Chapter 1070

"The music of Earth?"

After a long while, Kara finally found a chance to interject when Yang Le took a breath.

Yang Le stopped moving his body and turned to look at Kara, who was leaning against the corner of the wall. She was no longer wearing the Kryptonian outfit specially made by the Canned King, but had changed into ordinary Earth clothes.

"The spaceship has machines that can sew all kinds of clothing."

Kara knew what Yang Le wanted to ask from his gaze, so she spoke first.

"You want to ask me why I don't wear clothes from my own planet, but instead wear Earthling clothes? That's because my home is gone."

Kara's eyes revealed boundless melancholy, it was hard to tell whether it was sadness, resentment, or both.

"Seeing those clothes reminds me of my days on Krypton. To avoid crying in front of you all, I think I'd better change. What do you think? Do I look strange in this outfit?"

As Kara spoke, she spread her arms and spun around in front of Yang Le. The former was wearing a white T-shirt on his upper body, covered by a blue baseball jacket, and wearing tight jeans and white canvas shoes on his lower body.

“Mary put together this outfit for me; she said it suits me very well.”

It must be said that Mary has a good eye. Carla already has an undeniable air of heroism between her brows, and wearing this androgynous outfit not only doesn't look out of place, but also perfectly showcases her characteristics.

Honestly, Cara could star in a teen idol drama without makeup in this outfit; she would definitely be the leading lady.

Even her age is perfect, since she's only 16...

Kara gets angry whenever her age is mentioned. When they escaped Krypton, the Zor-El couple put their daughter into cryogenic hibernation for her safety. This would keep her biological age at the moment she boarded the spaceship, which is 16 years old.

In fact, her cousin Carl was in the same situation, except that Carl's escape spaceship encountered an accident after being launched into space. Not only did it fail to land on any planet, but it also remained in outer space.

Fortunately, Krypton's technology was genuine, which allowed Kara to remain a timeless beauty in space. Her cousin Karl had grown up on Earth, worked for many years, and was about to start a family, while Kara had only just woken up.

When Garfield told her about her cousin Carl's approximate age, Kara was stunned. How could her cousin be almost a full twelve years older than her?

How should we determine the generational hierarchy? Should I call Karl, who is older than me, my cousin? It just doesn't seem right.

However, Yang Le didn't think it was a big deal. He had many family members, some of whom married early, some late, and some who had children late in life. As a result, his seniority had unknowingly increased considerably.

However, Kara, who was still a minor, had obviously not experienced this before. But for a poor child whose hometown had been destroyed, this was a happy trouble. Yang Le decided not to interfere and let her struggle with it on her own.

"Not bad," Yang Le commented. "This outfit really suits you."

Kara was young and had never heard such words before. She blushed for a moment and avoided eye contact, changing the subject.

"On the other hand, you don't actually need to keep your hand on the helm the whole time. This spaceship should have an autopilot function."

"Of course I know." Yang Le grabbed the rudder with one hand, spun it 180 degrees, and then released it. The spaceship's circuitry was not affected during the process. "I had already activated autopilot and locked the rudder. Even if you remove the rudder now, it won't affect the spaceship's course. I was just playing around."

"What do you want to play?" Kara asked, bewildered.

Yang Le tilted his head and answered uncertainly, "It's just playing the captain game that kids on Earth love? Anyway, it'll still be a few hours before we get back to Earth, so I need to find some fun for myself, right?"

Kara was somewhat speechless, and suggested, "If you're bored, why don't you come with Garfield on an adventure aboard the spaceship? It's huge; you definitely won't be able to see it all before we get back to Earth."

"Please, have mercy." Yang Le waved his hand. "I still need to read a bedtime story to my little princess when I get home later."

"A person's enthusiasm for something is limited. For example, when it comes to raising children, I want to reserve all my enthusiasm for my little princess and read her bedtime stories with full energy. Everyone else can only stand in the background."

"You have a child?" Kara was shocked because Yang Le looked so young, probably only around 25 years old according to Earthling age calculations.

“She’s adopted,” Yang Le explained. “But it won’t be long before she takes my surname, and then Cassandra will be my child.”

Cassandra is now somewhat oblivious to her surroundings; she's never even heard of David Cain, and she'd rather not be associated with the pain of her childhood.

However, Cassandra still felt a certain attachment to her mother, perhaps because Shiva had been busy training and hadn't shown up much in front of her, which left Cassandra with a lingering illusion about her.

However, Shiva was simply so engrossed in martial arts that he forgot he had a daughter, just like the panda forgetting its cub, Milk.

But Yang Le didn't want Cassandra to suffer so many blows, so he decided to let her keep this fantasy.

Yang Le certainly wouldn't tell Kara any of this, so the latter would only see him as a good person who adopted orphans, since the tenderness in Yang Le's eyes when he mentioned Cassandra was genuine.

Seeing Yang Le's loving fatherly demeanor, Kara was reminded of her own parents.

Just as Kara was feeling down, the driver's side door suddenly opened, and the energetic Garfield led Mary in.

“Mr. Yang, I’m telling you, it’s such a waste that you don’t go see those animals. They are all rare and exotic creatures that you can’t see on Earth.”

As he spoke, Garfield transformed into a small animal resembling a pterosaur, only reaching the knee of a normal adult. Its protruding eyes reminded Yang Le of a chameleon.

"For example, this one. It's a pity that the canned food company didn't label what these animals are called, otherwise I could have conjured up their appearances while introducing them to you."

In fact, Canned Food King had detailed information about these animals in his memory, but Yang Le had just packed it up and put it in a corner of his mind without having had a chance to look at it.

Now, seeing Garfield's excited expression, Yang Le felt it was best not to reveal this information, lest the other party pester him.

"DiDi! DiDi!"

Just then, the alarm in the cockpit suddenly sounded. Yang Le went to the screen and saw that a fleet had appeared in their flight path.
