Chapter 1053 Wally and Artemis's Relationship Heats Up

Chapter 1053 Wally and Artemis's Relationship Heats Up
Robin summoned familiar faces; they weren't necessarily vicious killers, but many were people of a certain status.

People like Vandal Savage and Ressauguin were among those listed, and Robin also added the witch child who was highly suspected, bringing the total number of suspects to over a dozen.

These people are all unique, but the one thing that remains constant is that each of them is troublesome enough, let alone when they are all together.

“Just seeing these people gives me the creeps,” Wally said, scratching his head. “I never imagined we’d been fighting such terrifying opponents all this time.”

"Alright, let's not boost their morale and diminish our own." Artemis nudged her boyfriend with her elbow. "These old guys are strong, but we're not bad either, not to mention we've thwarted their schemes many times."

Artemis was right, but the Illuminati is most famous for never losing out. This is because the Illuminati's actions are not for a single purpose; they are generally divided into overt and covert purposes.

With both lines advancing simultaneously, even if one line fails, the other line will most likely be saved.

Superheroes have indeed thwarted many Illuminati plots, but the latter have never suffered any serious damage.

Saying these things at this time would not only demoralize the children but also arouse unnecessary suspicion, so Yang Le could only remind them to be careful.

“I suspect the Illuminati has grand ambitions, and that’s why I need the three of you to act as double agents. If possible, capture one or two members before their plans are implemented and force them to reveal their schemes.”

"By then, it will be too late for them to come up with any schemes."

"Oh, right." Yang Le suddenly remembered something. "The fewer people who know about this, the better, so you can't tell anyone, no matter how close you are to them."

Yang Le's words were mainly directed at the few members of the Returning Party. After all, the few people living in the new base could only contact the team members, so they wouldn't be caught out.

Everyone turned their attention to Captain Robin. Everyone here knew that his teacher was the world's greatest detective, and if anyone could possibly leak the secret, it would be him.

Seeing everyone staring at him, Robin could only raise his hands in surrender and said, "Don't look at me like that. Do I look like someone who can't keep a secret? Batman can't read minds, so there's no way I could be exposed."

The topic ended with Robin's assurance. To avoid being exposed, Yang Le then really did give the Young Justice League members another beating before letting them go.

...

After training, Artemis took a shower as usual, changed into clean clothes, and prepared to go home, while Wally waited for her in the lobby as always.

"Now that you've confessed everything, I can finally take you home, right?"

Wally stared intently at Artemis, which almost made the latter unable to resist and she nearly agreed.

"Not today, Wally." Artemis remained composed, shaking her head to refuse her boyfriend.

"Why?" Wally asked, puzzled. "Before, I could understand that you didn't want to reveal your background, but now that I know everything, why is it still not okay?"

Wally looked sullen. He enjoyed spending time with Artemis, which was why he longed for the job of taking his girlfriend home.

Artemis found it amusing to look at the sulking Wally, and with a smile, she leaned closer to him and said, "You forgot? My dad's been contacting me lately. I haven't given him a clear answer yet, and he'll definitely be coming to me again in the coming days. If you want to take me home, you'll have to wait until I've dealt with him first."

Wally scratched his head; he had really forgotten about it. Helpless, he could only sigh, after all, important matters came first.

Artemis really liked Wally's attitude towards her. This feeling of being cherished was something she had always longed for because she lacked love, and therefore she didn't want to disappoint the person who loved her.

"Chirp."

Artemis, with her keen eyes and ears, noticed that there were no outsiders in the hall. She quickly peeked out and pecked Wally on the lips. Overjoyed, she was about to leave when she forgot that her boyfriend was among the fastest people in the world.

Wally reached out and trapped the female archer who was trying to pull away. He took a small step forward to cover the distance she had retreated, so that their lips were only separated for a brief moment before they were pressed together again.

Artemis was initially surprised, but after feeling the burning heat of the body beside her, she quickly became engrossed in it, and the two of them lost themselves in each other.

Half a minute later, the sounds of water and smacking lips in the hall finally stopped, and the blushing couple finally let each other go because they were short of oxygen.

"Huff...huff..." Artemis glared at Wally reproachfully. "Are you satisfied now?"

Wally wanted to say something joking, but under the female archer's sharp, arrow-like gaze, he could only avoid her sharp edge and obediently nod.

"I am very satisfied."

Artemis nearly choked on her breath. Speechless, she looked at her boyfriend, gently tapped him a few times to break free from his embrace, and without saying goodbye, turned and walked to the center of the hall to use the teleportation device to leave the new base.

Wally, who remained where he was, gently touched his lips, grinned foolishly for half a minute, and then hummed a cheerful little tune as he followed Artemis out of the new base.

Only after the two left the base did the remaining members of the Young Justice League, who had been hiding behind the hall door, finally dare to show themselves.

They had actually arrived long ago, but they didn't show up because they heard Wally and the other person talking about a rather private topic. Megan, who arrived first, had originally wanted to tell everyone to leave and not to eavesdrop.

But the Flash was indeed fast enough that the two started fighting before everyone had even left. It just goes to show that speed isn't always an advantage.

...

Artemis, after leaving the base, was teleported to an abandoned garage near her home. The door to this garage was always locked, so outsiders had virtually no way to get in.

Artemis had actually transformed this place into her own little base long ago, and even changed all the chains. After she joined the Young Justice League, this place became her fixed location for teleporting home.

To avoid attracting attention, Artemis never used the main entrance; she always slipped out through the narrow garage window, relying on her petite and slender figure. Today was no different.

Artemis emerged from the garage as usual, and was about to head out of the alley when she heard a soft thud behind her.
