I was forced to cultivate immortality when I just wanted to lie down

Chapter 439 The Mirror of the Heart, the Way of the Kui Ba

Chapter 439 The Mirror of the Heart, the Way of the Kui Ba

A volume of scriptures for saving people can tell you about their past lives.

The revolving lantern of the corpse Buddha is, in a sense, not the life of a Buddha or a person, but the negative embodiment of the thousands of monks and practitioners in the Western Paradise, representing the delusions that have been ruthlessly severed.

He was like trash carelessly discarded by the monks, drifting outside the four directions of heaven and earth.

Besides seeing the stripped-away evil roots, Xu Qing also saw countless greedy, angry, and deluded thoughts that, after losing their physical bodies, were searching everywhere for new bodies to inhabit.

Meanwhile, the monks who arbitrarily cut off and banished these evil corpses remained outside, enjoying the peace that the Buddhist land brought them.

Because of the influence of these evil corpses, who have been banished to the world, the evil spirits of killing, stealing, lust, and lying have proliferated in this turbid world.

In the face of this defiled world, those who still possess compassion set aside their social status and incarnate as living Buddhas to guide and enlighten people, doing their utmost to cleanse themselves of past karma.

But when the calamity came, the Pure Land gates were tightly closed, and all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas withdrew from the world, which only made the evil corpses more rampant and wreaked havoc on the world.

If a person wishes to become an immortal, he must sever the three corpses: the upper corpse Peng Ju, who loves finery; the middle corpse Peng Zhi, who loves delicious food; and the lower corpse Peng Qiao, who loves lust.
If one wishes to become a Buddha, one must also sever the three poisonous corpses: greed, hatred, and ignorance.

Greed for corpses, greed for wealth and lust, love for fame and fortune, love for status—when greed reaches its extreme, it's like a thirsty person frantically drinking salt water; the more they drink, the thirstier they become, and they can't stop.

Anger and resentment towards the corpse make people cynical, resentful, and prone to feelings of hatred, resentment, anger, jealousy, and other emotions.

Such people, driven to madness by anger, harm themselves and others, causing them to completely lose their reason and compassion.

The Foolish Corpse is the most harmful and fundamental of the Three Corpses and Three Poisons!
This corpse is also called the corpse of ignorance, which means no self, no impermanence, no law. When ignorance reaches its extreme, it is foolishness, lack of knowledge, inability to distinguish right from wrong, and delusional views.

When Xu Qing led his disciples of the Daluo Sect on a journey to spread the teachings in his early years, he once performed a ritual to help a three-year-old child pass on to the afterlife.

The child's mother was a woman suffering from dementia. At that time, the woman saw other parents pushing their children on swings for fun. The woman loved her child, so when she returned home, she also found a rope and hung her own child on a crooked tree, just like them.

However, while other children sat on a bench, the woman tied a rope around her child's neck.

The child, unaware of the danger, could only kick his legs after being hanged, unable to utter a single cry.

In contrast, the woman was happily pushing her own child in a stroller, committing the sin of killing with her own hands.

Can you say that her original intention was bad?
The Buddha then said that this was the most serious of the three poisons: foolishness.

And this is only the rarest form of selflessness in ignorance.

In addition, there are many more able-bodied people who are unable to function or whose lives are subject to change.

Although they are not physically or mentally impaired, they are foolish and ignorant of the law, good and evil, or they may have always confused right and wrong and have no self-awareness. Such people are far from the right path!
Xu Qing performed the ritual of deliverance for countless evil corpses, but by a twist of fate, he single-handedly accomplished the great task of "deliverance" that should have been carried out by the Buddhist sect for thousands of years.

He also relied on this karma to cross to the other shore, and in the realm of Sumeru, he obtained a top-grade 'Bodhi Seed of Other Karma'.

The seeds, with Xu Qingling's spiritual platform as soil, sprouted and branched out as soon as they entered the divine realm. In a short while, a towering 'Heart Mirror Bodhi Tree' rose from the ground.

The mirror mind is a pure and clear mind, knowing one's own intentions and understanding the minds of others. It can reflect the cause and effect of others' karma and can also see the dust in one's own mind, thus aiding in spiritual practice.

In addition, under the Bodhi tree, one can also reveal the flaws in others' supernatural abilities or past shortcomings. This is a Buddhist supernatural power that can be used to either incite demonic attacks or to help people see their true selves.

