Chapter 302 The Security Guard Who Loves Fishing
Chapter 302 The Security Guard Who Loves Fishing
Back in the 3K era, Chen Xi glanced at the others sleeping soundly around him, knowing they were still in the 40K, so he didn't disturb them. He simply took a green medicine box from his military crate, put it in a plastic bag, and went out.
Chen Xi carried the trash bag to the corner of the stairs and glanced at the trash can there as usual.
This trash can is always much cleaner than the ones in other places.
He lifted the lid of the bucket, and sure enough, it was empty, without a single stain.
"The cleaning service is really thorough," he muttered to himself, tossing the plastic bag in.
Just as he turned to leave, he heard footsteps behind him. Liu Yi came downstairs carrying a black garbage bag, and the two met at the corner.
"Taking out the trash?" Chen Xi greeted him with a smile.
Liu Yi nodded: "Yes, the house was just cleaned up."
He walked to another trash can and naturally lifted the lid.
“Oh, right,” Chen Xi suddenly remembered something, “I heard you say last time that you know a very good doctor? A friend of mine hasn’t been sleeping well lately, and I was thinking of asking him about how to maintain good health…”
"Oh, Dr. Zhang, right?" Liu Yi threw the trash bag into the bin. "He is indeed quite good at treating this kind of problem. I can give you his contact information if you need it."
"That's great!" Chen Xi took out his phone, wrote down the number, and then casually asked, "By the way, do you know where I can buy marine life around here? I'd like to get a small aquarium for home."
Upon hearing this, Liu Yi raised an eyebrow: "What a coincidence, I have a retired comrade-in-arms who is now in the business of selling marine ornamental fish. Do you want me to inquire about it for you?"
"Really? Thank you so much!" Chen Xi's eyes lit up. "Could you give me your contact information first?"
"Okay, I'll send it to you on WeChat later." Liu Yi took out his phone and tapped it a few times: "I'll greet him first and say he's my friend."
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Chen Xi took her leave and went upstairs.
Once his footsteps disappeared into the hallway, Liu Yi turned and walked toward the clean trash can where Chen Xi had just thrown away the trash.
He casually lifted the lid of the bucket, his gaze lingered on the plastic bag inside for a second, and then nonchalantly closed the lid.
He looked around to make sure there was no one else in the hallway before slowly leaving.
Ten minutes later, a cleaner in a blue uniform appeared at the corner pushing a cleaning cart.
Wearing a mask, he deftly loaded the unusually clean trash can onto the car and replaced it with an ordinary trash can that showed some signs of use.
The whole process was smooth and efficient, just like a routine cleaning job that is performed every day.
The sanitation worker pushed the cart smoothly out of the building entrance, through the community's green belt, and finally stopped in front of the garbage station.
A brand-new garbage truck was already waiting there, with the logo of an environmental protection company printed on its body.
The sanitation worker loaded the special trash can onto the truck, and the truck started moving and slowly drove away from the community.

Chen Xi pushed open the door and returned home, heading straight to the kitchen and taking a can of chilled cola from the refrigerator.
Water droplets condensed on the surface of the aluminum can slid down his fingers. He pulled the tab with one hand, and with a "hiss," carbonated bubbles rushed up happily.
He tilted his head back and took a big gulp; the cool liquid slid down his throat, making him squint his eyes comfortably.
Holding a can of cola, he strolled to the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room.
The sun was shining brightly outside the window, and several security guards in navy blue uniforms were patrolling.
The security in this community is indeed reassuring. Eight security guards form a small team, patrolling the community in a single file with neat steps. Each person is equipped with standard security equipment: walkie-talkies, rubber batons, high-powered flashlights, and some even carry riot shields.
Their well-trained eyes vigilantly scanned every corner, and this professionalism made Chen Xi feel that the property management fee was well worth the money every time she saw it.
However, his gaze was quickly drawn to the young security guard at the back of the line.
The man had a conspicuous long, black cloth bag on his shoulder, about a meter long, and it looked heavy.
The bag is made of waterproof canvas with metal buckles protruding from the top, making it exactly the kind of fishing tackle bag commonly used by fishing enthusiasts.
"Patrols carrying fishing gear?" Chen Xi raised an eyebrow, unable to understand why security patrols would be equipped with such items.
The riot control equipment is already complete enough, are you going to use a fishing rod as a weapon?
He remembered the fisherman he had seen by the river the last time; he also carried a similar bag and sat there all day.
However, Chen Xi himself had no interest in fishing. Every time he went fishing, fish would bite the bait as soon as he cast the line. There was no skill involved, and he couldn't experience the joy of waiting at all.
"Could it be that he's going fishing right after his shift ends?" he muttered to himself.
But then I thought about it again. Security guards work in shifts, so it's not like they'd be carrying fishing gear with them every time they patrolled, ready to go home.
Chen Xi's gaze followed the black bag, watching it sway slightly as the security guards moved around.
Sunlight shone on the bag, subtly reflecting an unusual luster.
He suddenly thought of a possibility, but then shook his head, thinking that he might have been watching too many suspense dramas lately.
"Who cares!" He tilted his head back and finished the last sip of cola, the aluminum can making a slight creaking sound in his hand.
Chen Xi turned away from the window without even raising her hand. With a slight lift of her eyebrow, the empty Coke can traced a perfect arc and landed precisely in the trash can in the corner of the kitchen with a "clatter".
Since he redeemed the psionic talent in the system, this kind of telekinetic trick has become incredibly easy for him.
He looked down at his hands, a slight smile playing on his lips—if he went to a comic convention now, he wouldn't even need to cosplay as a psionicist; he could easily dress up as a nobleman.
Just as he was indulging in self-deprecation, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him.
Chen Xi turned around and saw Hai Tu walking out of the passage room, her expression rather inscrutable.
"What's wrong? You look so pale?" Chen Xi put away her joking mood and asked with a frown.
Sea Hare took a deep breath, her voice a little strained: "It's nothing, just that judge you sent..."
He paused, his gaze drifting elsewhere: "A group of wounded soldiers were executed."
Hearing this, Chen Xi nodded knowingly. For Hai Tu, who hadn't yet adapted to the 40k era, this was indeed a bit too shocking, especially since Chen Xi had assigned him the task of treating the wounded.
However, he also knew that the judge he sent would not kill without reason, so he asked the sea hare, "What crime were you executed for? Heretic? Or traitor?"
“He is… a deserter.” Sea Hare sighed, her voice filled with helplessness.
Chen Xi raised an eyebrow. Deserters are not uncommon in 40k, but it is somewhat rare for deserters to be executed by an inquisitor.
So he asked the sea hare, "What exactly happened?"
