Warhammer: Black Emperor
Chapter 853 I said, Our Lord will guide us.
Chapter 853 I said, Our Lord will guide us.
The bridge of the Star, the flagship of the Fifth Battle Group and a relic-class warship.
Lord San Diego Bergkamp stood before the entire viewing window, not sitting at the control panel as usual, because of the important passenger, Pastor Pat, and because no war was expected on this trip.
"Lower the porthole!"
As he gave the order, with a click of the motor, the ethereal baffle flipped and the blinds slowly descended.
Pat gripped his shepherd's staff and looked around, where a misty haze enveloped the surroundings.
A beam of orange light suddenly shot up from his two o'clock position, its brilliance dazzling.
A few seconds later, the light suddenly disappeared.
A few seconds later, a dazzling aurora suddenly burst forth from the ten o'clock position.
Pat's vision was enhanced three times in succession by the "audience," the "mind reader," and the "hypnotist."
His eyes narrowed, gleaming with a pale golden light.
"There is a supernatural mist within this dimension; it is a psionic mist," he said with certainty.
The demon-type psionicist, San Diego, confirmed his statement, "That's right."
"Although I cannot find the psionic dragon, I can help you pinpoint its location so you won't get lost or take the same route twice, thus saving you time."
“That’s enough,” Pat said earnestly.
"No matter what difficulties I face, I will fulfill my Lord's divine decree."
The fanatical priest immediately sprang into action, issuing orders for his men to quickly assemble on the flight deck and board the Thunderhawk gunships.
Each gunboat is piloted by a "machine," with an "astrologer" holding a crystal ball sitting in the co-pilot's seat.
San Diego's private gunboat took off first, and the instant it left the ape force field surrounding the ship, he raised his hand and pressed it on the activation rune of the suit's psionic array.
Behind the seats, the psionic circuits on the four mind servants lit up simultaneously.
The obsidian eyes of the demon-type psionicist were deep, and the crystal ball in his palm rose up and shone brightly.
At the center of the deep blue crystal ball, a black dot appeared, which then rapidly transformed into a black eagle.
suddenly!
A layer of misty psionic energy rapidly enveloped the Black Hawk, remarkably similar to that found in other dimensions.
Santiago focused on the divination abilities granted to him by the "astrologer," stroking the surface of the crystal ball with his palm, his mind racing through the information bestowed upon him by the Black Emperor within the data crystal.
Inside the crystal ball, a dazzling mist began to swirl.
In a daze, San Diego heard the flapping of wings in his ears.
He listened intently, trying to pinpoint the source of the sound.
After a dozen seconds, the sound disappeared, and the mist inside the crystal ball gradually subsided.
Santiago snapped out of his trance, his eyes regaining focus. He looked around and spoke to Pat.
"My divination abilities are limited, and I cannot determine the exact location of the psionic dragon's habitat based on the available information."
"I'm better at divination by astrology, and the psionic mist also interferes with divination..."
“I understand, Star Lord,” Pat’s voice was firm and resonant.
"It's just a little trouble; nothing can stop us from fulfilling our Lord's divine decree."
With a hydraulic release sound, he unlocked the mechanical arm that had been holding him in the seat and stood up.
Pat's eyes narrowed, turning almost pure gold.
He walked to the narrow window, his golden vertical pupils fixed on the mist.
"Our Lord will guide us at the eleven o'clock position."
San Diego was taken aback. Without a clear direction, he could only agree with Pat's statement and give orders to his private pilot.
"11 o'clock direction."
He then picked up the stylus and traced the flight path on the control panel.
The flight formation spread out, centered on the squadron leader's vehicle, and advanced to scout ahead through the fog.
The psionic mist drifted endlessly, sometimes suddenly bursting forth with magnificent light, only to fade and disappear in an instant.
“There’s something…” Pat suddenly said, quickly marking the target’s location on the tactical network.
The pilot pushed or pulled the control stick, and the black Thunderhawk suddenly turned, exploding into clouds of mist.
call!
