Chapter 368 The Destruction Ritual
Chapter 368 The Destruction Ritual (First Update)
Despite receiving support from Inquisitor Craig and the Battle Sisters, Zanazt's reincarnation ritual still completed its final stage without any obstacles.
Deep within the cave, an altar made of 8,888 human skulls suddenly trembled simultaneously.
Scarlet runes appeared on the surface of those skulls that gleamed with a bluish-black luster, and blinding blood light suddenly burst forth from the sunken eye sockets, as if countless vengeful spirits were shrieking in the cranial cavity.
Thick blood gushed from the eye sockets of the skull, pooling on the surface of the altar to form a churning pool of blood, emitting a foul stench of putridity mixed with sulfur.
Arya's pale body convulsed violently in the center of the blood pool, her once beautiful face now twisted into an inhuman shape.
With a chilling "crack," her body was completely enveloped in demonic flesh, the surging blood clinging to her as if alive, each drop corroding the last vestiges of her humanity.
When the last bone completes its transformation, the reincarnated demon prince fully awakens amidst the blasphemous energy.
Dark red scales emerged from beneath the skin like living armor, gleaming with a metallic sheen in the bloody light.
At the ends of its long limbs, sharp bone claws easily sliced through hard rocks, and its tail swept across the blood pool like a steel whip, stirring up waves of putrid blood.
Two spiraling demon horns were slowly growing on his forehead, and crimson blood dripped continuously from the broken bone wings on his back.
Zanazt proclaimed his rebirth with a roar, the terrifying demonic sound filled with the joy of a successful reincarnation.
The sound was like rusty saw teeth rubbing against a skull, the sonic waves mixed with subspace energy forming visible blood-red ripples.
The ancient stalactites hanging from the cave ceiling shattered under this force, and sharp stone cones poured down like a torrential rain, only to be crushed into dust by an invisible force field as they approached the newborn demon.
The entire cave was shaking violently, and dark red liquid seeped from the rock walls, as if the whole mountain was bleeding for the birth of a demon.
"Defensive formation!" The battle nun squad leader's roar exploded in the communication channel, almost drowning out the demonic howls echoing through the cave.
The well-trained nuns reacted instantly. With a clang of metal, they quickly formed a tight formation, their finely crafted rose-embroidered shields linked together to form an unbreakable steel barrier.
Rocks rained down, striking the shield and sparking blinding sparks; each blow was accompanied by a heavy metallic tremor.
"Boom—!" A fragment of stalactite the size of a millstone slammed into the shield wall at the front, and the nun holding the shield let out a muffled groan.
The servo joints of the dual-arm armor groaned under the strain, and the power armor's hydraulic system churned frantically, trying to counteract the terrifying impact.
Her boots carved two deep furrows in the rocky ground, but her stance remained firm, her faith sustaining her and preventing her from retreating an inch.
However, the real threat has only just begun.
The demon unfurled its dark red membranous wings, unleashing a stench-filled hurricane that carried the stench of sulfur and putrid blood.
The three closest combat nuns didn't even have time to adjust their posture before they were blown away by the violent airflow and slammed into the rock wall like kites with broken strings.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The heavy power armor slammed into the stone wall, leaving spiderweb-like cracks. One of the nuns' shoulder armors was completely deformed, and beneath the shattered ceramic armor, the servo system continuously emitted blinding sparks.
Her spear flew from her hand, tracing a silvery arc through the air before finally plunging into the churning pool of blood. The moment the fine gold spear tip touched the boiling, rotting blood, it emitted a teeth-grinding sizzling sound, instantly corroding away and turning into a wisp of smoke that dissipated into the crimson mist.

Meanwhile, deep within the Gothic arcades of Upper Nest Crest Manor, Mai Mai's squad of law enforcement officers was advancing with overwhelming force.
The plasma pistol traced several eerie blue trails in the dimly lit corridor, as precise as the Grim Reaper's scythe.
Three noble private soldiers dressed in scarlet formal attire had just emerged from behind the gilded pillars and had not yet raised their laser rifles when an overloaded plasma blast bombarded them head-on.
"Swoosh—!" The high-temperature plasma instantly melted through their bulletproof chest armor, and the scorching energy flowed through their bodies, exploding a bowl-sized hole in their backs.
Inside the charred chest cavity, the still-beating heart was clearly visible between the scorched and deformed ribs, and the rising mist of blood mixed with the smell of roasted meat permeated the corridor.
"Left flank cleared!" a Storm Loyalty Army sergeant accompanying the group reported loudly.
"Forward! Don't let any enemy escape! Kill the enemies of the Empire without mercy!" Mai Mai's voice was as cold and hard as iron as her power boots slammed heavily into the gilded gate engraved with the family crest.
With a screeching sound of metal deforming, the heavy door panel crashed down, the gilded coating peeling off and scattering gold dust across the dark red carpet.
Without wasting a moment, the law enforcement officers behind him launched three stun grenades into the hall in parabolic arcs.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!" The intense light from the explosion burst forth like a miniature sun, illuminating the entire hall, which was adorned with crystal chandeliers, as if it were daytime.
A dozen cultists who were drawing blood symbols on the floor let out a shrill scream. Their bloodshot eyes were temporarily blinded by the bright light, and their ritual daggers, covered in filth, clattered to the ground.
MaiMai didn't give them any chance to catch their breath.
The explosive pistol spat deadly fire in his hand, while the plasma pistol, overheated from continuous firing, was neatly tucked back into his waistband.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" The precise shots were like the Grim Reaper calling out names, and five heads exploded one after another like ripe fruit.
Red and white brain matter splattered radially, making the unfinished blasphemous runes even more grotesque. Thick liquid slowly flowed along the twisted lines, as if offering a final sacrifice to this evil ritual.
Meanwhile, Dusk's assault team was quietly infiltrating along the western sewage pipe.
The putrid sewage was up to their combat boots, and suspicious lumps floated in the viscous liquid, each step accompanied by a nauseating gurgling sound.
The twilight multispectral visual installation, flashing red lights in the darkness, scanned the dim passageway clearly.
The iron fence blocking the road ahead appeared as a cold blue outline in the thermal image, with the wrist-thick iron bars covered in rust.
"Prepare to break through." He gave the order in a low voice, and the modified hot melt gun immediately emitted a humming sound as it charged up with energy.
A beam of blazing white light shot out, and the iron fence instantly melted into molten red iron at a temperature of thousands of degrees, dripping into the sewage and stirring up bursts of pungent white smoke.
The scout bent down without hesitation and passed by. The molten iron dripped onto his shoulder armor and made a sizzling sound, but he didn't even flinch.
"Altar spotted!" A moment later, a hoarse report came through the communicator, accompanied by heavy breathing: "It's a large one...we need fire support."
