Chapter 763 Blood Stains the Eyes of the Alicias
955.M30.
Following the orders of the Primarch, the First Chapter of the Order of Shadows successfully intercepted the largest Orc asteroid fortress in the Sorent system.
On the bridge of the Alicia Guardian, Toby Bandak, over a hundred years old, has graying temples.
He led forty-one regiments, following Arbitration Lord Howard Finder, across the stars to the Colonus Expansion District, to annihilate the invading orcs.
This was not Toby’s first time in the Colonus Expansion. Nearly a century ago, during the “Randan Wars,” he led the First to Fifth Regiments out of the Starlight’s reach and captured the fortress that Lord Nimrod later named Broken Steel.
He stood ramrod straight, staring at the holographic image; fourteen regiments had already landed on the asteroid fortress.
The Alicias' ability to rapidly deploy on the battlefield is as excellent as that of the Shadow Order.
Toby examined the threat vectors across the battlefield and immediately identified the Thirteenth Theater as having the worst situation.
The airborne regiment had already suffered a casualty rate of 58.36% before landing.
Toby raised his mechanical right arm; his hand had been withered and decayed by the entropy energy of the Hruds, forcing him to replace it with a prosthetic.
Although he possessed a mechanical arm, his atrophied nerves could not be restored, resulting in a significant decrease in his reflexes and forcing him to withdraw from the front lines of combat.
Toby pressed his index finger firmly on the hologram, marking it.
He pressed the throat communicator and issued commands through the sonic array channel.
"Bombing Zone Thirteen, four rounds!"
"All standby regiments, conduct a full-scale airborne assault."
"Death struck from the sky!"
A unified response rang out on the communication channel: "Commander, we obey your orders."
The Alicia ships, black with yellow sun and verdant plant symbols painted on them, passed through the burning, rusty wreckage and approached the runic anchorage.
Toby stared intently at the holographic image, his expression solemn.
A hellishly dangerous plasma beam swept across, hindering the fleet's approach.
The skewed plasma jet, like a water gun being sprayed out, was scattered by a strong wind.
Toby picked up the data panel, tapped the yellow area categorized as important information, and found the piece of information he needed to check.
The Orcs' fourth asteroid fortress has invaded the northern sector of the Ramirez-class star fortress Castledeg, which is guarding the Sosho Star Gorge.
The weapon arrays deployed in the northern sector of the USS Castledeger are plasma-based.
Toby stared grimly at the distorted jets of light. They lacked the beautiful, orderly arcs of human plasma cannons, but they were still deadly.
The threat vector continues to rise, and countless strands of static red light emanate from it.
He said to his adjutant beside him, "I'm bringing in a leader!"
"Too..." The adjutant saw his superior raise his hand, and the words of dissuasion stuck in his throat.
He raised his hand in salute, "Your participation in the war will ignite the hearts of every Alicias like fireworks!"
"Death struck from the sky!"
The Valkyrie gunships roared to life and swarmed off the flight deck.
Inside the Taurus command vehicle, Toby Bardock wore a black military overcoat trimmed with luxurious gold, with gold thread embroidered on the cuffs, and his rugged, stubble beard was clean-shaven.
He crossed his arms and stared at the distorted arc of hellish light.
The rolling red runes stung his slightly cloudy eyes.
call!
A green glow shone into the driver's seat, where the young nobleman's adjutant spat:
"The filthy green skins, their evil glow, obscured the white-green plasma energy, the flashing electric light."
“Mosinho, the greens will always find ways to exploit our things in ways that are incomprehensible,” Toby said earnestly to his grand-nephew.
“You’ll get used to it.” He looked intently at the open hatch.
“Alicia is located at the crossroads of shipping lanes. One day, you will… face the Green Tide.” The car shook violently, causing Toby’s voice to tremble slightly.
boom!
The gravity parachute opened, and the trembling subsided somewhat.
Mosinho raised his hands and gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Sir, I will... earnestly... learn from you."
He stared straight ahead, a sinister beam of light passing from below his left eye to above his right eye.
Hundreds of Alicia paratroopers were burned to ashes, leaving only an ominous burst of light.