The Thunder Eagle spun around and hovered at the location marked by the locator rune.
"The oracles array, including the ether reader, showed no abnormal feedback," the pilot said, puzzled.
The highly inspired "machine" was also unaware of its surroundings.
“There have indeed been changes…” said Saint Diego, a demon-type psionicist.
“Changes in space.” “You mean…” Pat stared into the mist.
"It's like Tannis here; the trees there move, and the space here moves."
“That’s right.” San Diego put the stylus back in, abandoning the futile attempt to record the information.
Click.
He freed himself from his restraints. "I left psionic imprints along the way."
San Diego walked to Pat's side, followed closely by four mind-machine servants carrying bedrock-type explosive guns.
A dazzling starlight erupted from the eyes of the demon-type psionicist, enveloping the surroundings.
Whoosh!
Amidst a flash of light, they appeared out of thin air within the psionic mist.
Within San Diego's eyes, cube-like spaces rolled and swirled, three of which were tinged with starlight.
That was the area he marked.
Two of them are arranged side by side horizontally, and the third is located below the one that connects to it.
The demon-type psionicist, carrying Pat, moved swiftly forward along the surrounding blocks.
"found it."
The light stopped, and the figures of San Diego and Pat gradually transformed from illusion into reality.
Pat looked around, his golden eyes locking onto a dozen or so creatures that were identical to the psionic images in the data crystals issued by the Black Emperor.
They are about half the size of an average person, with long tails several times the length of their bodies, almost the same height as an average person.
Their wingspan is also extremely wide, but not as exaggerated as their tails.
Its wings bear some resemblance to those of Lady Hera's bats, with a bluish-black outer skin and a red inner membrane covering its body.
As soon as San Diego and Pat appeared, all the psionic dragons immediately spotted them.
Their necks, which are about twice the length of their bodies, twist and turn, emitting piercing screams in unison.
Golden light surged from the spines of both San Diego and Pat, and they instantly ascended to the second level of Thelma's mental state.
San Diego watched the psionic dragon flapping its wings and flying rapidly away, and spoke.
"As my lord said, the psionic dragon's senses are exceptionally sharp."
"The furthest even exceeds the limit detection range of the Thunderhawk's ether reader."
“That’s why they avoided the Thunderhawks just now.” As Pat spoke, his eyes narrowed, and as his spirituality spread, invisible waves surged outwards.
The "Dragon's Might" swept across the area, striking more than a dozen psionic dragons as if they had been hit by a heavy hammer.
With a flap of its two wings, it accelerated its mad dash.
The three flew aimlessly, seemingly having lost their innate psychic abilities, and became lost in the misty fog.
The four of them were spinning in place.
Five bodies trembled, standing frozen in place.
San Diego felt the invisible pressure emanating from Pat and glanced at him out of the corner of his eye.
He quietly ascended to the third level of Thales' state of mind.
No wonder Pat and the priests became the embodiment of the Lord's majesty, an aura that was directly exerted on the spiritual level.
It must be a power bestowed by our Lord.
As San Diego pondered, Pat took a small, even-numbered black and gold vial from his waist.
boom!
The bottle cap was opened, releasing a tranquil and peaceful scent.
Pat spun his arm, scattering the essential oil blend made primarily of mandrake.
The hypnotist's eyes gleamed with golden light, and his voice was soothing.
“Psionic Dragon, come to me.”
"We will be the best partners."
Amidst the voice of "psychological suggestion," the five trembling psionic dragons regained their composure and, along with four of their kin who were circling in place, flew one after another toward the "hypnotist."
Two small psionic dragons, flying back and forth and lost in the mist, then flew over as well.
Pat gazed at San Diego, "I said, our Lord will guide us."
San Diego nodded, and together with Pat, raised their arms and brought them together upside down.
Praise be to my Lord.
Pat released his hands. "Now, continue to carry out my lord's command and obtain the psionic dragon."
