Chapter 309 Warmaster-Level Psionic Titan

Chapter 309 Warmaster-Level Psionic Titan

"I object! I absolutely object to sending a divine machine into battle alone! (omitting five minutes of binary profanity)" On the Imperial fleet in the Kharkov orbit, Kaul was leading a group of Mechanicus sages in protesting to Chen Xi.

The reason is quite simple: in order to transfer troops from the Kharkov front to support Kherson, Chen Xi somehow obtained a Titan and deployed it to the battle on the planet's surface, thereby freeing up the Blood Knights' fighting force so that they could go and support Kherson.

This undoubtedly infuriated a group of tech enthusiasts, who simply could not tolerate a Titan entering the battlefield alone without wingmen or Titan guards.

What these sages found particularly intolerable was that this was a Titan that did not belong to any Titan Legion, and its model was a Warmaster-level psionic Titan that even Kaul had never seen before!

(Psionic Titan)
Leaving aside the Warmaster-level, the Psionic Titan alone is enough to drive the entire Cult of Mechanics crazy.

According to the records of the Mechanicus, there are only 25 of these terrifying war machines, and all of them are of the general class.

Those were 25 Warlord-class Titans that the Emperor permanently requisitioned from the Cult of Mechanics during the Great Crusade.

At the time, Mars was filled with strong discontent over this requisition, but the Mechanicus eventually compromised after negotiations with the Emperor.

Eight were transferred from the Martian stockpile, and the remaining shortage was made up by the production capacity of other foundries, resulting in a total of 25 Warlord-class Warlords for the Emperor.

This batch of general-class Titans belonged to an organization called the Order of Omens, which was directly under the Emperor's command. Like the Order of the Guard and the Sisters of Silence, the Order of Omens was directly under the Emperor's command, rather than other imperial institutions.

This batch of Warlord-class Titans were also transformed into terrifying psionic Titans in the palace of Holy Terra.

The Psionic Titans employed a forbidden Dark Age technology—the Ciricrux Anima Device—instead of the standard Titans' conventional configuration.

These Titans are piloted by three psykers who are surgically fixed to the cockpit, while command is held by an untouchable.

This unique combination allows the Psionic Titan to trigger massive psionic phenomena, including but not limited to projecting fear, launching psionic shocks, performing mind transfers, and even locally distorting time.

However, the most terrifying weapon of the Psionic Titans is the Sinistramanus Tenebrae, also known as the Psionic Cannon.

This weapon can gather the full power of psykers bound inside the Titan, tearing through the fabric of reality like a vortex weapon, creating a rift to the warp in the target area.

The Imperial's recorded official involvement of the Psionic Titans in military operations is the Defence of Helioret, a sector attacked by Eldar pirates in 960.M30. Additionally, Eldar raider forces from the largely destroyed Ark world Magc'Sithraal also joined the battle.

As Ida destroys and slaughters planets one by one in the galaxy, the Imperial Auxiliary Force, the Titan Legion, and the Blood Angels Legion all join the battle, but they struggle greatly when facing the Wraith Titans of the Ark world.

(Nether Titan)
(War Witch Titan)
As Saint Gilles led the Blood Angels Legion in a full-scale assault on the Ark World, an unexpected reinforcement suddenly joined the battle—more than twenty black ships carrying the Silent Sisters and the Omen Order's warrior-class Titans, fighting alongside the Angels' Sons' fleet.

However, the Eldar resisted fiercely.

Under the enemy's dense psionic artillery barrage, the Blood Angels' fleet suffered heavy losses. Even more terrifying, a Warlock Titan known as the "Witch-Idol" stood in the center of the battlefield.

This spectral titan, powered by the souls of countless war shamans and prophets, had repeatedly defeated the Imperial army, with no record of ever successfully repelling it. The Empire's first wave of offensive was completely thwarted, and the second wave, launched by the titan legion, also suffered a devastating blow—the war shaman titan's psionic spear pierced directly through the core of an Imperial titan, triggering a violent secondary explosion.

Although Saint Gilles himself successfully destroyed one of the Nether Guardians in this battle, the situation remained precarious.

Until the three Titans of the Order of Omens descended upon the earth.

These terrifying war machines are equipped with powered claws on their right arms and some kind of mysterious weapon that exudes deathly darkness on their left arms.

When they fired, eerie dark explosions suddenly erupted from the armor of the Nether Titan, and its body was continuously devoured and disintegrated by some unknown substance.

The Eldar army was instantly thrown into panic, and the Nether Titans retreated in disarray.

Even more terrifying, the Ominous Titan then unleashed a devastating pulse, causing the entire Ark world to tremble violently as if struck by an earthquake.

Whether it was the Astartes or the Eldar warriors, they were as insignificant as ants before this power.

Saint Gilles keenly recognized the change in the situation and decisively ordered a full retreat, leaving the battlefield entirely to these psionic titans.

What followed was nothing short of a one-sided massacre.

In just three hours, the Eldar Titan army was completely destroyed.

Countless Netherworld mechs were pierced by the Omen Titan's pulse cannons, while the once invincible War Wizard Titan was ultimately decapitated and dismembered by the Psionic Titan.

The surviving Eldar warriors attempted to escape, but were slaughtered by the Silent Sisters and the Blood Angels; none survived.

Because of Saint Gilles's firsthand account, this battle became the most detailed record of the Order's battles.

However, after the Great Rebellion, and with the Emperor ascending the Golden Throne, the information about the Order of Omens was heavily altered by the Terra Council.

This mysterious force eventually joined the Royal Guard in guarding the depths of the palace, becoming Terra's last line of defense—only permitted to be deployed when the Empire was on the verge of collapse.

And now, a psionic titan has appeared on the battlefield, and it's a Warmaster-level one at that!
How can this not make these tech enthusiasts feel mentally overloaded?
This rare item, so rare that there isn't even a second one, should be sent to the headquarters of the Martian Mechanicus to be enshrined as a sacred object in a static field and receive the best maintenance services, instead of becoming a weapon of war on the battlefield!
Not to mention, it didn't even have a single guard by its side.

However, Chen Xi only stated that the Psionic Titan would be surrounded by a powerful psionic energy reaction, making it impossible for ordinary mortals or even Astartes to fight around it. Therefore, apart from another Psionic Titan, there would be no other friendly forces around it.

The mechanical sages, including Kaul, reluctantly accepted this explanation, but they still expressed strong dissatisfaction and protest against Chen Xi's decision to deploy this precious divine machine on the battlefield.

But Chen Xi had no time to pay attention to Kaul and the others, because he had now focused his consciousness on the Warmaster-class Titan!
