely loyal to the Reach Zerg.”

"The Illuminati has its own agenda. They probably don't just want to obtain technology from the Zerg in the Reach. They probably want to achieve some other goal through them."

"Clearly, the Reach insectoids are just one part of the Illuminati's plan," Batman said confidently.

“Although it might alert them, I think we should try to arrest a member of the Illuminati,” Yang Le suggested.

"I will think about it."

Although Batman's words were ambiguous, Yang Le could tell from his tone that Batman had taken his words to heart.

"But before that, we need to finish what we have on hand, and soon we will be able to rescue all the Justice League members."

"Are you sure?" Yang Le pressed. "We don't want to let a single one or two slip through the net."

“No, Damian provided the key he got from Luther. I can now reverse-locate all the biochips using the control chips I have, which is much more convenient and faster than the method you provided.”

Yang Le vaguely sensed the pride in Batman's tone. He chuckled and decided not to argue with a father at this moment. Instead, he said one last thing before hanging up.

"Then Illuminati is in your hands. I'll continue keeping an eye on the Reach Zerg."
