"Oh no, something's happened..."

The metal gate shattered, and a black-clad guard outside was shocked. He was about to warn the guard, but before he could finish speaking, a piece of metal pierced his head.

Chen Xuan walked out of the room with his things. In front of him was a long corridor with a luminous pearl embedded in the ceiling. Under the light, the solid blue stone walls on both sides of the corridor were tightly fitted together, and there were rows of metal iron doors.

The corridor was dozens of feet long, with dozens of doors on both sides, indicating that the room he had been in was located at the deepest part.

As Chen Xuan walked out of the room, several black-clad guards near the metal gate had already been killed by the fragments. More than a dozen black-clad guards in front turned their heads to look over, but they were all at the acquired level. It seemed that all the innate experts here had gone to the room behind with Wu Jinxun.

In a single glance, before the guards in the corridor could react, Chen Xuan flicked his wrist, sending metal fragments flying and killing all the guards in the corridor.

He paced forward amidst the corpses lying in the room, not walking fast. In the room behind, the woman in red hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and followed.

After walking a few steps, Chen Xuan stood in front of an iron gate, raised his hand and pushed it open. Inside was a cozy room, complete with all the necessities of life.

When he pushed open the door, two pretty women inside looked over with horrified expressions, and they instinctively put their hands on their stomachs.

'Women, and they're already pregnant, less than three months along. What are the Wu family doing keeping them locked up underground? It looks like they're being treated to good food and drink.'

Chen Xuan frowned inwardly and turned to leave. His target was the Wu family. Once the Wu family was dealt with, they would naturally be fine.

Seeing the two pregnant women in the room, Chen Xuan had a bad feeling. If that was the case, then the Wu family deserved to die, from top to bottom!
He then opened several more doors, each containing two attractive women, both of whom were pregnant, some less than three months along, and some even less than a month pregnant.

He didn't need to guess to know that the situation was probably the same on this floor. He opened all the doors as he walked, but ignored the woman inside.

The woman in red, who was following behind in fear, was also bewildered by the situation inside the room and had no idea what was going on.

As Chen Xuan approached the end of the corridor and passed a door, a faint smell of blood wafted from inside. He paused, pushed open the door, and witnessed the scene inside. He remained calm, but his heart grew even colder.

The room was sparsely furnished, containing only a bed on which lay a woman, lifeless. Her abdomen had been cut open, and blood stained the snow-white sheets.

Beside the dead woman, a middle-aged man in white stood expressionless, holding a small knife with cold eyes. In a basin of warm water beside him was a tiny fetus, no bigger than the palm of his hand, already lifeless.

Perhaps the soundproofing was too good, or perhaps Chen Xuan moved too quickly, but he didn't notice what was happening outside. He just looked over in confusion after Chen Xuan pushed the door open.

After glancing at it, Chen Xuan closed his eyes slightly and silently apologized.

The woman's face was filled with despair and pain. She had committed suicide by biting her tongue. Given that it's almost impossible to do so under the protection of one's subconscious, yet she did it anyway. One can imagine how helpless and desperate she must have felt, tearing open her stomach to remove a baby less than three months old…

With a breath, Chen Xuan opened his eyes again, his gaze turning extremely cold. Before the other person could speak, a faint purple light flashed in his eyes as he asked, "Tell me, why did you do this?"

The woman in red behind her glanced at the situation inside the room, then covered her mouth tightly with both hands, her eyes filled with disbelief.

Under Chen Xuan's pale purple gaze, the man's eyes vacantly returned as he instinctively replied, "I was merely following orders. I heard that my master obtained a secret recipe from who-knows-where, which involves cooking infants under three months old; eating them is said to prolong life..."

You beast!

Before he could finish speaking, Chen Xuan's eyes flashed, and the man's heart skipped a beat. He spat out a mouthful of blood and died on the spot.

So this is the fate of all those women imprisoned underground? What a Wu family, what a glamorous and prestigious family!

Turning around and walking out of the room, a smile inexplicably appeared on Chen Xuan's face, but it was a cold smile.

The woman in red, who had followed in fear, naturally heard those words as well. Considering the many women imprisoned, her expression became somewhat blank, as if something in her heart had collapsed.

She originally thought that young masters like Wu Jinxun were just indulging in extravagance and pleasure, and that noble families were bringing blessings to the people. But why was there such a dark side to it?
If Wu Jinxun hadn't provoked this person, would I have had the chance to witness all of this?

She suddenly felt that the world was unreal, and only now, despite her self-proclaimed extensive knowledge, did she truly see a corner of darkness.

Soon Chen Xuan went up the stairs to the next floor and kicked the heavy metal door open, alerting the guards stationed in the corridor.

The layout of this floor is similar to the floor below, only larger and much warmer, and the air is filled with an unpleasant odor.

Before the guards in the corridor could react, Chen Xuan gestured with his hand, and one of the guards' long swords flew up, the cold blade gliding across the air, slicing off their heads with a series of soft slicing sounds.

