Chapter 31 Creation Myth
Black Wolf Castle, library.

After pushing open the heavy oak door, what appeared before Xia Mingyu were rows of towering bookshelves extending to the ceiling, as if to submerge the entire space.

The air is filled with the faint scent of books and wood. The sunlight shines through the colored glass windows onto the floor, creating mottled light and shadows that make people want to sleep.

"I just woke up and feel sleepy again. In a sense, the library is a blessing for insomniacs."

Xia Mingyu's mouth twitched.

He did not forget the purpose of his coming here. He had to quickly acquire the "common sense" of the nobles of this world so that he could have a clear understanding of his current situation, identity and what he should do.

"There are far more books than I imagined."

Xia Mingyu walked between the stacked bookshelves, looking at the dizzying piles of books, and couldn't help but sigh.

It is conceivable that over the past hundred years, generations of Hughes family heads have probably been collecting books with all their might, which is why they have been able to collect so many books in this world with a medieval background.

"But with so many books, how can I find the one I need?"

Xia Mingyu held his chin and fell into deep thought.

The bookshelves in this library don't seem to be classified, so if you look for books one by one, you might not be able to find them even after dark.

It would be nice to have a librarian.
While thinking of a solution, Xia Mingyu walked back and forth between the bookshelves unconsciously.

"Wait, that's"

He stopped and looked at a gap between the bookshelves.

Through the gap, he saw an exquisite hammock, and there seemed to be someone lying on the hammock.

"Did Viscount Hughes really arrange an administrator here?"

With this thought in mind, Xia Mingyu walked around the bookshelf and headed towards the hammock.

Only when he got closer could he see the person in the hammock clearly.

She was a girl who looked no more than thirteen or fourteen years old. Her long silver hair cascaded like a waterfall over the edge of the vine-woven hammock, and her hair shone with a faint halo under the sunlight from the window.

Her face was not much bigger than an adult's palm, her lips were as delicate as newly opened cherry blossoms, pale blue veins were faintly visible under her porcelain white skin, and her long silver eyelashes trembled slightly.

She curled up in the hammock, her light pink satin nightgown slipping down to her knees, revealing her calves as white as fresh snow and her well-proportioned, delicate bare feet.

"What a lovely girl!"

Xia Mingyu couldn't help but exclaim in his heart.

Although Anlia is also very beautiful, her beauty is the kind of gentle and soft intellectual beauty that makes people fall in love with her invisibly, but does not give rise to overly profane desires.

But the girl in front of him was different. Her silver hair and petite and perfect figure made her look like a super special attack from a certain group on the blue planet. She had a devilish charm that captivated people.

Xia Mingyu had no doubt that if this girl was born on the Blue Planet, if she just posted a live picture on Douyin, countless secondary game manufacturers would come to her crying and begging for endorsements.

"But it seems she is not a librarian."

Xia Mingyu glanced at the white text above the other person's head and sighed softly.

"noble".

If nothing unexpected happens, this girl should be a family member of Viscount Hughes, probably a daughter or sister.

"Go look through the bookshelf again."

Just when Xia Mingyu was about to leave, the eyelashes of the girl sleeping soundly in the hammock trembled slightly. She purred like a kitten, then slowly straightened up and stretched.

She slowly opened her eyes, revealing a pair of slightly blurred, heterochromatic pupils. The left eye was as red as blood, the right as pale as ash. The two contrasting colors formed a breathtaking beauty on her delicate, palm-sized face.

The girl gently propped herself up, and the straps of her nightgown slipped slightly from her shoulders, revealing a hint of snow-white.

As if she had just woken up and her mind was still not clear, she stared blankly at Xia Mingyu in front of her, as cute as a cat.

"Beautiful eyes." x2
Xia Mingyu and the girl said in unison.

"Eh?"

The two of them were stunned, with a hint of surprise flashing across their faces.

"You you!"

The girl was about to ask, but suddenly noticed the words above Xia Mingyu's head - "Heir to the kingdom of 1.4 billion people."

Her pupils suddenly shrank, and the word "you" that came out of her mouth was instantly replaced by a respectful title.

Then she jumped down from the hammock with a nimble flip, and stood in front of Xia Mingyu with a respectful bow.

"Greetings, Your Highness."

The girl whispered, her voice was a little soft, giving people the feeling of wanting to hug her.

"Who are you?" Xia Mingyu first asked about the girl's identity.

"I am Elise Hughes, daughter of Viscount Hughes," Elise replied.

"Excuse me, why are you such a noble person appearing here?" Iris looked around and asked cautiously after confirming that this was her own library.

"It's okay if you don't want to answer. As someone as distinguished as you, I should be the one to answer your questions," Iris added.

In between words, she secretly looked at the identity protection above Xia Mingyu's head several times, and then put her right hand behind her back and pinched her waist to feel the pain, only then did she confirm that she was not in a dream.

However, if this wasn't a dream, why would this young man with beautiful eyes like obsidian have such an incredibly noble status?
1.4 billion. The combined population of the three human kingdoms of Sosia, Milan, and Rhine is definitely not as terrifying as this number.

Moreover, it was too strange for such a big shot to appear in his own library.

"I'm Mingyu Xia. At the invitation of your father, Viscount Hughes, I'm staying in Black Wolf Castle for a while." Xia Mingyu said calmly.

"I see. It's a great honor for the Hughes family. I hope you have a pleasant time."

Iris subconsciously wanted to lift her skirt to salute, but after she stretched out her hand, she realized that she was wearing a nightgown, and her snow-white face suddenly turned slightly red.

Her hands were awkwardly suspended in the air, not knowing whether to raise them or not.

If she saluted, she would expose too much skin, but if she didn't salute, and this noble prince thought it was disrespectful to him, she would be "socially destroyed" in the aristocratic circle.

"No need to bow, can you do me a favor?" Xia Mingyu seemed to see her embarrassment and said lightly.

"My pleasure, Your Highness," Iris quickly agreed.

"I want to find books about mythology. Do you know which bookshelf in this library they are on?" Xia Mingyu asked.

"Mythology books are usually on the third row of the seventh shelf." Iris thought for a moment and replied.

"Thank you."

Xia Mingyu's eyes lit up and he quickly walked towards the seventh row of bookshelves.

In this world where gods really exist and look down upon all living things, what could be more attractive than mythology?