In addition to his supernatural abilities, Xu Qingfei's zombie cultivation fruit has also undergone a transformation.

When the corpse undergoes three transformations, Xu Qing uses the Yin-burning fire seed as the foundation of the fire zombie, the Wuding black water as the root of the black zombie, and the wood-attribute wind as the fate of the hairy zombie, thus laying the foundation for the three transformations without change.

Now that Xu Qing has transcended the Undying Bone realm and entered the Flying Zombie realm, he needs more items to anchor the foundation of the three types of Kui Ba.

Such treasures that lead to the attainment of the Great Dao are rare in the world.

Even if they exist, they are mostly things that were born before heaven and earth and already have an owner, or things that have already been used by the divine and become their unique means of enlightenment.

If Xu Qing wants to follow the path of Kui Ba's Three Transformations, he must find three kinds of innate qualities.

The Three Lights Divine Water that had been collected previously could be used to cultivate the Water Demon's potential, but now the appearance of the Heart Mirror Bodhi has unintentionally laid the foundation for Xu Qing's future attainment of the Mao Hou.

Xu Qing is now only one step away from achieving the Dao Fruit of the Drought Demon, which is to find the Drought Demon's root.

Unfortunately, such treasures are extremely rare and hard to come by, and even if Xu Qing wanted to actively seek them out, he wouldn't know where to begin.

After obtaining the Bodhi root, Xu Qing picked up the Corpse Buddha's Corpse Disintegration Sword with a strange expression.

At this moment, the Corpse-Dissolving Sword had undergone a complete transformation, becoming a sword of wisdom wrapped in Bodhi branches.

The Corpse Buddha has three poisonous bodies, and the Wisdom Bodhi Sword, ranked in the Heavenly category, is precisely the nemesis of these three poisons.

The sword of wisdom can sever the root of all worldly troubles.

If the swordsman is compassionate, he can resolve external entanglements.

If the swordsman possesses 'right understanding', he can use the power of the Bodhi Mirror of the Mind to illuminate all illusory realms and always clearly see his true self.

Now, Xu Qing, with his body planted with Bodhi, has achieved the status of 'Bodhisattva in a corpse' despite his stiff, hairy body.

With wisdom, compassion, and right understanding, Xu Qing not only escaped the torment of the three poisons, but also attained three kinds of transcendence.

In other words, if he attains the fruit of the Kuiba path in the future, then when he transforms into a Mao Hou, the Dharma form he manifests will be that of a Bodhisattva.

He's a zombie, yet he pre-booked a Bodhisattva's position?

Does this sound like a word?

Xu Qing had nothing to say. The Three Lights Divine Water was a supreme treasure of Taoism, and the Sumeru Heart Bodhi was a supreme treasure of Buddhism.

Now that he is cultivating both disciplines simultaneously, it would be fine if he failed to succeed.

If he really succeeds in cultivating it, wouldn't he become a true double zombie?
No, if one can attain the status of a pure drought demon, combined with his own zombie attributes, then he would be a triple-level Dao Buddha corpse.

With the left hand forming a mudra, he represents the Amitabha Buddha; with the right hand, he holds the Amitabha Buddha in a vertical palm position.
Xu Qing frowned, feeling that his cultivation of the Dao seemed to be not quite right.

This is definitely a case of incorrect editing, isn't it?

Xu Qing shook his head. Now that his roots were planted, there was no turning back. No matter how abnormal or illogical the road ahead might be, he had no choice but to keep walking forward.

In addition, another thing that made Xu Laojiang extremely happy was the emergence of the Mind Mirror Bodhi, which indirectly opened up his last consciousness. At this point, Xu Qingjiu's general consciousness had opened up the eighth consciousness.

The last part represents the last part of knowledge; opening it can bring good fortune and avoid misfortune, and can also help one adapt to disasters and calamities.

Of the nine senses—sight, hearing, mouth, nose, tongue, body, mind, extremities, and internal organs—Xu Qing has only the 'wonderful speech sense' yet to be unlocked.

The essence of cultivating profound knowledge through speech lies in 'opening and closing'.

It means being able to speak eloquently and eloquently when speaking, and to be able to keep quiet and conserve one's breath when closed. Only when one possesses both of these qualities can this understanding be truly developed.

Xu Qing manages the three religions and is in charge of funeral affairs in Tianjin. He usually relies on his words to perform all funeral rites, prayers, and warding off disasters.

