Chapter 5 Ceremony
Qin Chuan was invited by the goblins to the top of the cave.

The altar should be located at the deepest level of the goblin's lair, and above that is their living area.

Qin Chuan guessed that this cave might be an abandoned mine. The passage was high enough for an adult to walk through, but goblins obviously wouldn't need that much height. There were wooden beams supporting both sides of the cave to prevent collapse, and even vents were dug to make the air less humid.

A luminescent vine grew on the rock wall, its leaves emitting a faint purple light, barely maintaining illumination. Qin Chuan had never seen a plant like this on Earth. Its roots were as thick as his wrist, climbing up the cave wall like a light bulb.

After reaching the upper level of the cave, Qin Chuan was invited to the only table.

Although the goblins looked scary, they had an almost crazy worship for him. Except for the leader, no goblin dared to approach him. They stayed far away and knelt down to worship him.

Qin Chuan felt like a president on a tour of a war zone. Wherever he went, the people welcomed him wholeheartedly.

On the table were earthenware pottery filled with wine and food. The smell of the wine was hard to describe; it must have been a traditionally brewed fruit wine. Qin Chuan didn't dare drink it, but the barbecued meat was delicious, with a texture similar to beef, yet slightly different.

Qin Chuan forced the leader to take a bite, then he put aside his worries and started to eat with relish.

He was very hungry and weak, as if he hadn't eaten for three or four days. He wanted to eat the entire table.

Qin Chuan was not afraid that the goblins would feed him some strange food. Although they looked a little scary, since they were subordinates of the Demon King, they would not harm him, the "messenger of God".

The goblin group in the cave was not very large. Including the young goblins, there were only about forty of them. They used simple weapons, spears made of strong branches tied to sharp stones, like primitive people.

But the strong individuals in the tribe are much better equipped, using weapons obtained from humans, leather armor and iron swords in the style of the Western Middle Ages.

The only one in the tribe who could communicate with Qin Chuan was the leader—the old goblin who looked like a priest. It had no name and spoke haltingly, its language skills at best equivalent to those of a four or five-year-old child, barely able to convey its meaning clearly.

It led its people to offer sacrifices and hold ceremonies to the great Demon King as usual, and then Qin Chuan appeared.

As for whether the Demon King had assigned any tasks or had anything to tell Qin Chuan, the human hero had no idea who the suspected target was.

It happened very suddenly. Just like the usual routine worship, the god really appeared and the goblins were confused.

After eating until his belly was bloated, Qin Chuan barely suppressed his hunger. Leaning on a chair made of tree roots, he asked the goblin leader who had been standing cautiously beside him, "Can you contact Ruby?"

The Goblin leader didn't know who Ruby was: ".Ruby...?"

"It's the Devil, the god you worship."

The goblin leader trembled visibly, and even couldn't speak Tamilan properly. His huge eyes were filled with awe and fear.

"Goblin, we are just goblins. No. No. We are not worthy."

What this means is that there is no way a low-level monster like a goblin could possibly contact the Demon King.

Qin Chuan's thinking was normal. He had never seen any country's soldiers on Earth being able to contact the president directly.

He then asked, "How do you perform the ritual of worshipping the Demon King? Can I try it?"

Qin Chuan wants to contact Ruby.

There was too little communication between him and the Demon King. Ruby threw him over after giving him the task, as if she was in a hurry.

Qin Chuan had no idea how to hide in this world, how to use the system, and how to contact the devil's followers. He had to ask clearly.

You can't just stay in this cave and hang out with the goblins, right?

The goblin leader scratched his head, climbed onto the table in three or two steps, stepped on the greasy food residue, and stood straight.

Just as Qin Chuan was wondering what it was going to do, the Goblin leader opened his arms, made a "Y" shape, raised his head, took a breath and prayed: "I fear that you will command me, Lord of the Apocalypse——"

"Bathed in the flames of fire, blessed by God's grace"

"I am deeply terrified, deeply terrified"

"This body and this soul, I return to you."

Its Tamil language unexpectedly became fluent, revealing an indescribable sadness.

The goblins who were watching restlessly around quieted down after their leader began to pray. They could not speak, but they all made the same posture. Qin Chuan actually saw a little bit of human shadow on their weird and terrifying faces - piety.

After six short prayers, the goblin leader opened his eyes and looked straight at Qin Chuan, as if to say, "That's it."

Qin Chuan followed suit, opened his arms, and straightened his body into a "Y" shape.

He had a good memory and could remember a prayer of this level after hearing it once, but he couldn't imitate the same tone. He could only repeat it as solemnly as possible:
"I fear to call upon your command, O Lord of the End Times."

"Bathed in the flames of fire, blessed by God's grace"

"I am deeply terrified, deeply terrified"

"This body and this soul, I return to you."

I don’t know if it was an illusion, but the cave filled with faint blue fluorescence suddenly darkened for a moment.

Qin Chuan blinked, feeling a chill that made him shrink his neck subconsciously, and then looked around suspiciously -

Nothing happened.

The Goblin leader jumped down from the table. His intelligence was not enough to make him doubt why the "God's Messenger" could not communicate with the Demon King. He just tried his best to explain to Qin Chuan:

"Ritual. Is not enough! Sacrifice is needed."

"Sacrifice?" Qin Chuan recalled the smell of blood that permeated the altar at the bottom of the cave, but that place was too dark and he couldn't find the source of the smell.

The goblin leader let out a strange cry, and soon several goblins carried two shriveled corpses to Qin Chuan.

His pupils shrank slightly.

These are two human mummies!
It is unknown how long he had been dead. His clothes were stripped off, and bruises caused by blunt objects could still be seen on his body. His skin was bloodless, as if there was not a drop of blood in his body.

Qin Chuan's heart suddenly jumped up. The tragic state of the two corpses told him that these ugly and short monsters from another world were not friendly colleagues!

This is not the safe and comfortable Earth, but a completely unfamiliar and dangerous world!
If I don't pay attention, will I become like this?
The goblin leader moved closer, pulling out a blood-stained map from somewhere and spreading it on the table. He said with a creepy laugh, "The sacrifices aren't enough! Go catch them! Catch them!"

This is a map of the city.

The map was extremely detailed, with directions and scales marked, even including the latitude and longitude of the Pangaea. In the four corners of the map, the borders of different countries were drawn. In the center of the map, an area not belonging to any country, was a huge lake. A city was built around the lake, and the cursive words written in Tamilan were printed below.

【Aishwell】

The Demon King predicted the birth of heroes in the city of Eswell!
