Chapter 333 Fierce Confrontation

Chapter 333 Fierce Confrontation

32 took Guterres and his killing squad with him, along with Titus's squad.

At Chen Xi's special instruction, they also brought sea hares.

The group boarded the MaiMai and the Dusk Gebronte and quietly left the front lines, heading towards the sector capital.

Their departure had almost no impact on the battlefield situation. After all, it was just two Space Marine squads and a light warship, and the front line had no shortage of such combat power.

The real storm was still raging on Kherson III—ever since Chen Xi ordered the ancient ruins of Kroc, which were frozen in the ground, to be pulled up from the surface, the greenskins were furious as if their ancestral graves had been dug up, and they launched wave after wave of crazy attacks on the Imperial Army's positions.

The orcs' offensive was extremely fierce, and the entire front line was under tremendous pressure.

However, Chen Xi was prepared – he had the Warlord-level Titans continuously stationed at the defensive line, and with their overwhelming firepower and shields, they managed to hold back the Greenskins' horde.

As long as the orcs cannot send out stronger ancient giants, the Imperial army's defenses will not collapse for the time being.

But the leaders of the Mechanicus were almost driven mad.

This Warmaster-class Titan was priceless to them, especially since it could even perform psionic teleportation! In the eyes of the Mechanicus, this was nothing short of a miracle!
Such a precious technological creation should have been carefully enshrined in the Temple of Forging for research, but now it is forced to fight against the filthy greenskins on the battlefield!

"This is blasphemy against Om Messiah!" the sages of the Mechanicus roared in fury.

The high sages of the Cult of Mechanics were almost driven to madness, their data streams bombarding Chen Xi's communication terminal every second.

These fanatical binary curses, mixed with threatening mechanical code, unleashed an electronic storm in the data space.

As for the fate of those ordinary soldiers on the Kherson III?
In the eyes of the Mechanicus, these flesh-and-blood bodies are not even worth as much as a spare part of a Titan.

Even if the entire Imperial army in the star sector were reduced to ashes, these red-robed mechanical believers would not shed a single drop of oil for it.

But if that precious Warmaster-class Titan were to suffer even the slightest damage... this thought caused a brief disruption in the logical circuits of all the sages.

Even sacrificing the entire imperial army of the galaxy could not compensate for such a devastating loss!
Faced with this hysterical bombardment of data, Chen Xi's reaction was nothing short of ruthless.

He casually marked all Mechanicus communications as junk, letting the servo skull filter out the noisy binary noise and send it to the secondary processor.

When forced to respond, his reply was brief and cold: "Instead of wasting energy complaining, speed up the installation of the transmission device."

When this cold reply reached the Mechanical Ark, it caused an uproar no less than a small data disaster.

In Chen Xi's view, as long as the Cult of Mechanics can complete the planetary teleportation as soon as possible and smash the entire green-skinned planet directly into the Throne of the Necromancers in space, all problems can be solved.

The cooling systems of several high-ranking sages were instantly overloaded, and the servo motors emitted a humming sound as if they were under unbearable strain.

Some even activated their forged battle axes, and if they hadn't been stopped by their still-rational colleagues with mechanical tentacles, they probably would have actually piloted the shuttle to "argue" with Chen Xi.

Ultimately, they could only unleash a series of piercing binary screams through full-band broadcasting, so grating that even the servo skull actively shut down the audio receiver.

Meanwhile, Croc's fate took a subtle turn. This ancient, frozen threat was not cast into the star, but was secretly transferred to the deepest part of the Black Ship.

There, a special cell constructed of black stone was ready, surrounded by the relentless gaze of the silent nuns.

Chen Xi's unexpected decision left everyone baffled; only he himself knew the potential role this dangerous trophy might play in future plans.

Intimidated by Chen Xi's tough stance, the Mechanicus ultimately chose to compromise, even though their data stream still flashed with disgruntled binary profanities.

In near-Earth orbit, the Sages brought their respective Forging Arks.

These massive ships slowly adjusted their attitude, pointing their cannons at the planet's surface, ready to provide orbital support to ground forces at any time.

Meanwhile, the mechanical priests on the ground were setting up the teleportation device with near-frenzied efficiency, the clicking of gears and the buzzing of plasma cutting echoing throughout the landing area.

Through the observation window, one can see organized units of the Christian Guard being thrown into the battlefield without any regard for their well-being.

These expensive elite troops were being consumed like cheap cannon fodder, with dozens of mechanical bodies turning into scrap metal in explosions every second.

Inside the command bridge, the mechanical priests, clad in red robes, coldly observed everything.

Their mechanical prosthetic eyes constantly zoomed in and out, precisely calculating the battle loss ratio and advance speed, yet not a single wave of pity stirred within their logic circuits.

For the Cult of Mechanics, as long as the Divine Machine is safe, any price is acceptable—even if it means sacrificing the entire sector's Guardians.

Even more outrageous, the high priests even attempted to mobilize the Rustblade Legion, a Titan legion.

Fortunately, Chen Xi stopped their transfer order in time. He directly cut off the data link between the Mechanicus and the Rustblade Legion, allowing this powerful Titan Legion to remain on the front line in Kharkov and preventing the front line from wavering.

He knew all too well how recklessly stupid things these madmen of the Mechanics Cult were capable of doing in order to "protect" their so-called divine machine.

Although the battle there is nearing its end and the Imperial army is clearing out the remaining rebels, rashly withdrawing the Titan Legion could still leave gaps in the defenses.

Although the fighting in Kharkiv seems to be nearing its end and the Titan Legion is no longer needed to hold the line, the battle in Kherson is not yet at the point where the Titan Legion needs to be deployed.

After several rounds of intense data clashes between various forces, the final compromise was that, apart from the Rustblade Legion continuing to garrison the original defensive line, the other Titans, including Caul's mysterious Autonomous War General and Chen Xi's own Warhounds, were allowed to reinforce the Herson battlefield.

This decision forced the Cult of Mechanics to accept the status quo, although their binary prayers were still filled with doubts about Chen Xi's decision-making logic.

However, Chen Xi was too lazy to explain to them, or rather, he knew that such an explanation was doomed to be futile.

Unless he withdraws the Warmaster-level Titans from the battle, the Mechanicus will inevitably disagree with him.

In situations where there is a fundamental conflict of principles between the two sides, it is better to find a way to resolve the issue first than to waste time explaining.
