50s: Starting with a storage ring

Chapter 787 Day and night

Chapter 787 Day and night
The Black Hawk helicopter that Sun Zhiwei was piloting was purchased last year from Major Grand Page, the air force chief at the Barabak Air Base in Borneo.

It is actually an improved version of the Black Hawk helicopter, especially with many technical measures implemented to reduce noise.

For example, by installing a lead-vinyl chloride anechoic matrix in the engine compartment, 90% of mechanical noise can be suppressed.

Rotor noise was reduced by changing the blade shape, increasing the number of blades, and optimizing the motion control system.

By installing acoustic baffles at the air intake and exhaust ports to block airflow, airflow noise is effectively reduced.

After the above technical optimizations, the noise level of this Black Hawk helicopter can now be reduced to below 45 decibels when flying at low altitudes, which is close to the ambient sound level of a library.

This is why the Black Hawk is called the "Night Hawk".

In the darkness, he truly seemed like a ghost in the sky; people living in houses wouldn't even notice a helicopter passing by their windows unless they listened carefully.

It was already daytime, and the outdoor noise was even louder. When the black hawk flew low overhead, no one would really notice it passing by unless they saw it with their own eyes.

Colombo, known as the "Crossroads of the East," is Sri Lanka's largest city and commercial center, an important port on the Indian Ocean, and a world-renowned artificial harbor.

Colombo in the 80s wasn't exactly developed, but its economy was already quite prosperous, and the area was rich in gemstone mines. So, it was more like our hometown in the 90s, except there were fewer high-rise buildings.

There is an interesting blind spot to be aware of: the actual capital of Sri Lanka is not Colombo.

Colombo is merely an artificial port city; their true capital is called "Sri Jayawadnapura," or "Kot" for short, located on the outskirts of Colombo, with the two places adjacent to each other.

But whether it's our family, America's family, or the Russian family, they all record Colombo as the capital of Sri Lanka, and this hasn't changed in the 21st century.

But don't say anything carelessly when you get there, or you'll make a fool of yourself.

Sun Zhiwei's decision to fly directly over was actually a bit risky, as Sri Lanka, although not a developed country, does have an air force.

He mainly relied on the Black Hawk's stealth characteristics of low noise to fly low over the suburbs.

When he came across the military camp in the suburbs, he did not arrogantly walk over it, but instead swept past it.

In that short time, he had already used his spatial ability to steal five Type 69 medium tanks and a pile of shells from the military camp's warehouse.

After achieving his goal, he flew directly west into the sea, then flew at low altitude over the sea surface for hundreds of kilometers before regaining altitude.

Only after the Black Hawk safely entered the Arabian Sea did Sun Zhiwei conduct a self-criticism on board.

This was indeed a risky move. No matter how underdeveloped Sri Lanka is, it is still a sovereign country with a complete army, navy, and air force.

Leaving aside the army, the navy has a Hamilton-class patrol ship, which is no less capable than its two frigates. It displaces 3250 tons and is equipped with anti-aircraft missiles.

Their air force also has three domestically produced F-7 fighter jets (the J-7, with the export version named F).

If he is detected by radar midway, at the very least, enemy fighter jets will definitely take off to chase after him, and he will definitely waste a lot of time.

Fortunately, he made a quick in-and-out trip, flew at extremely low altitudes throughout, and was lucky enough not to be reported by anyone who saw him, so he was able to get out safely in the end.

But luck doesn't always last, and if you keep taking such risks, you're bound to make a mistake eventually. That's why he specifically did a self-examination, warning himself not to get too cocky, lest he stumble later. Reaching the Arabian Sea meant the journey was halfway over; the remaining 3000 kilometers would be entirely at sea.

Because of the long hours of overload operation, he paid close attention to the condition of the Black Hawk under his seat, frequently changing the oil in various parts of the Black Hawk remotely, and checking the fuel tank at any time to add fuel.

Time passed from dawn to daytime, and then from daytime to night. By 8 p.m., Sun Zhiwei could see the coastline ahead on the radar.

He rubbed his eyes and let out a heavy sigh.

He departed from ship number 2 at 4 a.m., covering a distance of 6000 kilometers and taking 16 hours, and is finally about to arrive at his destination.

Even today, Yemen is still divided into two parts, North and South. After South Yemen established friendly relations with us, we began to implement an aid policy for South Yemen.

This assistance includes both financial aid and medical aid.

Economic aid mainly helps the recipient to build various infrastructure projects, develop agricultural production, and develop basic industrial projects that are cost-effective and quick to produce results.

Medical assistance includes building medical facilities, training doctors and nurses, and providing direct support to medical personnel and medicines.

Therefore, many of our construction contractors, construction workers, agricultural and industrial experts, medical personnel, and accompanying translators and security guards are present in South Yemen.

After Sun Zhiwei piloted the Black Hawk into the Gulf of Aden, he began calling for two passenger ships responsible for the rescue: the COSCO "Weihe" and "Shijingshan".

The "Weihe" is a fully container ship with a deadweight tonnage of 25550 tons, and it is currently on its return voyage from the port of Kotka, Finland, carrying more than 10,000 tons of cargo.

The "Shijingshan" vessel was originally scheduled to call at the port of Aden to unload 4000 tons of cargo, but due to the war, it was temporarily diverted to Djibouti for refueling.

Both ships have abandoned their original itineraries and come here temporarily to carry out the evacuation mission, with the destination being the port of Aden.

Port Aden is the capital of South Yemen, located deep in the Gulf of Aden.

Soon, Sun Zhiwei contacted the "Weihe" and "Shijingshan" ships, and based on the descriptions from the two ships, he learned about the current basic situation in Yading.

Due to the war, the port of Aden has been closed, and the "Weihe" and "Shijingshan" ships were driven away by helicopters as soon as they approached.

Therefore, they can only wait at the Port of Djibouti, which is 300 kilometers away from the Port of Aden.

The family's original plan was to wait until all the staff from the three gathering places were gathered at the embassy, and then evacuate the Aden war zone by land from the embassy.

They arrived at Mukalla, another relatively safe port 500 kilometers away, and boarded a ship there to evacuate from South Yemen.

The plan was too time-consuming, covering hundreds of kilometers, and the chances of something going wrong were too high, but Sun Zhiwei did not reject the plan outright.

He simply informed the two ships that our two escort ships were rushing over day and night, and asked them to wait patiently. Then he turned around and flew towards Aden Port.

He soon arrived at the sea off the coast of Aden. From afar, he could see thick smoke rising everywhere in the city in the direction of the port, and there were occasional explosions.
