I am a master in India

Chapter 200 Chaos

Chapter 200 Chaos
"You're going to New Delhi?"

"Yes."

"I heard that's the worst city in India."

"It's not that exaggerated."

"only you?"

"And Anil and the others."

"No, I'm talking about women."

Who else do you want me to bring?

Ron turned his head in surprise, while Mary and Lena burst into laughter.

They are studying Sun Entertainment's next film, and the information that Old Dute gave them has already been initially screened.

"How about we invest in a romance film this time?" Lena asked eagerly.

“I love it!” Mary immediately agreed.

"A romance movie?" Ron was a little conflicted; he still preferred the superhuman feats his third brother had in movies.

For example, stopping a truck by hand, stopping a bullet with a manhole cover, and flying 300 meters off the ground may be mindless, but the audience enjoys watching them.

“Romance films have low production costs. Look, this director is someone we know,” Mary said, pointing to the name on the film list.

"Who?" Ron asked curiously as he leaned closer.

"Vinod Chopra, Anu's husband."

“It’s him.” Ron had a vague recollection of it, but not much.

However, Chopra is indeed considered one of their own; he is Anu's husband and Vikram's brother-in-law.

Ron had recently pleaded with Thackeray on Anu's behalf, saving her sworn brother. Vikram had written advertising copy for Suer Electric Appliances, so they were old acquaintances.

"I'll find some time to invite Anu and the others out for a cup of tea," he decided immediately.

"Yay!" Lena clapped and cheered.

"By the way, what's the name of the movie?"

“Love in the Time of War,” Mary replied.

"This name sounds so romantic, what's the budget?"

"About fifty million rupees."

"Cough!" Ron choked. "This is the low-budget romance film you were talking about?"

“We’re not the only investors,” Mary said, looking at him strangely.

She and Lena had been in Bollywood longer than Ron and knew a lot of inside information.

Chopra comes from a film family in Punjab; both of his older brothers are veteran film professionals.

Upon graduation, he made a short film called "Passing By," about homeless children in India, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film that year.

Chopra's two other art films after that also received unanimous praise from the industry, but they were critically acclaimed but not commercially successful.

Faced with economic pressure, he began to switch to making commercial films, such as thrillers and crime films.

"The White Dove" is the most well-known film, and Mumbai gangsters love it. They say it's the first time an Indian director has depicted their lives so realistically.

This film is also considered a milestone in the history of Hindi films, receiving widespread acclaim and winning numerous awards.

With that level of fame, Chopra has no shortage of funding to make movies.

Otherwise, Duterte wouldn't have included it on the list; it's a project where only acquaintances can get a piece of the pie.

"Alright, you guys decide what to do, but it's best not to squander all 20 million rupees at once."

“We know how,” Mary and Lena said confidently.

Having served as producers, they are already bona fide Bollywood filmmakers.

Ron trusted them; they were at least more professional than he, a complete novice.

"Speaking of which, when will Sandy Dutt be released?" Mary couldn't help but gossip, referring to the latest hot news in Bollywood.

“It’s almost done, it’s still going through the process.” Ron thought of Aijie.

He has just been transferred and needs to be replaced by a new police inspector before the revised report can be submitted.

There was also some trouble at the court; Thackeray's words were unusually ineffective there.

Ron expects Sanjay Dutt to spend several more months in jail.

With so many people following the case, Aijie's resistance added fuel to the fire of the news.

No matter how much the Mumbai government follows the lead of Shiva, it would not dare to openly slack off.

Once the hype dies down, everything will be easier.

“I’ve heard that the gangs in Mumbai have been acting up lately, so be careful.” Ron thought of the rumors he’d heard from the accountant, Harus.

“We’re just nobody,” Mary shrugged innocently. “You’re the big shot.”

"In short, don't be careless. And that Mrs. Elizabeth, I feel that woman is not to be trifled with."

"Did you see her last time?" Mary's smile faded.

"I only heard her voice, with a barrier in between. I have a photo she gave me, but I forgot to bring it."

"No need, we know what she looks like."

“That’s right!” Lena nodded.

"Okay, and that eunuch servant, he's terrifying."

"That guy seems to be leaving the palace quite often lately."

"Hmm?" Ron was somewhat surprised. "Wasn't it said that he was always by Lady Elizabeth's side?"

"Who knows, they're definitely plotting something bad again." Lena frowned in disgust.

"Don't cause her any trouble lately. We can talk about it later," Ron advised.

He has dozens of bodyguards around him and is not afraid of any Mumbai gangs.

He worried that Mary and Lena might be too overconfident and fall into a trap.

"Don't worry, it's not the right time yet," Mary replied softly.

Sigh, these two girls are no pushovers either.