Mosinho gripped the steering wheel tightly, veins bulging on the back of his hands.
Toby raised the mechanical arm and slammed it hard on the back of his hand.
"Don't be nervous...we're not that unlucky today."
"My lord, I'm not... nervous."
boom!
Taurus landed on the uneven ground and bounced up.
Toby retracted his arm and shouted loudly through the sound channel, "Attack!"
"Death struck from the sky!"
Countless blue lights flashed as the Alicias raised their laser guns, aimed at the greens, and launched an attack.
The gunner turned the heavy flamethrower, and a jet of fire swept across the area.
The green-skinned creature roared and howled, struggling to move forward through the sea of fire.
The promethium molten metal burned fiercely, black smoke billowed, and the smell of burnt fungal soup filled Toby's respirator, seeping into the filter. Cough!
Toby released the throat communicator to avoid disturbing his men.
Crack!
With a loud bang, the flames abruptly stopped.
Toby turned around and saw that the gunner had been blown to bits.
“Four o’clock!” he shouted at Mosinho, leaping onto the roof of the car.
The scattered electric sparks made his body stiffen, and his mechanical arms gripped the handles tightly.
Bang!
As Taurus rotates, the left rear wheel, slightly forward, crashes into the protruding saw teeth.
Phew!
With a loud bang, the wheel failed.
Cold sweat soaked Mosinho's back as he stiffly reduced the force he was applying with his right hand, trying to regain his balance.
The commanders of the Alicia paratroopers chose the Taurus not only because it was lightweight, but also because it could be adjusted and continued to move even if one or more wheels were lost.
boom!
Taurus leaped up, and Mosinho breathed a sigh of relief.
His pupils suddenly dilated.
Dozens of orcs, each holding a wrench, gathered around the giant cannon, jumping and yelling strangely.
Hundreds of orc warriors, fully armed and bound with rusty iron plates, stood around, their gray gun barrels whirring.
The air pressure devices behind them hissed, and the gun barrels rattled.
Mosinho jerked the steering wheel.
Stab it!
Amidst the screeching sound, Toby steadily pulled the trigger.
The fire dragon swayed east and west, yet it always enveloped the green-skinned creature.
The stench of ammonia filled the air, and the howling gradually subsided.
Mosinio's eyes widened. Amidst the bursts of flame, the orcs were all annihilated, not a single stream of fire touching the crackling, evil machinery.
"Death struck from the sky!"
Alicia's paratroopers shouted, following their corps commander, and launched a massive attack on the greens.
Dense beams of light struck each green-skinned creature precisely.
Missless shots.
The Alicia paratroopers, who are at key points in the airdrop strategy, have to fight most of the time without supplies.
Shooting accuracy is a key focus in training, just as important as operating a parachute for airdrops.
Toby looked dashing, the military flag fluttering in the wind.
The earthy yellow waves washed away the green tide.
The Alicias have captured the plasma cannon positions.
"Jump out of the car!" Toby's angry shout suddenly rang in Mosinho's ears, and he instinctively rolled over and jumped out.
boom!
Black smoke billowed in as a shell slammed into the Taurus assault vehicle.
Mosinho rolled and spun continuously, experiencing excruciating pain as if his bones were falling apart.
He scrambled to his feet, staring wide-eyed at the beast that was at least three heads taller than any orc he had ever seen.
The beast was clad in rough, full-body armor, with even its head encased in rusty iron.
He charged forward with a sinister grin, carrying a cannon on his back, wisps of black smoke billowing from its muzzle.
Beside him, a large iron saw hummed.
Whoosh!
A beam of light, as bright as a star, shot towards the beast.
Mosinho's eyes lit up; he knew it was the Arbitration Lord's reward for Toby's contributions in the Battle of Steel Fortress.
The beast is doomed.
Zizizi!
As the smoke rose, the beast did not fall.
How can it be?
Mosinho's eyes widened as he was astonished to see layers of rusted iron stuffed inside the beast's tattered body, and molten cables flashing with blinding sparks.
He underwent rudimentary prosthetic modifications.
puff!
Blood stained his eyes.
It stained the eyes of every Alicia paratrooper red.
They lost their beloved commander.
