50s: Starting with a storage ring

Chapter 511 The Target is Released

Chapter 511 The Target is Released
Hatto now resides at his private residence at 8 Cendana Street in central Jakarta.

He works in his office at the Bina Graha building during the day, and on Fridays he goes to the Independence Palace to travel to the Baiturrahim Mosque and handle special meetings there.

Whenever he travels, he is accompanied by a guard of hundreds of men, and the streets are cleared along the way.

In the convoy, there would be at least three to five cars that looked the same, and he would randomly get into one of them.

He never gets out of the car on the street; he always drives the convoy into an indoor parking lot before getting out.

It would be very difficult for an ordinary person to spot him. Sun Zhiwei had to wait for him at the entrance of an important place before he discovered him.

During one of his trips tracking Hatto, he unexpectedly discovered a man, Army Colonel Latif, who had previously served as the commander of the 1st Brigade of the Jakarta Garrison.

He was much more senior than Hato; when he was a brigade commander, Hato was only a company commander.

He was later arrested by Hattori and imprisoned for more than ten years. Two years ago, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in a secret trial and is currently being held in a secret prison in the city.

This man wielded considerable influence within the military, and Hatov never dared to let him show his face. However, because many of his men were in the army, Hatov couldn't easily kill him and could only keep him imprisoned in secret.

Sun Zhiwei saw an opportunity in this.

His original plan was to undermine their foundation and create chaos within the group, but that would only result in internal strife, and the benefits wouldn't be shared with those outside the group.

If there is a target, a group of opposition members can be gathered. Right now, the opposition has no leader.

Counting the days, it's just a week until Ivajra, a traditional Javanese festival. Families usually gather together and go to the mosque.

Feeling that the time was right, he decided to take action that very night.

After dinner, Sun Zhiwei checked the weapons and ammunition that might be needed in the shack and quietly waited for night to fall.

When it was late at night and there were hardly any pedestrians on the street, Sun Zhiwei rode his bicycle to the designated location.

It was a secret detention center of the Jakarta intelligence agency, located in the city center, surrounded by ordinary residential houses.

None of the neighbors knew that beneath this ordinary house was a prison, holding more than a dozen important prisoners.

Colonel Latif was locked in the lowest room, guarded by a fully armed team of sixteen men, all confidants of one of Hatto's trusted subordinates.

Sun Zhiwei got off the car at the street corner and calmly walked past the house. Just as he approached the door, space was cut through the gap in the door lock, and the lock tongue broke.

The door opened silently, and Sun Zhiwei happened to be walking to the door. He made a 90-degree turn and entered the room directly through the already opened door.

All the lights in the house were off, and there were six guards on the ground and ten underground.

The six people on the ground were resting in a windowless room, which was also the staircase leading down to the basement.

After determining the location of the guards in the room, Sun Zhiwei approached the door and took out two silenced pistols, using spatial cutting to clear a path as before.

The door to the room suddenly opened, and while they were still stunned, two pistols fired at the same time, killing all six men within seconds.

He quickly arrived at the entrance to the basement, used spatial awareness to confirm that the guards downstairs were all asleep and no one had noticed the gunshots above, before opening the entrance and going down.

Under the cover of space, everyone's movements were under his real-time monitoring. Sun Zhiwei opened the doors one by one and killed all the sleeping guards inside.

After confirming there were no survivors, he retrieved a set of keys from the wall, went to the innermost part of the basement, threw the keys through the fence, and then turned and left. Although the movements underground were not loud, they still alerted the prisoners, and Colonel Latif was also awakened.

When he saw the key being thrown in, he immediately leaned over the fence to try and see what Sun Zhiwei looked like, but he only saw the back of a man dressed in black.

After a moment's thought, Latif picked up the key and opened the cell door.

By this time, Sun Zhiwei had already returned to the street, gotten on his bicycle, and sped away.

The next morning, Sun Zhiwei was sleeping soundly in his shack when he heard a commotion outside. It turned out that a large number of military police were searching the entire slum.

He didn't panic; he simply huddled in his shack like the other poor people. Soon, someone smashed down a makeshift wooden door and barged in.

He remained huddled in the corner, but even smaller now.

The person who came in was a policeman from the Jakarta police station. The shack was dirty and messy. The policeman with the gun just peeked in and left cursing.

For the next three days, the entire city of Jakarta was under lockdown, with checkpoints everywhere on the streets. In contrast, the slums were quieter earlier, and no police were willing to come back.

Sun Zhiwei didn't go out; he stayed quietly there and waited for things to develop.

Colonel Latif is indeed no ordinary man; even with such a thorough search, they couldn't find him. It seems someone is protecting him. Now, Jakarta is in a state of high alert.

On the fourth day, martial law was lifted. Sun Zhiwei went to the train station to check around, only to find countless plainclothes officers mingling in the station.

Although there were no police officers in uniform on the streets, there were many plainclothes officers loitering around at various intersections. It seems that things are relaxed on the outside but tense on the inside.

Since he couldn't get out from the surface, he decided to go underground.

That night, he changed into a fully enclosed diving suit again, entered the Citarum River through the sewers of the slum, and then dived into the city along the river.

Not far from 8 Cendana Street in central Jakarta, he turned into a sewer.

Jakarta is an old city that is hundreds of years old. Although the sewers in the new city are better than those in the old city, they are still very narrow, only about the height of a person.

He used an oxygen tank to breathe the entire time and dared not smell the sewer.

More than half an hour later, he arrived at Cendana Street, where he could use spatial observation to view the entire private residence at No. 8 Cendana Street.

The house was guarded inside and out; it was impossible to get in from the ground.

It's also difficult to get close from the air; there are guards with Stinger missiles all around at high altitudes, and he believes that any helicopters that illegally approach will be shot down from a great distance.

Even the sewers have rows of metal fences to prevent people from sneaking in.

Fortunately, he had a spatial ability and didn't need to actually get close to Hattori's private residence. He could monitor the situation inside from a distance, underground.

Tomorrow is the Night's Ascension Day, and Hatto's wife and children have already returned home. They are all staying at the house tonight and will go to worship together tomorrow.

Sun Zhiwei stayed in the stinking sewer, occasionally using the space to replenish some fresh air for himself.
