Chapter 650 The Faceless Man Who No One Suspected

Chapter 650 The Faceless Man Who No One Suspected

Deep within the lush oak forest, the Harvest Giant "Roeves," his body mangled and his scythe-like arm stained with thick, filthy blood, staggered toward the camp.

"Roeves" saw a bountiful giant, who had been leaning comfortably against an oak tree, sway up and get up. His tongueless mouth opened and closed, making a creaking sound mixed with a slight friction.

The Shadow of Order keenly discerned the subtle differences and, relying on the memories of the Harvest Giant it had acquired, understood that the other party was asking it about the progress of the battle.

The "faceless man's" "transformation" is only a change in appearance. Although he can instantly observe and accurately recall the appearance and temperament of the objects, and grasp their unique scent, he is still limited to appearance.

Ordinary people, or even Astartes from other legions, would mostly be unable to detect the subtle differences in the creaking sound.

But as the shadow of order, William Wood is able to grasp it.

His mind raced, searching through Roeves's memory for the name of the Harvest Giant with a triangular marking on its chest.

“Talebi,” “Roeves” said slowly, mimicking the subtle creaking sound of tree branches swaying, “we have defeated the enemy and pursued the Black-Armored Men to the Broken Mountains.”

"The black-armored men are still putting up a stubborn resistance. The guard sent me back to report."

A general in the Harvest Giants clan, and also a guardian of the Oak Temple.

They serve the tree god in peacetime and serve as generals in wartime, leading the harvest giant warriors.

“Great!” Taleby shook his body with delight. “Let’s go see Lord Regis.”

The Faceless Man followed Taleb and walked forward, while feeling a sense of fullness diminishing within him, as if he had just eaten his fill of stray dogs in the wilderness of Gardiner.

William, who had similar experience, knew that he possessed a portion of the power bestowed upon him by the Black Emperor.

William increasingly felt that this "transformation" of the tree-man to lure the enemy into a trap was the right decision.

He passed through a series of bountiful giants that resembled trees, and arrived at the center of the temple.

The temple of the Harvest Giants is open, without obstacles such as diamonds, and the brown soil in the center of the temple is simply covered with a layer of oak leaves.

"Roeves" saw a harvest giant buried in the soil, its lower body buried in the ground.

Unlike the other harvest giants, whose bodies were entirely red, his exposed upper body had a white spine.

As he slowly turned, it was as if he were swimming in the soil.

“Your Excellency, the Tree of Favor,” Roevs bowed, knowing that the person before him was Lord Regis, the Tree of Favor of the tribe.

[A very peculiar ability.]

In the records of the Flao people, only a very few dual-type psychics who combine bio-chemical and telekinetic abilities can do this.

The bio-psychic can alter its own structure in a short period of time, while simultaneously using telekinesis to change the material structure of the soil.
As William pondered, he began to recount, according to his preconceived story, the entire process of the harvest giants' bloody battle, victory, and pursuit into the canyon to the giants in the earth.

Regis's sunken eyes stared at "Roeves".

After listening to the whole story, Regis exhaled a thick, earthy smell.

"The man in black armor must be punished."

He dispatched twenty-five temple guards, leading nearly three thousand Harvest Giants, to accompany "Roeves" to the Broken Valley.

The three thousand harvest giants marched like a steel convoy, causing the ground to rumble and tremble.

Amidst the tremors of the great earthquake, the giant harvesters arrived at the entrance to the Broken Canyon.

They saw the mangled, cracked bodies of their kin, and black armor plates.

They quickened their pace and rushed into the canyon.

The "Faceless Man" shook his head almost imperceptibly. The giants of the harvest didn't suspect him at all, and his prepared explanation was useless.

Indeed, the Harvest Giants would never have imagined that someone could "transform" into the likeness of their people.

I also possess the memories, voice, and smell of "Roeves." In appearance, I am the true Harvest Giant.
With each step the "Faceless Man" took, he felt a slight dissolving sensation within his body.

The large group of harvest giants regarded him as one of their own, and there was a clear response.

As they continued, the canyon became increasingly narrow.

As William walked, he inadvertently turned back and, with his eyesight far exceeding that of the Harvest Giant, confirmed that the last person in the line had also crossed the entrance by a kilometer.

[It's time.]
The Faceless Man glided toward the three guards standing side by side behind him with a speed that the Harvest Giant could not possibly possess, and with both hands he pulled two Shadow Tarot cards from his cracked body.

The card representing the substitute chariot in the right hand is Gardiner's three-legged walking mech, which is golden in color.

The sword in the left hand is shaped like the Black Emperor Vaal's Sword and is blue and white.

The seasoned "magician's" inspiration burst forth, and two tarot cards were drawn as "soldiers."

The "faceless man" opened his mouth and puffed out his cheeks.

A loud bang reached the ears of the Shadows of Order.

Above the mountain walls on both sides, the "mechanical experts" heard the signal and activated the device.

Within the canyon, the runes of the twelve buried seismic devices lit up.

A pungent chemical odor permeated the land, and an alkaline solution, tens of thousands of times denser than that used in agricultural land reclamation, caused the earth to soften rapidly, as if it were being burned.

Caught off guard, the giants' root-like hands sank into the soil.

They wanted to take root and stabilize themselves, but the chemicals permeating the soil burned their feet, and the land was rapidly softening into a swamp.

The more the giants of harvest struggle, the deeper they sink.

The "air bullet" spat out by the "Faceless Man" slammed into the head of a Harvest Giant guard.

His sunken eyes were filled with disbelief as he looked at "Roeves".

His legs buckled, and he was struck hard on the head unexpectedly, collapsing to the ground.

The Faceless Man deftly slipped between the other two Harvest Giants guarding the area.

The two sticks, made of paper as weapons, slammed hard into the legs of the Harvest Giant's guard.

The immense power of the shadow of order shattered the stick.

The fragments collided, producing the sound of metal shavings hitting each other.

With two loud thuds, the two Harvest Giant Guardians crashed to the ground.

The "Faceless Man" raised his hand and flung out a dozen promethium matches. He continuously used "flame leaps" to walk on the heads of the harvest giants.

In the "drawing paper soldiers" tarot, each shadow talisman transforms into a drill, striking the heads of those bountiful giants who haven't fallen into the canyon.

The giant harvester swayed, lost its balance, and sank into the mud.

On the fifth day after the war, William offered the Harvest Giant, which had sunk into the Broken Canyon, to the Black Emperor.

Ninglu landed on the canyon floor, his consciousness spreading out, immediately matching the Harvest Giant Guardian in the earth with the auxiliary materials of the "Mother" pathway sequence 5 "Druid".

After learning about the Tree's Familiar and its appearance from William, Nimrod confirmed that it was the main ingredient of the "Druid" potion.

He thought to himself, "Whether or not there are fragments of Bilak here, this trip was at least worthwhile, as I've gathered all the ingredients for the 'Druid' potion."

Well, my leaving Vostonia prevented Old Man Huang from pinpointing my location, and also increased his strength.
After taking the Harvest Giants into the "Land of Chaos," Nimrod flew toward the Brown Mountains.
