Chapter 387 One Day Bitten by a Snake

Chapter 387 Once Bitten by a Snake (Fourth Update)
"Follow me!" Li Jingyi gracefully leaned back into the water like a mermaid, her body drawing a perfect arc, barely stirring up a splash.

Chen Xi followed closely behind, and the warm seawater instantly embraced her whole body, as if she were being gently lifted up by countless gentle hands.

The moment Chen Xi entered the water, it felt as if he had fallen into a completely new universe.

Through the clear water, he saw Li Jingyi making an "OK" sign in front of him. The sunlight wove a dreamy net of light underwater, outlining her figure like a sea sprite. Her dark blue figure stretched out in the azure water, like a dynamic watercolor painting.

The seawater was breathtakingly clear, and sunlight pierced through the surface, casting shimmering beams of light on the seabed, like countless golden ribbons dancing in the water.

Tiny bubbles slowly rise from the respirator, refracting a rainbow of light in the ambient light.

All he could hear was the sound of flowing water and his own breathing; the world became quiet and profound.

Before us lies a vibrant underwater forest.

The colorful coral reefs are layered upon each other, some branching like deer antlers, some round like mushrooms, and others spreading out like a fan.

Orange-red fire coral, indigo-blue gorgonian coral, and emerald-green soft coral intertwine and sway gently with the current, as if performing a silent dance.

Schools of fish of various shapes and sizes dart through the water—yellow and black butterflyfish glide gracefully by, blue-green parrotfish nibble at corals with their hard beaks, and shimmering silver snapper swim in groups, like a flowing sheet of metal foil.

An elderly sea turtle slowly swam past them, its shell covered with mottled algae, like the marks of time.

It lazily swung its fins, casting a shadow that moved slowly across the sand, only to be quickly surrounded by a group of curious little fish.

Li Jingyi led the way like an elegant dolphin.

Her competitive swimsuit shimmered in the water, and her long legs swayed gently, creating a string of sparkling bubbles that resembled scattered diamonds in the sunlight.

Her movements were fluid and precise, each kick perfectly timed, creating almost no unnecessary water flow.

She suddenly turned around, made a "follow me" gesture to Chen Xi, and then nimbly disappeared into a clump of staghorn coral.

The intertwined coral branches formed a natural archway, through which a few timid damselfish could be vaguely seen peeking out.

Chen Xi followed closely behind, passing through the coral tunnel.

The scene here is even more dreamlike—purple soft corals, like wisteria blossoms on the seabed, stretch and close with the current; a group of clownfish frolic among the coral reefs, their orange and white figures nimbly weaving among the tentacle-like anemones, showing no fear of these two uninvited guests.

Li Jingyi stopped next to a huge brain coral, its surface crisscrossed with grooves, like a fossil of some ancient creature.

She gently touched its surface, and the coral polyp immediately recoiled alertly, leaving only its grayish-white skeleton.

She winked at Chen Xi and made a "touch" gesture.

When Chen Xi's fingers touched the coral, the rough texture came from his fingertips, along with the coolness of the seawater and the pulse of life.

Li Jingyi suddenly swam closer, and their masks almost touched.

Through the clear seawater, Chen Xi could clearly see the smile in her eyes; her amber pupils shone like underwater treasures in the sunlight.

She pointed to her ear, then to the sky—a school of silver sardines was gliding overhead, thousands upon thousands of fish forming a flowing silver screen, sometimes scattering, sometimes gathering, refracting ever-changing light and shadow in the sunlight.

The whirlpool formed by the school of fish enveloped the two of them, as if they were in a silent ocean storm.

Just then, Li Jingyi's movements suddenly froze.

The figure that was gracefully swimming just a second ago suddenly froze, like a movie scene paused on pause. Her eyes widened, her pupils contracted sharply behind the mirror, her body trembled violently, and her fingers unconsciously reached for her calves.

Chen Xi's heart tightened, and he quickly swam towards her.

Through the clear seawater, he saw a black and white striped sea snake swimming away from Li Jingyi's calves, its slender body twisting and disappearing into the crevices of the coral.

On her bare calves, two tiny teeth marks were oozing dark red blood, which spread into a faint red mist in the azure seawater.

Almost instinctively, Chen Xi's spiritual energy erupted instantly.

An invisible force field spread out from him, and the surrounding seawater was pushed aside to form a brief bubble space.

He grabbed Li Jingyi's waist and could feel her muscles spasming uncontrollably.

Through the mirror, Chen Xi saw the terror spreading rapidly in her pupils, and her rapid breathing condensed into a white mist on the mirror surface—the snake venom was eroding her nervous system at an alarming rate.

Without a moment's hesitation, Chen Xi tightened his arms and held Li Jingyi firmly in his embrace, his spiritual energy flowing through his body like an electric current.

He kicked off with both legs with a force far exceeding human limits, violently tearing the seawater apart, and the two of them broke through the water like torpedoes.

A dozen seconds later, they burst out of the water like cannonballs, and with the force of their momentum, they crashed heavily onto the beach, creating a wave of golden sand.

Chen Xi quickly laid Li Jingyi flat on the beach.

Her lips had begun to turn blue, and her breathing became weak and disordered.

He ripped off the straps of his diving gear and tied them tightly around her calves above her knees to prevent the venom from spreading.

When he saw the blood seeping from the wound was an unhealthy dark red, he did not hesitate to bend down and suck out the venom with his mouth.

Each time the poisonous blood was vomited, it left a shocking mark on the beach, until the last blood sucked out finally returned to its bright red color.

At this moment, Li Jingyi had completely fallen into a coma, her eyelashes casting dappled shadows on her pale face.

Chen Xi looked around; this deserted beach was at least five kilometers away from the nearest tourist area.

The speedboat in the distance bobbed on the waves, looking like a tiny white dot.

He took a deep breath, picked up Li Jingyi horizontally, and used his psionic energy to lift them off the ground, skimming across the sea at an astonishing speed.

When they landed on the speedboat, the deck didn't even shake noticeably.

Chen Xi didn't waste time starting the engine. Instead, he used his psionic energy to lift the anchor and then enveloped the boat in it to propel the speedboat.

The bow cleaved through the waves, hurtling toward the shore at a speed far exceeding its design limits. If he hadn't enveloped the ship in psionic energy, it would most likely have fallen apart.

At the same time, he used a satellite phone to accurately describe Li Jingyi's symptoms and location.

When the speedboat docked, the ambulance was already waiting at the pier with its blue lights flashing, and the medical staff quickly lifted Li Jingyi onto a stretcher.

Watching Li Jingyi being lifted into the ambulance, Chen Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time, he realized that his hands were still trembling uncontrollably, and the wetsuit on his back was already soaked with cold sweat.
