Chapter 3: Recruiting the Gang

Chapter 3: Recruiting the Gang
A moment later, Nimrod found an abandoned sewage pipe in the garbage mountain outside Tezwok.

Nests develop from the bottom up. When humans set foot on a planet, they first establish settlements on the ground, and then develop upwards over a long period of time.

Due to population migration and other reasons, most of the facilities in the bottom nest have been abandoned.

He crawled into the pipe and walked forward on the mud formed by industrial wastewater.

Nimrod walked forward in the sewage pipe that was five people wide. After walking one kilometer, his ears moved, and the sound waves he captured outlined a scene of hundreds of people fighting in his mind.

He continued forward for several hundred meters, and his hearing outlined the scene of being chased from the front and behind.

A scream suddenly rang out, and the person fleeing in front fell to the ground. Then there was another scream, and the person chasing him also fell down.

Nimrod listened carefully, but he could not hear any other sound except these two people. Why did both of them fall down?

Moments later, he arrived at the scene and the two men were already dead in the sewage.

Even in the dim environment, he could clearly see the abnormality of the two people. Their shoes were torn and the soles of their feet were bloody, caused by hundreds of crisscrossing scars.

Nimrod glanced around and keenly spotted a crystal cluster in the corner of the turbid sewage.

[It's not a living thing, it's a thorn crystal.]
Nimrod knew that the thorn crystal appeared in the hive's sewage pools, sewage pipes and other places where pollutants had accumulated for generations. It was more of a mineral strain than a plant. It was similar to coral and consisted of dense clusters of fragile and sharp crystals.

A fool who stumbles into a thorn crystal quickly discovers its horror, its sharp crystals inflicting thousands of tiny but extremely painful wounds.

The greatest danger comes from the toxins and chemical corrosives on the crystals, which can enter the wound and turn the smallest abrasion into severe suppuration and ulceration, which will cause death if not treated.

Sadly, most of the people in the Lower and Bottom Nests have no access to medical supplies, and stepping on them means a swift end to a miserable life.

[I came across a supplementary material so soon.]
Nimrod bent down and searched in the sewage, and soon he found two complete crystal clusters.

He took out spare clothes from his backpack, wrapped a thorn crystal in his shirt and pants respectively, and put them in his backpack.

Ningluo was in a good mood and continued to move forward. Several passages converged and he saw a platform.

Two gangs were attacking the forge on the platform, firing laser guns made from scrap metal at each other.

The leader of a group of people with red cloth wrapped around their heads on the left side of the platform raised his hand and knocked down the enemy with a scrap laser pistol, then rolled over to avoid the attack, and suddenly his eyes lit up.

He saw a boy who did not belong to the Bottom Nest. His tattered clothes could not hide his handsome face. He was worth more than this forge.

He immediately rushed towards Nimrod and stretched out his hands to grab him.

"Boy, come here."

The gang leader missed the side of Ningluo's body. The boy grabbed his wrist at the moment when he lost his balance, pulled him forward, and then stabbed the silver-gray fragment into his abdomen.

He found five energy boxes from the corpse and stuffed them into his pockets.

In order to store the "treasures" they picked up, the mutants had dozens of pockets on their clothes that were sewn with scraps of cloth of different colors.

The Primarch picked up the laser pistol that was pieced together from different parts. Once he got the gun, he skillfully checked the energy box.

[Vostonia's gangs are better crafted than those on other planets. The laser pistols they made from scrap metal are above average, with a total of 23 shots, and 17 shots left.]
Nimrod shouted, "Stop!"

Although he was still a boy, there was nothing childish about his voice.

The two groups of people who were fighting only heard a scolding, like the cold scolding of an arbitrator who occasionally came to the bottom nest. They shuddered and turned their heads to look.

When they saw Nimrod, their eyes lit up.

On the right side of the platform, the gang leader poked his head out and made a "Pooh" sound.

"When will it be your turn, kid..."

Before he could finish his words, a bright beam of light pierced the vital point between his eyes, and his body fell to the ground.

The two groups were stunned. The distance between the boy and their leader was over thirty meters, far exceeding the maximum range of the scrap laser pistol. His ability to kill the leader with such precision was incredible. On the left side of the platform, several sharp-eyed individuals noticed that the gun the boy had used belonged to their leader, whose body lay at the entrance of the passage.

"The boss is dead!"

The shouting woke up the people from the two gangs, and immediately several of them had their eyes lit up. They were all gang leaders, and now that their boss was dead, their chance to take over had come.

They immediately turned their guns and attacked their competitors.

As for the boy, no matter how powerful he is, he is just a child. As long as he becomes the boss, the siege will always be able to catch him.

Nimrod was ready to roll over and dodge, but he unexpectedly found that they were even more stupid than he thought.

He immediately took action. Since these people had encountered him, they were his team to conquer Vostronia, and now was the time to establish his authority.

"I said... stop..."

As Ning Lu spoke, he raised his hand and fired three shots in succession, killing three people from the gang on the left side of the platform. The other two were killed by a sneak attack from their competitors.

He dealt with the winner of another gang and looked at everyone.

"From now on, I am your boss. Anyone who disobeys will suffer the same fate as them."

The gang members were all terrified, they didn't dare to move. They had never seen such accurate shooting, continuous shooting, one shot at a time, they had never heard of it before.

So, on the first day that Nimrod arrived in Vostronia, he formed his own gang, with three hundred and ten men under him.

When Ningluo poured all the fungi in his backpack into the big vat, all the gang members' eyes glowed green. If they were not afraid of his accurate shooting skills, they would have pounced on him like hungry wolves.

Nimrod stood on the platform and looked down at the people below. He knew that the people of Dichao were not well educated, so he spoke in the simplest and most straightforward language.

"I won't mistreat the people who hang out with me, but I won't keep useless people either."

"How much you get depends on your ability."

"Whether you want to drink the soup or the leftovers is up to you."

He glanced at the crowd and saw that most of them were craning their necks and staring at their feet with wide eyes. Only a few were still scratching their heads.

"Now I have questions to ask. Those who can answer them can have soup."

"First question, where are there any giant rats around here that are over a meter long?"

The better the quality of the potion ingredients, the better the effect after taking it.

Nimrod was not afraid that they would know the potion formula, he only needed to ask for two.

"Me," said the thin, bald man who reacted the fastest, "Boss, there are giant rats everywhere around here, and quite a few are over a meter long. I can't tell you the exact number, but there are a lot of them in every tunnel and pipe."

Nimrod looked down at the crowd. No one objected, and they all showed regretful and angry expressions.

"Very good, you can come up and take a spoonful first."

The bald man immediately ran as fast as he could. When he stepped onto the platform, he twisted his leg and almost fell.

He supported his body with his left hand and stood up immediately, as if he was afraid that the boss would go back on his word, and scooped a full spoonful with a spoon.

Smelling the fragrance, he couldn't wait to squat beside it and lick the soup on it.

The others looked at the bald man with envy for his quick reaction, craning their ears and waiting for the boss to ask questions.

"Second question, does anyone know where I can find some wire grass?"