Coincidentally, he was also a talkative person by nature, and his favorite pastime was to live in the mundane world, immersing himself in the bustling streets and alleys of Tianjin. In addition, he had mastered the divine power of "speaking fluently," so he could talk non-stop all day long. His ability to pronounce the character "open" in "open and close" was more than enough.

Now, Xu Qing is only one word away from achieving the perfect understanding through eloquent speech: "together."

In response to this problem, he does possess a silent meditation technique called the Silence Spell.

However, to practice this method, one must first sever the four karmas of lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and frivolous speech, and one must also accumulate a breath of pent-up energy in one's heart.

As long as you swallow your anger and don't retaliate, and you always have resentment and frustration in your heart, the resentment accumulated in a year is enough to make an ordinary person's hard work in ten years!

If one can remain silent when witnessing various injustices in the world, then one can achieve silent meditation and attain profound verbal wisdom!
At that time, the evil aura of a century will be released in one day, its power enough to shake mountains and its momentum enough to reach the heavens!

But for Xu Qing, this was even more painful than stealing his corpse.

How could a funeral director who makes a living by talking, who often shoulders the great responsibility of spreading the teachings of the three religions, possibly go against his conscience and practice that cowardly "breath-holding technique" that is comparable to that of a turtle?
"The way of Heaven and Earth is such that those who follow it prosper, and those who defy it perish. If one forcibly cultivates techniques that go against one's nature, even if one gains supernatural powers, one will lose one's true self."

Xu Qing had just finished comforting herself when a problem she couldn't solve immediately came to mind.

They say those who defy fate perish, but as a zombie, wasn't he already dead beyond any hope of survival?
"The Great Dao is fifty, but one is omitted. What in this world is perfect? I, Jiutong, have cultivated eight of them, and the remaining one is also in harmony with the Great Dao!"

Xu Qing used his "White Mouth Heavenly Law" to hypnotize himself, managing to turn black into white and imperfection into perfection!
Aside from the corpse Buddha, Xu Qing had another unexpected gain during this journey to subdue demons in the Yin River.

That was the White Bone Bodhisattva from Yunzhou, who ranked last among the twelve gates of the Yin River.

The White Bone Bodhisattva was originally a corpse that the Great Compassionate Medicine King Bodhisattva of the Buddhist realm severed when he attained enlightenment.

Before he became a Bodhisattva, the Medicine King cut off his own flesh to make medicine in order to save people. When his body turned into bones, he shed his skeletal form and reshaped his body with the great vow to save all beings. In one day, he attained the status of a Bodhisattva.

The white bones that were abandoned by the Medicine King are now the White Bone Bodhisattva, possessed by a Yin Corpse.

This corpse is completely different from the Medicine King Bodhisattva who saves all beings from physical and mental suffering.

The White Bone Bodhisattva is accustomed to cutting human flesh and blood to make bones, which he finds pleasure in.

If the monk Xinyuan is one who lets wine and meat pass through his intestines but keeps Buddha in his heart, then the White Bone Bodhisattva is a three-poison corpse who abandons Buddha and ancestors, stuffing the flesh of sentient beings into his own hollow bones in an attempt to make up for the lack of a physical body.

The White Bone Bodhisattva, who was previously human-like and compassionate, is now revealed in Xu Qing's hands to be a painted-skin Bodhisattva, made by patching up the clothes of the people!
Peel away the grime-covered skin that resembled scabies, and all that remains is a gloomy, deathly white skeleton.

Xu Qing glanced at the reward, which turned out to be two Buddhist supernatural abilities.

One is the unique Buddhist Dharma of celestial phenomena and earthly supernatural powers, the form of Mount Sumeru Vajra.

This supernatural power is also known as the Divine Arm Net. Those who practice this method will have their limbs divinely aided, not only able to stretch and extend freely, but also able to extend infinitely as long as their magical power is sufficient.

Even if a person is in the clouds, they can extend their arms and legs to strike the ground, which can be considered a 'ranged melee' supernatural power.

Xu Qing clicked his tongue in amazement. Others might not be interested in this method, but he had high hopes for it.

With arms that can stretch infinitely, doesn't that mean he can grab a corpse from a great distance and bring it to his face, or perform a ritual for the deceased on the spot?
If he were to also have three heads and six arms, it would definitely be a divine skill that enhances his funeral techniques!

