Chapter 485 Terrifying Eyes
Chapter 493
In the future, unique beings will be born here. They will be born bathed in the "Dao" of the Flame, and their starting point will be an insurmountable destination for other beings in the world. They will be the most natural inheritors and guardians of the Great Dao of the Flame.
And among them, one of the most dazzling existences will inevitably emerge.
That being will bear the entire fortune of this "Dao Origin Realm". He or she will rise from countless calamities and challenges, eventually walk under the "Dao Yang", inherit the will of the torch, and become the next era's...fire bearer.
The consciousness of the incarnation of the torch slowly faded away, returning to the omnipresent void.
Her mission is to protect and guide, not to interfere.
A new era has begun, and a new story awaits its protagonist on this newly born land.
Deep within the void, those ancient wills fell into an unprecedented silence.
The Eye of Annihilation slowly closed, as if digesting everything it had seen. The Source of All Things ceased its roar and fell into deep thought. The Touch of the Void carefully withdrew all its senses, no longer daring to easily peer into the area shrouded in the light of the embers.
A brand new era has arrived with undeniable force, under the watchful eyes of all beings.
In that newly formed "Dao Origin Realm," in a valley enveloped by rich primordial energy, a multicolored, strangely shaped stone trembled slightly under the radiance of "Dao Yang."
Inside it, a faint, nascent consciousness, yet imbued with an aura of supreme nobility, is slowly awakening.
Time passes silently, eras are nameless.
On this newly born realm bathed in the radiance of "Dao Yang," time, for the first time, possessed a measurable measure. Dao Yang rises in the east and sets in the west; one cycle completes a day. Time flows through mountains and rivers, settling in the flourishing and withering of vegetation; ten thousand cycles are defined as a "year" by the unseen laws of this realm.
In the blink of an eye, three thousand years have passed.
The valley, once enveloped in rich primordial energy, is no longer the desolate place it once was. Within its walls, divine flowers bloom in abundance, and auspicious herbs flourish, each plant seemingly a manifestation of the laws of heaven and earth. Some blades of grass, sharp as swords, cleave the void, illustrating the initial mysteries of the Way of "sharpness"; others, their blossoms opening and closing, seem to absorb fragments of time, enacting the transition between "moment" and "eternity." A stream, formed from the convergence of liquid primordial energy, flows gently, each surge of water crashing against the rocks on its banks releasing tiny runes of law that merge with the earth, nourishing this sacred land.
Three thousand years is but a single breath upon awakening for a newly born world. Yet, for that colorful, wondrous stone, it was a long slumber long enough to give birth to miracles.
It lies quietly in the center of the valley, bathed in the divine light of the Dao, breathing in and out the primordial essence. The five colors on the stone's surface are no longer the colorful and mixed colors of the past, but have become incomparably pure and profound. Crimson is like fire, containing the power to burn the heavens; blue is like wood, overflowing with the vitality of life; gold is like metal, concealing the sharpness of immortality; black is like water, flowing with the mystery of all transformations; yellow is like earth, displaying the weight of profound virtue. The five colors flow and subtly form a miniature world of mutual generation and restraint, perfectly harmonious and unimpeded.
On this day, Dao Yang rose to the very center of the sky, his radiance at its most intense. Countless divine rays of light descended, like a golden waterfall, pouring into the valley.
At that very moment, the faint, nascent consciousness within the multicolored stone that had been dormant for three thousand years finally completed its final transformation through endless accumulation.
"who I am?"
A vague thought, like the first lightning bolt striking through chaos, exploded in the ocean of consciousness.
He "saw" the problem the moment it arose.
He had no eyes, yet he "saw" the entire world. He saw the Dao Yang high in the sky and felt the warmth and call that originated from the same source; he saw the vast and boundless earth and felt its weight and compassion that bore all things; he saw the breath of every immortal herb in the valley, the swaying of every Dao flower, and could even "hear" the primordial stream singing the ancient ballad of creation.
Everything in this world felt so familiar and dear to him, as if it were an extension of his own body.
