Chapter 403 Overturns the Entire Strange Neighborhood

The Sanshuiwan residential area looked desolate and dilapidated from the outside, but when Lin Jue got closer, he found it to be very lively inside.

The mottled walls were covered with double happiness characters stained with blood, and lanterns made of human skin hung from the beams, burning with eerie green candlelight. Severed hands were strung together and hung everywhere, looking like red silk ribbons as blood flowed down their sides.

Inside the mist, one can hear eerie, sharp, and piercing laughter; this place is truly a ghost cave.

"Stop! What are you doing?" A burly man with a missing eyeball blocked Lin Jue's way of entering.

"Of course, it's a gift for the general." Lin Jue patted the jar in his arms: "There are some good things inside."

The burly man glanced at the jar with a strange look and said in a deep voice, "Go inside."

"Thanks, buddy." This burly man was surprisingly easy to talk to, so Lin Jue decided to kill him last.

After walking twenty or thirty meters, Lin Jue saw surging resentment in his line of sight. These were strange creatures of various shapes and ferocious expressions, who were drinking blood and eating flesh and blood, turning this area into a carnival feast of flesh and blood with strong oil.

"About forty, mostly E-rank, a few D-rank." Lin Jue said as he approached, assessing the strength of each of the strange creatures. "E-rank creatures offer little room for improvement in my abilities. B-rank creatures, however, can be given to A Jing and Xiao Ming, and can also be used to heal A Jin's injuries..."

He mentally planned out all the bizarre uses for the place while looking towards the innermost part.

There are five ghosts in the innermost part, which are also the ones with the heaviest resentment here.

The first one was a figure clad in armor, inside which lay a long-decayed skeleton. This must be the so-called general, who seemed to be an ancient commander resurrected by the mist.

Two female ghosts stood on either side of the general; they must be his wife and concubine. What was particularly striking was that the female ghost wearing a red wedding dress had a rabbit's head, making her look especially bizarre.

The remaining two must be monsters from other areas, covered in ruptured pustules and maggots, they looked disgusting no matter how you looked at them.

“Three B-grade monsters, and the two female monsters are both C-grade. Feed the female monsters to A Jin, and feed all three B-grade monsters to Bi Zheng.”

Lin Jue had planned everything in his mind before stepping inside.

"Another little devil has arrived. It seems he's heard the news and is seeking the general's protection."

"Hehe, if his gift satisfies the general, it's not impossible for him to stay."

"If the general is not satisfied, we will have to add another dish today."

The strange creatures around him, their mouths dripping with blood, saw Lin Jue and began to converse with him in ill intent.

As Lin Jue approached, he said loudly, "General, I am a wandering ghost who has been roaming around here. I happened to hear today that you have good news, so I came here to bring you a gift."

"I guarantee this gift is the most precious treasure in the entire Mist, and I assure you the General will be extremely satisfied!"

"Oh, quite the boast." A strange sneer rang out. This doctor looked to be only at the D-level, how dare he say such a thing?
How could a D-rank character produce a treasure that even a B-rank character would find precious?
"Not bad courage." The general shook the wine cup filled with human blood in his hand, his white, bony jaw opening and closing as he spoke in a hoarse tone: "Then present it to me so that I may have a good look at it."

"But if you fail to satisfy this general, then you shall be dealt with according to military law."

Does this guy really think he's some kind of ancient general?
Lin Jue calmly handed the jar to the general, drawing curious glances from all around. They wanted to see what this so-called precious treasure was.

The general yanked open the jar, revealing a head inside. A bizarre head, and only of E-rank.

This is what you call a precious treasure? This is what you call something that has never existed in the mist? If you really want an E-grade bizarre head, you can find tons of them here!

A chilling ghostly flame ignited in the general's eye sockets. He crushed the head in the jar, his voice low and menacing: "Little ghost, are you toying with this general?"

"Is the general not satisfied?" Lin Jue looked flustered. "I have other treasures here, I'll take them out and show them to the general right away."

As he spoke, he took off his backpack and pulled out Blood Shadow from it: "General, look, the talking blood mascot."

"Boss!!!" Blood Shadow was so angry that he scratched wildly in the air.

"There's also a female ghost covered in blood in a mirror, and a high school student who loves cards."

"A pitiful male ghost without a lower body, a sculptor whose whole body is bound by chains."

"And..." Lin Jue finally pulled He Wen out of his raincoat: "and the cute little girl in the blood-stained clothes."

"The last person to appear was a gentle old man who looked like he couldn't even kill a chicken."

When the Blood Shadow was first discovered, the group of elves had a mocking and sarcastic expression, thinking that Lin Jue was just a country bumpkin. But as more and more strange things appeared from the backpack, their expressions became more and more ugly, and the once lively scene became dead silent.

Especially when He Wen and the old headmaster appeared, all the ghosts' faces turned pale instantly. The overwhelming resentment made their souls tremble, as if they had seen predators standing at the top of the food chain.

The scene was deathly quiet. The will-o'-the-wisp that had been burning fiercely in the general's eyes gradually died down. His mouth was open, but he didn't utter a single word for a long time.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Is the general still not satisfied?" Lin Jue laughed. Every ghost around him exuded an extremely terrifying resentment, making all the ghosts present tremble with fear, even the B-level fierce ghosts.

"Who exactly are you?" The general's voice was hoarse; he knew that the other party's appearance indicated that he was definitely there to cause trouble.

"What I hate most is people who don't answer questions directly." Lin Jue, pencil sharpener in hand, charged at the general first: "Attack!"

In an instant, chains howled, dark eyes appeared all around, and eerie screams filled the air. This bloody feast escalated once again, turning into a bizarre battlefield.

Ten minutes later, the screams stopped. Lin Jue crushed the general's skull with one foot and looked around.

All the monsters fell into pools of blood, their deaths gruesome.

"Will swallowing this bone increase your strength?" Lin Jue called Bi Zheng over.

"The important thing is resentment. Whether it's flesh and blood or bone, as long as there's resentment, it's useful." Bi Zheng wiped away the black blood dripping from the chains.

"That's fine."

Lin Jue nodded and began distributing the strange corpses according to the plan he had in mind. After Bi Zheng and the others had finished devouring them, he rolled up his raincoat, put all the strange corpses inside, and left Sanshui Bay.
