Chapter 44 Obadiah's Malice

Obadiah is the largest shareholder of Stark Industries besides Tony, and is also Tony Stark's elder and close friend.

Seeing that Obadiah was going to talk to the new shareholders of Stark Industries, the director entrepreneurs surrounding Harry all left and made room for them.

As a top figure in the upper class, Obadiah has close ties with the top military and government officials, and is not someone they can afford to offend.

The irrelevant people left one by one. Obadiah smiled with satisfaction and moved a chair to sit closer to Harry.

He glanced at the dishes piled on the table, and a gentle smile appeared on his majestic face:

"The steaks in this restaurant are delicious, and I like them too, but I can only eat three at most. I can't eat more than that. I really envy young people's appetite."

Because of Tony, Harry has a good impression of his elder Obadiah.

But when he saw him today, he found that Obadiah didn't seem so friendly and seemed to have a vague malice towards him.

Why, is it because Tony gave him 5% of the shares?

Harry remained calm and smiled, "I've never eaten here before. I ate a little more today and I didn't expect to run into Mr. Obadiah."

"Yes, what a coincidence! I came here to dine too, and unexpectedly met Tony's friend. I just happened to have something I wanted to talk to you about."

"Oh, what's the matter?"

"Harry, are you planning to sell your shares?"

"Shares?" He didn't expect that Obadiah's target was the shares in his hands.

Obadiah said he met him by chance, but Harry didn't believe it at all. It was undoubtedly because Obadiah had investigated his whereabouts and came to this restaurant specifically to 'run into him'.

So why did Obadiah acquire the shares?
It will undoubtedly increase the voice on the board of directors of Stark Industries.

This is not like the image Tony described of a good old man who works diligently for Stark Industries.

Seeing Harry's strange expression, Obadiah quickly explained:
"Harry, I'm doing this for your own good. Ever since Tony shut down the weapons development division, Stark Industries' market value has been declining. Just today, it's dropped from $5 trillion to $3 trillion.

If nothing unexpected happens, this situation will continue, and the value of your shares will depreciate significantly. So why not sell them to me? I can buy them for $100 billion!"

Harry refused without hesitation: "I'm sorry, Mr. Obadiah, please allow me to decline. I will not sell my shares.

Not only are these shares a gift from Tony to me, but I also believe in Tony. He will definitely invent other technologies to turn the situation around, and maybe the shares I hold will be worth more than before."

If you didn't know the inside story, the price Obadiah offered was indeed very good.

But Harry knew Tony's backup plan. No matter whether it was the various technologies derived from the Iron Man suit or the most critical Ark Reactor, any technology could bring endless wealth.

Obadiah must be aware of these two technologies, so although he seems to have good intentions, he actually wants to cheat Harry out of his shares at a low price, and Harry naturally won't agree.

After being rejected, Obadiah's face froze, and Harry immediately sensed even more obvious malice, and even a hint of murderous intent.

Obadiah wanted to kill him!

But soon, Obadiah regained his kind face, but this kind face was too fake, like the moon floating in the water, which would break at the slightest touch.

He stood up, patted Harry on the shoulder, and said in a deep voice, "Yes, it's an honor for Tony to have a friend like you. If you want to sell your shares in the future, you can contact me. I'll be leaving first. I have a business meeting over there."

"Goodbye, Mr. Obadiah. I wish you a happy life." Gwen, who had just been invisible, watched Obadiah leave and suddenly said, "Harry, I... I feel that Mr. Obadiah is not as friendly as he seems."

Gwen's tone was erratic, and it was obvious that she wasn't sure of her guess, but she said it out of concern for Harry.

Harry was surprised. She didn't expect Gwen's intuition to be so sharp. She didn't have such keen perception as herself.

Harry showed his white and neat teeth and patted Gwen's head: "No, your intuition is right, Obadiah is not a good person!"

When her lover touched her head, a charming blush instantly covered Gwen's face. She lowered her head, picked up a piece of steak, and put it in her mouth. It tasted sweet.

………………

Driving a Lamborghini and parking in front of 81 West 15st Street in New York.

Harry opened the car door and helped Gwen get out. It seemed that the date made Gwen in a good mood. She jumped and said goodbye to Harry.

Harry waved his hand, smiled politely at the villa window, and drove away.

When Gwen pushed the door open, she was immediately surrounded by her parents.

The dignified Chief George's face was as black as ink, and he said angrily, "Gwen, who is that kid?"

He didn't expect that the cabbages in his garden were almost eaten by pigs at some point.

Well, even though that pig looks pretty, it’s definitely not allowed!
Mrs. Stacy pushed her husband away, covered her mouth and chuckled: "Don't worry about him, Gwen. That boy just now is the Harry you often talk about, right? I think he is very good. You should find a chance to invite him to our house for dinner."

"Ah, Mom and Dad, I'll tell you later!"

Gwen was too shy and ran to her room in a panic, slammed the door, covered her cheeks and rolled around on the bed.

After saying goodbye to Gwen and Gwen's parents who were peeking from behind the window, Harry got back into the car, the engine roared, and he drove his car at full speed towards Queens.

Soon he stopped at the spot where the radioactive material had been reported to have leaked.

The leaked radioactive materials around have been cleaned up and no trace can be seen.

But Harry could still sense some residual radiation, most of which came from under the rusty manhole cover. It seemed that the radioactive materials that flowed into the sewer were not cleaned up.

There is nothing special about this area, and I think it is not these things that make him feel a sense of crisis.

Could it be that small animals like spiders and lizards have been mutated by radiation? That doesn't look like it either.

Harry felt like it was some kind of magical curse that would cause harm to him or his family in the future.

Unable to find any clues, Harry could only put the matter aside for the time being and deal with it when a crisis arises in the future.

The chaos magic told him that this crisis would not cause much harm to him.

On the way home, Harry called Tony while driving.

The phone was connected, and the crisp sound of a hammer hitting metal was heard from the other end: "Harry, what's going on? I'm very busy here. Uru alloy is very useful. Give me some more time, and I will be able to successfully research the magic battle suit!"
