Chapter 1138
"What are you calling for, Michelangelo?"
Raphael gave Michelangelo an impatient tap, and the latter rubbed his head before pointing to Yang Le's cell.
"That guy spoke."
"He spoke?" Raphael looked in the direction Michelangelo was pointing, suspiciously. "Could you have misheard, or did the oxygen deprivation earlier cause some damage to your brain?"
“You’re the one with a problem!” Michelangelo rolled his eyes at Raphael. “I really heard you.”
Leonardo and Donatello were also drawn by the noise of the argument. They didn't know what the latter was doing, but the former had been passing the time and calming his mind through meditation, so he didn't know what was going on.
"What are you two arguing about?" Leonardo was getting a little angry. After all, he was only fifteen years old. He might be more mature than his brothers, but he was still just a child, and his emotional threshold was naturally not very high.
"I'm asking you a question. Where are you all from?"
Just then, Yang Le's voice came over, successfully preventing an argument from breaking out.
The four brothers looked at each other, and finally, Leonardo da Vinci, who had calmed down, stepped forward.
“We are from Earth. Listen, friends, we have no intention of interfering in the war between your two planets, but we need Dr. Fucitold’s time machine to travel back to Earth.”
"You want a time machine too?" Yang Le shook his head with a smile. "I heard you were already with Dr. Fukittod, so how did you get caught?"
"It's a long story," Leonardo briefly explained the bait to Yang Le. The latter naturally knew everything that had happened, but for the sake of acting, he pretended to know nothing.
"I see, so you volunteered to be bait to cover your comrades' retreat?" Yang Le nodded. "You are truly a group of brave warriors."
“You don’t need to tell me that, big guy.” Michelangelo’s nose was practically pointing to the sky. “I’m a hero recognized by the Silver Guardians, you know the Silver Guardians? They’re the greatest superheroes on Earth.”
I do remember Yang Le. To put it simply, he's a character modeled after Superman, but unfortunately, he's not even half as strong as Superman.
In Yang Le's opinion, the Silver Guardian's strength should be similar to that of Superman in his prime, except that the former only had the ability to fly.
"That sounds very impressive," Yang Le complimented.
“That goes without saying…” Michelangelo had barely started talking when Leonardo forcibly shut him down. He glared at the former, knowing this wasn’t the time to chat about trivial matters.
"We've been talking about 'us,' so what's your name, my friend?"
“Me? You can call me Spike.” Yang Le said, feigning seriousness. “I’m just someone who’s about to be abandoned by the Federation.”
"Could you elaborate?" Leonardo asked calmly.
“My parents died in a Federation mission, and I grew to loathe the endless wars ordered by the Federation. Every year, people like me appear in the Federation, and I feel it shouldn’t be like this.”
"But unfortunately, in the eyes of the Federation, I am nothing more than an anomaly."
Yang Le didn't spell it out too bluntly, but that didn't stop the four turtles from imagining him as someone imprisoned for opposing the war. Anyway, the entire cell's surveillance cameras had been hacked by the shapeshifter, so even if Yang Le said he was Qin Shi Huang, no one would refute him.
“I feel sorry for you, Spike,” Leonardo said earnestly. “But we can escape together.”
"Escape? Don't be ridiculous, we can't even open the cell door in front of us." Yang Le scoffed at Leonardo's idea.
"Besides, even if we manage to escape from the prison, it won't help. We're in space now, where can we escape to?"
“We’ll land eventually,” Donatello interjected. “Once we land, we can seize the opportunity and steal a spaceship.”
“If you knew where we were going next, you wouldn’t think that way,” Yang Le shook his head.
"Next, we're going to a place that deals with criminals. It's an arena where we'll fight to the death."
These were all things Yang Le had just seen from the information the shapeshifter brought; he was just learning them on the spot.
Just now, Commander Mord finished his conversation with the Prime Minister of the Tesserland Federation. Upon learning that he had failed to capture Dr. Fuckey Todd, the Prime Minister was furious and ordered the four turtles to be sent to the arena to be killed in endless battle.
Meanwhile, Commander Morde also reported Yang Le's matter, but the Prime Minister, who was in a fit of anger, had no time to care who Yang Le was and immediately charged him with treason and sent him to the arena.
It's not hard to see from this that the leaders of Tetherland were no good either. A monarch who so easily decides a person's life or death—history has shown countless times how such people are dealt with.
It can only be said that the inability to learn from mistakes is not just a human trait, but also a trait of all intelligent beings.
A classic cuisine that has repeated itself in the same way, it's a must-try.
However, what Yang Le said to Leonard earlier wasn't entirely fabricated. Many Taserlandon people are now starting to hate war, especially after being entangled with Hahab for so long.
In fact, some soldiers were already complaining, because the Federation's casualty rate was rising, but the situation was still unclear.
The Taserlandons were indeed brave and fearless of death, but as the war dragged on, more and more people began to question whether such behavior was truly meaningful.
After all, once the Taserlandons occupy those territories, there's a high probability of rebellion if the number of guards decreases, making it a thankless and arduous task.
Yang Le estimated that if it weren't for the honor that the Taserland people valued most, the rebellion would have already broken out.
It can only be said that the people of Tasserland know how to self-manipulate; they compromise with themselves and make themselves feel good.
These were all discovered after the shapeshifter hacked into the Tesserlandon network. Yang Le also discovered that a high-ranking member of the Tesserlandon leadership had already publicly opposed the endless war.
The fate of this high-ranking official was predictable; he was imprisoned by the current Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Tetherland for the same charge of treason, using someone else's name to spread rumors. As for his current whereabouts, it is generally impossible to find out.
Unfortunately, Tesserlandon's network security was useless against the shapeshifters. According to the information he found, the higher-ups had also been thrown into the arena, but it was unknown whether they were dead or alive.