Despite Ron's repeated attempts to subtly probe, they remained unwilling to elaborate.

Ron respected their wishes and decided not to ask any further questions. Ron planned to go to New Delhi in December; before that, he had some things to take care of in Mumbai.

First, there's Suer Electric Appliances. The company is on the right track. After holding a meeting with the heads of each department, he can let go.

There's not much to say about the travel agency; Nia can handle it. She'll be staying in Mumbai this time.

Vinod, who runs the travel agency, is still in Kuwait, where Ron recently opened a new office.

Ron has visited Rahul's studio several times in the past few days, mainly to discuss some design details.

While we're at it, we'll also inquire about the backgrounds of the tenants in those buildings in the northeast corner, as well as information about the owners.

Finally, there's Luca and Anand, the deal that makes Ron most hesitant.

"Make sure to explain the contract details to them, including any side effects and risks."

“Ron, they don’t understand this,” Anand said, shaking his head helplessly.

"Can't understand?"

“Some of them don’t even have names and can’t speak Hindi.”

"Then just tell them they might die, that's easy."

"said."

"and then?"

“They don’t care; those people were already likely to die anyway. After hearing that we were offering money here, hundreds and thousands of people came and asked us to take them in.”

Because Merck needs to regularly monitor the health of its patients, in addition to providing money, it also distributes some food as relief.

This has completely devastated the plight of Mumbai's sidewalk residents, who are now homeless and penniless.

Living in this city is pure suffering; we just have to get through each day as it comes.

They give you 500 rupees for each injection, plus food.

This is paradise!
The small courtyard that Anand and his group rented has now become a sanctuary.

Just like the shelter he took Ron to before, the homeless now filled the alleyways around the courtyard, hoping that one day they could wear green wristbands.

Ron moved his lips, but suddenly didn't know what to say.

“Anand, once I’ve earned 100 million rupees, I’ll build a hospital in Mumbai, a very affordable one.”

"A hospital that treats the poor?"

"Yes."

He smiled happily, "Ron Baba, you're a good person."

Ron gave a wry smile.

"In short, you are not allowed to accept children, no matter what. At worst, you can give them some money privately to send them away."

"Yes!" Anand shook his head happily again.

"Let's go, I'm going to the bank, I'll drop you off at Luca's place on the way."

"Let's go eat first. I found a really good restaurant, so good that you'll be stuffed."

“Okay.” Ron laughed.

They parked their car on the side of the road and sat at an outdoor table in a restaurant to enjoy authentic Indian food.

Steaming hot roasted chicken, served in a metal container, was then brought to Ron and his companions.

The weather at the end of November was beginning to feel cool. The rising steam blurred the street scene in front of me.

Suddenly Ron spotted a figure in the crowd—Abu.

Lady Elizabeth's eunuch servant stared at Ron with malice and hatred on his face, his expression ugly.

"Ron, what's wrong?" Anand turned his head in surprise.

Abu's face vanished in an instant.

"Nothing?" Ron winked at someone beside him.

Anil quietly got up and slipped into the crowd with two other people.

"Any rumors circulating on the streets lately?"

"Rajesh divorced his wife," Anand said happily while eating skewers.

"Who?" Ron was stunned.

“Rajesh. You forgot, he helped us when we were running a travel company.”

Memories from over a year ago surfaced in Ron's mind, and he remembered the policeman at Victoria train station.

In less than two years, the nobody he used to have to fawn over has now truly become nobody.

“I remember you said that his wife slept with a conman.”

“Yes, she was unlucky this time; Rajesh caught her red-handed while she was having sex,” Anand laughed.

"Wow, I'm surprised Rajesh didn't send her to jail."

“No, Ron Baba. Rajesh is only able to be a patrolman thanks to his father-in-law.”

Ron understood; Rajesh had gotten there through nepotism.

One can imagine that if his wife were an ordinary Indian woman, she might have been beaten to death.

Divorce is the most frustrating way Rajesh can deal with this situation; he might be laughed at by his colleagues for the rest of his life.

Just then, Anil returned with his men. He shook his head at Ron, indicating that he hadn't found anyone.

Ron became even more wary; this Abu didn't seem to be an ordinary person.

Three people went to surround him, but they couldn't catch him. He must be quite skilled.

"Anand, don't wander around alone if you don't have to. Mumbai is in a lot of chaos lately."

"I know, Ron Baba, Mumbai is chaotic every day."

Ron couldn't be bothered with this guy. He'd been working his way up in the lower classes for years and knew the rules here.

After seeing Anand off, Ron had a long talk with Amor in secret.

He really wanted to take over those dilapidated buildings northeast of Suer Electric Appliances.

He's going to New Delhi soon; it's best to address the Sur Park issue on two fronts simultaneously.