Manager Xu, who was always thinking about improving his professional skills, completely forgot that the Sumeru Vajra Form was a divine power of attack that manifested the laws of heaven and earth.

However, even if Xu Qing thought about it, he wouldn't care.

What he has no shortage of is supernatural offensive power.

Next, Xu Qing looked at the last reward, the Hengsha Transformation Method.

Buddhist scriptures use the metaphor of countless grains of sand in the Ganges River, and the supernatural powers of these countless grains of sand are derived from this.

Once one cultivates the power of the Thousand Sands to perfection, one's body will be like the sands of the Ganges, gathering and dispersing without form. It can not only transform into countless forms, but also generate limbs to assist in the Dharma.

The image of the Thousand-Armed Guanyin originates from this method.

Xu Qing raised an eyebrow; so it was an after-sales technique.

With its derived limbs, transformative forms, and the Vajra form of the Divine Arm Heavenly Net, this set of Buddhist Vajra's signature supernatural powers has all been gathered at once!
"This supernatural power can only be cultivated by those who possess Buddhist roots and wisdom, and it cannot be passed on to disciples of the Immortal Hall. However, Chen Liuer is capable of cultivating it."

Xu Qing was practically Chen Liuer's godfather, but unfortunately, this good godfather had a 'useless' master.

For some reason, the monk Xinyuan refused to teach Chen Liuer the supernatural powers to slay demons and defeat enemies.

Aside from Buddhist teachings that encourage people to do good and Zen principles that reveal one's true nature, Xinyuan never teaches any other Dharma.

Although Xu Qing is a man who doesn't mince words, he has always been the most doting on his juniors.

While personally teaching Shiyue, he also secretly taught Chen Liuer self-defense techniques.

Xu Qing taught Chen Liuer all the martial arts techniques and supernatural abilities that he couldn't use, such as the Embracing the Gang Boy Skill, the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill, the Vajra Arhat Mantra, and the Immovable King Seal.

This was a secret between the two of them; no one knew about it except for Shiyue and Xuanyu, including the monk Xinyuan.

Xu Qing can't teach Buddhist principles; he can only teach physics.

At this point, he had made up his mind that he would pass on these two Buddhist supernatural powers to Chen Liuer when he returned.

On the Yinhe Ancient Road, Xu Qing used the Mountain and River Cauldron to refine the corpse of the Corpse Buddha, but did not choose to continue refining the body of the White Bone Bodhisattva.

Having two gatekeepers in one prefecture was already unexpected. If he were to refine everything in one place, not only would Zhang Pingsheng not be able to withstand it, but Ganzhou alone would not be able to bear it.

After pondering for a moment, Xu Qing decided to pour all the spiritual energy from refining the corpse Buddha into the Gan River.

After all the spiritual energy in the Mountain and River Cauldron had been used up, he communicated with the Great Luo Dharma Realm and ordered Zhuang Tongsheng, Fuluan Shangren, and others to quickly go to Yunzhou to dredge the river.

He carried the Mountain and River Cauldron, refining the body of the White Bone Bodhisattva while rushing towards Yunzhou.

By the time they reached Yunzhou, all the people living near the Jinsha River, Yunzhou's largest river, had been evacuated.

Master Fuluan and Xie Qiongke cheered on Zhuang Tongsheng, though the two masters harbored wicked intentions and offered only flattering words.

"Fellow Daoist Zhuang possesses profound magical power and boundless supernatural abilities. This grand formation will surely be better than the one we two presided over back then!"

"Indeed! To be honest, I am not even as old as Brother Zhuang. If I can preside over such a grand formation, Brother Zhuang must be able to handle it with ease!"

The two were eager to drag all their like-minded people onto the pirate ship. Amidst the repeated affirmations, Zhuang Tongsheng gradually lost himself. He signed a life-or-death contract in a daze and made a vow to heaven and earth.

Here, as soon as the invitation was completed, Master Fuluan and Xie Qiongke withdrew, seemingly feeling that a hundred miles was not safe enough. The two retreated another hundred miles before they felt at ease.

Zhuang Tongsheng looked at his fellow cultivator who had run two hundred miles outside the range of the great formation and was quite surprised.

According to everyone, this formation was nothing more than a small candle, not even a firecracker. So why did they all run so far away as if they had seen explosives?

Zhuang Tongsheng could never have imagined that, in Xie Qiongke and the others' eyes, the great formation in front of them was not the small candle, but the Daoist Zhuang inside the formation was the candle!
