Chapter 48 Trading
The streets of Broom Lane are bustling with people.

I don't know where the wind comes from. Clearly, it's from a cave hidden deep within the mountain, yet the air isn't at all turbid. Quinn found a bench in front of Bryan's tailor shop and sat down. The cool breeze blew over him, puffing up his robes and leaving behind incredibly distinct trails.

He thought maybe he should dye his hair.

His oriental face with black hair and black eyes was too conspicuous, and passers-by always stopped to look at him.

Quinn pulled out his Clock Tower Bank card. The surface had a texture akin to a fine, frosted finish, a truly luxurious quality. The amazing thing was, when Quinn held it, he felt a vague connection. Perhaps this was what the goblins called a 'mark.'

The overdraft limit of this card is one thousand gold pounds, which is equivalent to the total income of an ordinary person for thirty years. It is undoubtedly a huge sum of money.

Although I have to pay it back, if I ever need money, I won’t be left alone like a poor guy.

Quinn originally thought that this was funding given to him by the demons, but he didn't expect that the one who guaranteed him was the Cavendish family.

Cavendish is the richest man in the southern continent, comparable to the aristocratic tycoons of the Clock Tower Bank. Of course, he can easily get a quota of one thousand gold pounds.

Cavendish…
Quinn didn't doubt Ankua's methods. It was normal for him to get a card with a credit limit of one thousand gold pounds, but why Cavendish?

This is Amamiya Ningning's family. Quinn originally thought that the relationship between Ankuya and Amamiya Ningning was ordinary and limited to colleagues. Now it seems that this is not the case.

Even though Amamiya Ningning knew that Ankuya helped cheat, she still hired Quinn and did not report Ankuya to the school.
But if you say that these two people have a good relationship, it is obviously not the case.

Ankuya kept calling Amamiya Nene a "crazy woman" and said that Amamiya Nene only owed him a favor.
Who was the person that Ankua asked Quinn to play during the interview that day?
He had a vague guess that this person was most likely the father that Amemiya Ningning was looking for.

Could it be that Ankuya knew the whereabouts of her father?
But when Quinn asked him, he knew the man's demeanor and appearance so well, yet he still said he was "a dead man."
strangeness.

Quinn speculated on three possibilities:

1. The Cavendish family is also a demon clan accomplice. Ankua concealed their relationship because he didn't trust Quinn, a recent warrior, and feared he might turn against them and wipe out the demon clan's forces.

2. Ankuya has some kind of cooperative relationship with the Cavendish family and knows the whereabouts of Amamiya Nene's father. He once said that Amamiya Nene owed him a favor, and his employment and the 1000 gold pounds may be the price for Amamiya Nene's exchange of information.

3. These two people used to be in a relationship, but now they have broken up, so things are very awkward.

Either way, just ask Ankuya tomorrow and you'll know.

"Hey! Sir, we meet again!"

A familiar, flattering voice came from the side. Quinn turned his head and looked, then his eyes turned cold.

The man with tattered clothes and a hypocritical smile like an insurance salesman is none other than "Jack", the man from the Western Continent who sold him jewelry before the jewelry store tragedy!
"What a coincidence! I came out to look for you after I got the goods that day, but you were gone. I was so sad for a while."

Jack pretended to be aggrieved, then his expression changed, and he said with a wink and a smile: "Fortunately, I, Jack, have always been honest and trustworthy. I didn't sell the item you ordered to anyone. I always carry it with me -"

Quinn narrowed her eyes at him.

"You're so brave! You still dare to hang around in Ashwell? The parliament has offered a reward of 300 gold pounds for you and your companions. Aren't you afraid that I will report you?"

"Oh, you misunderstood - I'm just a salesman." Jack put his palms together, leaned over and said: "As for where the goods came from, that's the upstream business. I didn't rob the jewelry store. The robbers were someone else. It has nothing to do with me. Besides..."

Jack lowered his voice: "Our deal isn't done yet, how can I bear to leave?"

He lifted half of his coat in front of Quinn, and a moving light bloomed from the diamond necklace hidden inside, instantly catching Quinn's attention.

"Then, as we agreed before, ten gold pounds."

"I don't want it." Quinn refused coldly.

He felt the strange impulse again when he last came into contact with Jack, urging him to agree immediately.

But with the tragedy in the jewelry store before him, Quinn suppressed this impulse the moment it appeared. He reached into his windbreaker pocket with his left hand and gripped the gun tightly.

"Get out, this instant. This is Broom Lane, Grindelwald's territory. You're a walking three hundred pound pounder. You can't get away if I yell at you."

Jack was very depressed.

"Sir, this deal is such a good one, your reaction is really sad."

"Why don't you get out yet?"

Quinn pretended to shout.

"You've already agreed to the deal. I'm bringing the goods to you, so you should pay. It's only natural."

Jack said with a smile, but there was only coldness in his eyes.

"What if I don't want to give it to you?" Quinn took out the Mista and raised the gun slowly: "What are you going to do?"

"Ah"

Jack suddenly bent down, put his left hands together, and the crisp sound of gold coins colliding could be heard from his palms.

He bowed to Quinn.

"Ten pounds for you. Thank you for your patronage. I wish you a happy life."

what the hell?

Quinn frowned, but then the man in front of him disappeared!

It was like a fragment of the picture was taken away so abruptly, leaving only the busy street, and from time to time someone looked at the gun in Quinn's hand.

Quinn's fingertips were on the trigger. He had a hunch that Mista's lock seemed to be intact, but he just couldn't "see" him suddenly.

After hesitating for a long time, Quinn still didn't shoot.

"It's a magic trick, so I say it is"

He hesitated and looked at the suitcase next to him. No one had touched the suitcase, the lock was intact, and there seemed to be nothing unusual.

"Damn it—"

Quinn solemnly opened the box and found the compartment where the gold pounds were stored. Then, Quinn slowly opened his eyes.

Ten of his thirteen sovereign pounds were missing.

Instead, there is a dazzling diamond necklace!
