Chapter 323 Repelling the Green Tide
Chapter 323 Repelling the Green Tide
"WAAAAAAGH!!!" The deafening battle cry tore through the frigid winds of the icy plains, and countless green-skinned orcs surged toward the Imperial army's defenses like a tidal wave.
They were covered in tattered rags and rusty iron sheets, rivets and scrap metal were haphazardly tied to their bodies, and they waved "guns" pieced together from garbage. The crudely welded joints were still emitting heat, and the barrels were crooked, yet they strangely emitted a blinding green light.
On their opposite side, the Imperial Army's defenses were already fully prepared.
On the steel wall built by a million reinforcements, heavy explosive guns, laser cannon arrays, and automatic turrets opened fire simultaneously, and the scorching barrage of bullets wove together a web of death, tearing the charging green-skinned soldiers to shreds.
But these orcs are no longer what they used to be. Under the radiation of the ancient power of Krok, their equipment has undergone a terrifying mutation.
Under the distortion of the WAR force field, those originally fragile iron plates strangely "evolved" into rough but indestructible power armor. Laser beams hitting them could only create a string of sparks, and bombs could only leave shallow dents.
Even more frightening is that the "junk weapons" in the hands of the greens are also undergoing a crazy transformation.
The iron pipe guns that could only fire randomly were now able to fire plasma blasts powerful enough to penetrate the armor of a chimera; the "big bang bangs" made of scrap metal and tires could even blow up half a bunker.
The Astronauts gritted their teeth, their defensive lines shrinking under the Orks' relentless assault.
The recruits were horrified to discover that the orc leaders were appearing more and more frequently. These strong orc warriors, whose size far exceeded that of ordinary orcs, wielded large slashes and spears and could easily crush an entire squad of soldiers. Only Astartes could match them.
However, the number of Astartes along the entire defensive line is dwindling, and the remaining Blood Knight forces are no longer sufficient to maintain the defense of the entire line.
Even more despairingly, the enormous figures of the Killing Iron Cannons began to emerge from the green tide. With heavy steps, they used their modified "super cannons" to blast the Imperial Army's positions into scorched earth.
The skies were no longer safe either. With the piercing roar of engines, red-painted orc fighter jets swept past, dropping a series of explosive scrap metal lumps that blasted the anti-aircraft positions into flames.
The battle is spiraling out of control. Kroc's power is spreading like a plague; every second, the greenskins are getting stronger, crazier, and more WAAAGH!

On the battlefield amidst howling blizzards, the Imperial Army's defenses teetered on the brink of collapse under the onslaught of the Greenskin horde.
The soldiers gripped their scorching laser guns tightly, their sweat and blood freezing into ice crystals in the extreme cold, clinging to their eyelashes and beards.
The communication channels were filled with desperate cries and dying breaths; the defense line was on the verge of collapse.
At this critical moment, a strange change suddenly occurred on the battlefield—the terrifying green light that enveloped the green-skinned creatures vanished abruptly, like flames being extinguished by an invisible hand.
The orc boys, who were originally flashing with WAAAGH! energy, were still roaring as they charged forward, but the suffocating sense of oppression had clearly weakened.
An old soldier with a face covered in blood was the first to notice something was wrong. He looked up sharply and found that the green-skinned soldiers rushing towards him were moving much more slowly.
Those machetes that used to easily tear through bulletproof armor can now only leave shallow marks on terrazzo plates; those crudely made "bang-bang guns" no longer fire bullets that can easily penetrate cover as easily as before.
"They've become weaker!" Someone shouted from the trenches, and the words spread like wildfire across the position. The company commanders initially thought this was a sign that the decapitation strike tactic had worked—according to the Imperial Infantry Tactics Manual, the greenskins, without the WAR field, should crumble like mollusks with their spines removed.
But the scene before them defied common sense.
Although these orcs have lost the green light, they still maintain a chilling fighting spirit.
They continued their charge, baring their fangs, their shattered limbs still twitching as they tried to grasp their weapons, as if the WAR field was still driving them.
The oracle operators of the Imperial fleet in orbit were the first to detect the anomaly on the battlefield.
On the holographic tactical map, the combat strength of the Greenskins has clearly decreased. Although their WAR field is still strong, it is undeniable that they have indeed become weaker.
This crucial intelligence spread like wildfire throughout the entire battlefield.
The buzzing of encrypted commands echoed through the communication channels, and data streams surged through the tactical network, delivering news of the turning point in the battle to every standby unit.
The commanders of the armored forces received the order to attack almost simultaneously, and green dots representing the timing of the counterattack lit up like stars on the holographic tactical map.
The Leman Rustank swarm, which had been poised for action, roared deafeningly, its diesel engines spewing thick black exhaust fumes, and its wide tracks grinding through the frozen ground, leaving deep furrows in the ice field.
The roar of the main guns rose and fell, and amidst the whistling of armor-piercing shells cutting through the air, the green-skinned creatures, stripped of their energy shields, fell in droves like stalks of wheat being harvested by a scythe.
The shockwave from the explosion sent up a cloud of blood mist, and green limbs and severed parts flew through the air before crashing heavily onto the frozen ground.
The Chimera armored vehicle formation advanced like a steel torrent, with heavy explosive guns on the roofs spitting fire and weaving a dense network of crossfire.
The vehicle-mounted automatic turret constantly adjusted its angle, tearing the green-skinned lads who were trying to gather into pieces.
The infantrymen advanced steadily under the cover of armored vehicles, while the volleys of laser gun fire, like scarlet raindrops, precisely targeted and killed any who managed to escape.
In the sky, the Lightning fighter squadron grabbed their aircraft and swooped down, the missile pods under their wings spewing out a deadly rain of bullets.
Precision-guided missiles, as if guided by eyes, slipped into the gaps of the green-skinned war machine. Those steel behemoths that could once withstand the bombardment of laser cannons were now reduced to burning scrap metal in the face of modern weapons.
The explosion illuminated the entire sky, and thick smoke rose like a giant pillar.
With the addition of the orbital fleet's macro cannons, the counterattack reached its climax.
The barrage of artillery fire from the sky was like divine punishment, completely engulfing the orc vanguard in a wave of flames and steel.
The massive shockwave even altered the local terrain, leaving several craters hundreds of meters in diameter on the ice field, filled with twisted metal and charred corpses.
Seeing that the vanguard had been wiped out, the remaining Greenskins surprisingly chose to retreat—a rare occurrence in the Orcs' combat records.
They dropped their weapons and shoved each other as they fled backward, and for the first time, the green tide showed signs of receding.
