Chapter 1076 Karl and Kara

No matter how much Batman disagrees, he can't influence the thoughts of world leaders.

Although it was agreed at the end of the meeting that a decision on whether to accept the support of the Reach would be made at the United Nations meeting the next day, everyone present understood that the Reach's entry into Earth was basically settled at that point.

Just like Hal said, their future days will definitely be busier.

Batman turned off the monitor, signifying the end of the Justice League's activities for the day. However, before Superman could turn around, Batman called out to him.

"Don't go yet, Superman, Yang Le needs to talk to you."

Superman pointed to himself and asked, "Me?"

Clark was understandably puzzled; he simply couldn't figure out why Yang Le had asked him to do something. Although the two had a good relationship, they didn't communicate much in private.

Compared to his sometimes overly serious demeanor, Yang Le preferred to hang out with Barry and Hal.

“I don’t know why Yang Le asked you to come either,” Batman said. “But Yang Le also said that anyone else who is curious can come over, but Superman has to be there, because he is the main character in this matter.”

Batman's words piqued the curiosity of not only Superman but also the others present, who immediately followed him to the watchtower.

Upon arriving at the watchtower, the group saw the spaceship docked outside the tower through the viewing window.

"What a huge spaceship!" The Flash appeared at the window. "It's probably the size of ten watchtowers."

“It looks like that from the outside,” Batman chimed in. “But the interior space is much more than that.”

The Flash was about to say something when the sound of a door opening behind him stopped him from speaking. He turned around with the others and saw Yang Le leading a blonde girl in.

It wasn't good news for Barry, but he still subconsciously glanced at the other woman in the room, Wonder Woman Diana.

Diana raised an eyebrow slightly, her expression unchanged, and asked, "Yang, who is this?"

Hal wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he felt as if he vaguely saw swords, spears, and halberds being spat out of Diana's mouth, and a chilling atmosphere filled the room.

"I was just about to introduce it to everyone."

Unexpectedly, Yang Le seemed not to notice, and pulled the blonde girl next to him to the front of the group, and then said.

"This is Kara, Kara Zo-El, a Kryptonian and Clark's cousin."

As soon as these words were spoken, the hall became so quiet that you could hear your own heartbeat. Everyone's gaze first fell on Superman, and then on Kara.

This went on for several times until Superman, one of the parties involved, came to his senses.

"What!?" Clark's expression was a mixture of surprise and delight, astonished that he actually had a cousin.

"But why does she look younger than me? So much younger?"

Although Superman was caught off guard by the bombshell news, he wasn't so overwhelmed that he immediately noticed the problem with Yang Le's words.

“I knew you’d ask that.” Yang Le patted Kara on the shoulder, and she finally came to her senses and told him everything that had happened to her, including the mystery of her age. “If you don’t believe me, the escape pod I used to escape is still in the ship’s hangar.”

As Kara spoke, she pointed to the spaceship outside the viewing window.

"The Canned King didn't dispose of the escape pod. I guess he wanted to modify it and put it in the display case along with me, but he couldn't break through Krypton's technology, so he had to leave it there."

Superman was already mostly convinced, but before he could speak, Batman spoke up first.

"Then take us to see it."

Clearly, words alone, even with someone vouching for him, couldn't convince Batman completely. No one present was surprised, as this was very much in line with Batman's character.

Kara remained calm, because Yang Le had already explained the Justice League members to her before they met, and had even highlighted the man in the black uniform.

The main point of the introduction is that this person is inherently suspicious, so don't get angry at his offensive words, because Batman is not deliberately targeting you; he treats everyone equally.

After all, Batman sometimes doesn't even believe in himself.

Superman glanced at Batman with gratitude. To be honest, he also wanted to see the Kryptonian escape pod, a crucial piece of evidence, but making that request in front of everyone would be too embarrassing.

If Kara really is his cousin, then this request could very well upset her, so Batman is really grateful that he stepped forward to be the villainous Superman.

Led by Yang Le, the group entered the spaceship's docking bay through the lookout tower's access point. After walking a few steps, they indeed discovered Krypton's escape pod deep inside.

Krypton's style is unique, and anyone with a discerning eye can tell at a glance. Kara even opened the escape pod using biometrics, allowing everyone to inspect it at will.

“I escaped Krypton after Karl.” Kara stroked the escape pod, a trace of sadness on her face.

"Krypton had already begun to collapse when I escaped, so my parents didn't have time to record any footage of me. But I think being able to open the escape pod should be enough to prove my identity."

"This only proves your Kryptonian identity. As for your kinship with Superman, we need to conduct genetic testing to determine that."

Only Batman would say something like that at this moment. Luckily, Kara was prepared, otherwise she would have really thought she was being deliberately targeted.

“I’ll undergo genetic testing,” Kara agreed without hesitation. “I don’t know if you Earthlings have the means to break through the Kryptonian biofield, but this spaceship has a machine that can simulate the radiation of the red sun.”

“Once I’m exposed to that machine, I’ll temporarily lose my superpowers, and then you can take samples.”

“There’s no need for that,” Diana stepped forward. “My sword was forged by Hephaestus himself. It can break through the Kryptonians’ defenses with just a prick of my fingertip.”

This method was indeed convenient and saved Kara from the pain of being exposed to the red sun, so she readily agreed. Superman, on the other hand, walked up apologetically.

"I'm sorry, but the Kryptonians we've encountered before haven't been very friendly."

This statement shocked Kara, who quickly asked, "What? There are other Kryptonians besides you and me?"