But at the same time, he also "saw" something else.
In the shadows where light cannot reach, in the gaps where laws intertwine, and deep within the lifeblood of every blade of grass and tree, lurks a faint, discordant "noise." It is a chaotic, distorted, and contradictory force that tempts life toward distortion, incites the laws toward collapse, and whispers mad ramblings that plunge all things into chaos.
That is the eternal "wound" left by the "throat of disorder," the "calamity" inherent in this perfect world.
“I am… ‘Yes’.”
"It... is a variant of 'nothingness,' a shadow of 'being.'"
The second thought was clearer and more resolute. In the instant he defined himself and that chaotic force, his resonance with the world reached an unprecedented peak.
Click!
A crisp, shattering sound, like the first thunderclap at the beginning of time, resounded throughout the entire valley.
A crack appeared on the colorful stone.
Then, click! Click! Click!
Cracks instantly spread across the entire stone like a spiderweb. Countless dazzling divine lights burst forth from the cracks, transforming the entire valley into a multicolored, shimmering divine realm. Within each ray of divine light lay a fragment of the most primordial law, the essence accumulated over three thousand years.
boom!
With a deafening roar, the multicolored stones exploded, transforming into a shower of light that blanketed every inch of the valley. Nourished by this primal energy, the celestial flowers and auspicious herbs within the valley instantly grew wildly, their spirituality greatly enhanced. Some even developed a nascent intelligence, emitting joyful, childlike cries towards the center of the explosion.
In the center of the rain of light, a figure slowly appeared.
That's a teenager.
He appeared to be about fifteen or sixteen years old, with long, flowing black hair that reached his waist. Each strand seemed to be formed from the purest light, shimmering with starlight. His skin was more translucent and crystalline than the finest immortal jade, and one could vaguely see that beneath it flowed not blood, but the primordial divine light interwoven with five colors.
His features were so handsome that words could not describe them; he seemed to be the embodiment of all the concepts of "perfection" in the world. But what was most striking were his eyes.
What a pair of eyes those are!
In his left eye, Dao Yang's silhouette seemed to be reflected, fiery and sacred, filled with the majesty of creation and order. But his right eye was a deep darkness that seemed to devour all light, with contradictory and chaotic starlight flickering within it. That was the power of "disorder" that he had absorbed, understood, but not yet fully mastered.
One is born and one dies; one is positive and one is negative; one is orderly and one is chaotic.
Two diametrically opposed forces achieved a strange yet perfect balance in his eyes.
The boy, barefoot, slowly landed on the ground. He looked down at his hands, then looked up at Dao Yang in the sky, his eyes filled with nascent curiosity and understanding. "So, this is 'me'."
He has no name, because in this world, there is no other "him" who needs to be distinguished. He is the first being born from the innate origin in this world, the one favored by the destiny of the Dao Source World, and the "variable" that the will of the torch awaits.
He was "Daosheng".
"Dao Sheng" means "born of the Great Dao".
He took the first step.
As his feet touched the ground, a slight, joyful pulse resonated throughout the entire Dao Origin Realm, as if welcoming the birth of a child. He walked forward, and the immortal herbs and auspicious beasts in the valley made way for him, the flowers bowing their heads to him and the spirit beasts humming softly to him.
He walked out of the valley.
The outside world is billions of times larger than the valley.
The towering sacred mountain, its very form a series of solidified chains of laws, exudes a grand aura that suppresses heaven and earth. The raging, roaring river is not ordinary water, but rather the innate energy of Geng metal and the essence of Yi wood; any single drop of it would be enough to drive cultivators of the lower realms mad.
Above the sky, besides the eternal Dao Yang, countless stars slowly rotated. Dao Sheng knew that each star represented a supreme Dao that had not yet been mastered by any living being. When one day, a being could comprehend a certain Dao to its ultimate extent, it would be able to light up the corresponding Dao Star, living as long as heaven and earth, shining as brightly as the sun and moon.
What a magnificent and yet desolate world this is.
