Chapter 110 The Maximov Brothers and Sisters' Employment
"I don't think this is a good idea, Pietro." Wanda looked at her brother worriedly.

"Relax Wanda." Pietro comforted his sister.

"The more nervous you are, the more likely they'll notice something's wrong with you. Just treat it like going to the supermarket."

"I hope so." Wanda sighed and followed Pietro towards the Avengers Building.

"Stop!" A burly man in a suit and tie at the door stopped the brother and sister from moving forward.

"This is Avengers Tower. Ordinary people are prohibited from entering. Please explain your purpose."

"We received a notice asking us to report here." Pietro took out a list and handed it to the security guard.

The guard took the list and looked at it, then said in shock, "You have passed the test."

"Yes, we are," Pietro nodded.

"I didn't expect that someone could actually pass the test." The guard's tone was full of envy.

It has been mentioned before that in order to fight Thanos, the Avengers need more manpower and the location of the gems.

"I think we should go in Pietro first," Wanda whispered as she leaned over to Pietro.

Pietro finally came to his senses and pulled Wanda into the Avengers Building.

As soon as they entered the building, a capable woman in a suit called them.

"Excuse me, is this Mr. Pietro and Miss Wanda?"

"It's us. May I ask who you are?" Pietro looked at the woman in confusion.

"My name is Melinda May. You can call me Melinda. I'm your receptionist." Melinda extended her right hand and introduced herself. (The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were kicked out of the MCU universe, so I won't write about their plot, but in honor of the show, I will let some of them make a cameo appearance.)
"Hello." The brother and sister shook hands with him one after another.

"This is your temporary pass. Please follow me." Melinda handed the two tags in her hand to the brother and sister, motioning them to follow, and then turned and walked towards the depths.

The brother and sister took the tag and hurried to catch up. To their surprise, everyone who passed by them along the way would greet them. They responded one by one until they got on the elevator and had a chance to catch their breath.

"Are you tired?" Melinda looked at the relieved brother and sister with a smile in her eyes.

"A little bit." Pietro was obviously not used to it. He felt that this was much more tiring than the test from the Supervisory Office.

"Why are they so enthusiastic?" Wanda asked puzzledly.

“This is obviously our first time here.”

"Because you are the Avengers' reserve force," Melinda replied.

"The Avengers saved New York not long ago. No, they saved the world. They are now more popular than any celebrity."

"As reservists, you are also future heroes in the eyes of others. The public has come to love you as well."

Pietro and Wanda met in silence, but only they knew that they were not here to be heroes, they were here just for revenge.

"I told you this was a bad idea." Wanda glared at Pietro.

"How could I have known this would happen?" Pietro's eyes averted, this was clearly beyond his expectations.

Melinda watched the brother and sister interacting, thinking they were flattered. She ignored them and took out her phone to check her upcoming work schedule.

In the elevator, the Pietro siblings were busy blaming each other, and Melinda was looking down at her phone. No one noticed that a faint energy was coming out of the elevator control panel.

That energy took a ride. It originally had a clear goal, but something seemed to go wrong and it split into several strands and floated towards the Pietro siblings.