He opened a door with a blank expression. Inside, a large cauldron was set up, with a charcoal fire burning brightly underneath. Inside the cauldron, a curled-up corpse was being roasted, and corpse oil was flowing from a small hole into a porcelain bottle.

The old man in gray, who was watching the fire, turned around when he heard the noise behind him and met Chen Xuan's pale purple eyes. His expression instantly became empty.

Chen Xuan asked, "Why do you do this?" "To refine corpse oil for use in the eternal lamps of the tomb. It can also be lit to comfort the ancestors and pray for blessings upon future generations. Humans are the most intelligent of all beings; using corpse oil as lamp oil can convey our thoughts and feelings to our ancestors..."

Chen Xuan didn't want to listen anymore. His eyes flashed, and his heart pounded so hard that it exploded and he died.

As he turned to leave, his smile widened. What was there that they, in their high and mighty positions, couldn't do?
As Chen Xuan walked through the corridor on this floor, everything he passed was dead. He didn't even lift a finger, afraid of dirtying himself.

The woman in red following behind looked even more dazed. How could the world be so dark? How could they do such a thing?

Before long, Chen Xuan arrived at the upper floor, which was much larger and had a similar layout, with the same small rooms.

Pushing open any door, Chen Xuan found himself in a cozy room with a young woman inside. Though it was rather impolite, Chen Xuan noticed that her chest was bulging, not the firm, upright shape of a normal young girl, but rather swollen.

He muttered an apology to himself, and his eyes flashed with a pale purple light once more.

After listening expressionlessly, Chen Xuan sighed inwardly and thought to himself, "Go to sleep. It'll be over when I wake up."

His heart grew increasingly agitated and cold. Chen Xuan couldn't solve the problem, but he could deal with the person who caused it!

As he left, all the rooms on this floor were opened, and all but the imprisoned girls were found dead.

The door was clearly open, but just like the bottom floor, no one dared to come out.

Through the slight tremors, Chen Xuan knew that this was the top layer. Above that, he would return to the surface, but this place was located hundreds of feet underground.

Above ground lies the splendid capital city, but beneath lies a deplorable darkness.

'A touch of red is needed to color this darkness. I'm not a good person, I'm a bad person, to them!'

With this thought in mind, Chen Xuan prepared to climb the winding stairs.

At this moment, the woman in red following behind him knelt down with a thud, slamming her forehead against the stone floor until it bled profusely, showing no concern whatsoever about being disfigured.

She looked up, tears streaming down her face, and pleaded, "Sir, I don't know who you are. I am also a person with a tragic fate, but compared to them, how fortunate I am! I can do nothing, please, sir, give them justice. I know I am unworthy of your attention, but if you can give them justice, I am willing to be your slave for all eternity."

Chen Xuan stepped slightly aside to avoid the direction in which she was kowtowing, and with a slight raise of his hand, she could no longer kowtow.

Without turning his head, he calmly said, "There's no need for that. Don't kneel. I don't deserve your worship. I'm not a good person, and I don't deserve to give anyone justice. But I feel I should do something, do what I want to do, regardless of anyone else, simply because I want to do it."

He paused for a moment, then continued, "Find a place to hide. Well, this underground place is fine. Go out in half an hour. As for the future... I was going to say I hoped you would live a good life from now on, but I think I'll pass. Listen to me, this world is still worth living. Don't let the darkness before your eyes make you lose sight of the light of the world."

As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Xuan's figure disappeared in the blink of an eye.

The woman in red looked up, but Chen Xuan was no longer there. With tears of blood streaming down her face, she smiled gratefully and said thank you, even if you said it had nothing to do with anyone else.

She then got up and walked to the nearest room. Since she couldn't help in any way, she would do what she could. There were so many suffering women imprisoned, and she could at least say a few kind words of comfort to them.

Perhaps we could tell them that the suffering is over, but is that even possible?
Go up the stairs and destroy the traps and hidden weapons along the way to prevent those below from being harmed when they leave.

When Chen Xuan smashed a metal door and walked out from a rockery, he saw the night sky of the capital city once again.

"The moonlight is beautiful, and this magnificent manor is beautiful too. It seems this is just a secluded villa of the Wu family. Of course, how could they keep something shameful hidden away in their own backyard? Let's start here. After tonight, apart from the oppressed servants of the Wu family, we will strive to leave not a single chicken or dog alive. Anyone who gets in our way will die!"

"Young...who are you!"

The moment Chen Xuan emerged, the guards around the artificial hill spotted him and immediately questioned him in a deep voice.

With a faint purple light gleaming in his eyes, Chen Xuan smiled and said, "I'd like to know who the Wu family is, where they live, and if anyone knows the specifics about this manor."

"Yes, sir knows best," the guard replied, his eyes blank.

Chen Xuan asked again, "Wu Jinxun's father?"

"Yes"

Nodding, Chen Xuan said, "Lead the way."