Daosheng wandered aimlessly, measuring the earth with his feet, observing the world with his eyes, and feeling the pulse of all things with his heart. He saw a blade of grass, how it sprouted from the soil and withered, and the principle of life and death, contained within it, naturally flowed into his heart. He saw a mountain, how it withstood the erosion of wind and rain, and he comprehended the true meaning of its unwavering "suppression" throughout the ages.
With each breath he took, he exchanged his essence with heaven and earth; with each heartbeat he made, he resonated with the Great Dao. His strength was increasing at an incredible speed, every moment.
However, this world is not all peace and beauty.
When he had traveled 100,000 miles and arrived at a black plain, he stopped.
This plain was barren, riddled with dry, jagged ravines, as if cursed by some terrifying force. A chilling, chaotic, and violent aura permeated the air.
That was the aura of "calamity".
Dao Sheng's strange eyes gazed towards the center of the plain. His left eye gleamed with divine light, piercing through illusion; he saw that the laws of this place were severely distorted, space was out of place, and time was disordered. His right eye flickered with a sinister light; he sensed a power deep within his own right eye, a power that shared the same origin but was filled with malice.
"Roar!"
A roar unlike any other creature echoed from a massive rift in the center of the plain. Then, a colossal beast slowly emerged from the rift.
It was a "monster" that could not be described by common sense.
It has the body of a giant lizard, but eight long legs like a spider. Half of its body is engulfed in black flames, while the other half is covered in grayish-white frost. Above its head, there are no eyes, only a gigantic maw that opens and closes like a black hole, from which come the wails and curses of countless creatures in despair.
This monstrous beast is the embodiment of all the twisted laws and chaotic wills on this plain, the first "physical body" of the "Curse of Chaos" in this world. Its very existence is a mockery and provocation of "order".
The moment it appeared, it locked onto Daosheng.
In its perception, Dao Sheng was like the bright moon in the night. The pure, harmonious, and orderly aura of "Dao" was an unbearable delicacy to it, but also a mortal enemy that it had to destroy!
"Order... must be... torn apart!"
Intermittent, frantic thoughts echoed in Daosheng's mind.
The next moment, the beast moved!
With a powerful leap from its eight long legs, its massive body vanished from its original spot. It wasn't due to extreme speed, but rather that it directly distorted the space between itself and Dao Sheng, forcibly erasing the concept of "distance"!
It appeared in front of Daosheng in an instant, its enormous mouth, large enough to devour mountains, snapping down on him!
Faced with this sudden attack that defied the laws of physics, Dao Sheng showed no panic whatsoever. He didn't even retreat; he simply calmly raised his right hand.
His movements were so slow that it seemed even an ordinary person could easily dodge them. However, as he raised his hand, the flow of time in the entire world seemed to change for him.
The beast's incredibly fast pounce appeared incredibly slow to Dao Sheng. He could clearly see how its sharp teeth tore through space, and how the black flames burning on its body and the condensed ice on its body generated an even more terrifying chaotic power in their mutual annihilation.
"So, this is how 'Zed' attacks."
Daosheng understood.
He extended a finger and gently tapped the beast's forehead.
This finger gesture possessed no earth-shattering power, nor was it surrounded by chains of divine laws; it contained only the purest form of "reason."
—"There will always be a distance between you and me."
This is his first definition and declaration of the laws of "space"!
hum!
An invisible wave spread out from Daosheng's fingertips.
The massive beast, which was about to devour Dao Sheng, suddenly paused. The "distance" between it and Dao Sheng, which it had forcibly erased, was now redefined and infinitely stretched by a higher-level, unquestionable force of "order"!
In the beast's perception, the boy before it was clearly within reach, yet also seemed impossibly far away. No matter how frantically it charged forward, it could not bridge this distance of "so close yet so far."
This is a crushing defeat at the level of laws!
"Roar!"
When its first attack failed, the beast grew even more ferocious. Its enormous, black maw suddenly opened, and a gray beam of light, composed of pure "chaos" and "contradiction," shot out towards Dao Sheng!
