Chapter 182 The Pizza Girl's Arcane Festival Night (Final)
"You came all the way to the academy to see me, is that all you wanted to say?"
"That's all my husband left behind. Oh," Yuu Amamiya suddenly looked at him curiously, "Ningning said you and Ankuya are quite close?"
"good."
"He actually made friends, that's good."
Quinn was a little unsure of this woman's stance.
As a secular noble and bishop of the White Cult, Yuu Amamiya is a pillar of the human world in Temuran. Does she know Ankua's identity? Does she know and still help him, or does she not know?
Quinn didn't intend to ask if his fellow villager was using divination to help him, and if he really wanted some kind of meaningless peaceful life. He could let it go himself, but without knowing anything about Aqua's background, it was best not to reveal her identity.
He harbored no affection for demons, but Aqua was different. He was only alive in this world because of this cheap friend. Before the time rewind, he went alone to fire the second shot, sending Quinn away, demonstrating that he didn't treat Quinn as a mere tool like the Demon King.
The moment Quinn proposed the method to kill the Demon King to the system, he knew in his heart that he would inevitably break with Aqua, who was fiercely loyal to the demons. That was probably a very distant future, and he hadn't figured out what to do, but he didn't want to betray that friendship.
"He told me two ways to leave this world. If the way to heaven is not possible, then the only option is to go to the abyss?"
Quinn leaned back in his chair, his posture more relaxed than before.
"Is this a trap to lure me into the abyss?"
Amamiya Yu didn't look at him, but instead helped her daughter tidy up her desk before leaving.
"I said, the choice to go back or not is yours. This isn't the first time you've received a message from him, is it? I don't know how he left you messages elsewhere, but they were either for help or hints. He never asked you to do anything, right?"
That's right.
Quinn sometimes felt that this mysterious fellow countryman was his cheat code, like a guide hidden in various corners of the game called Temurian, helping him understand and explore this world.
Before Quinn joined the company, Amamiya Nene's office resembled a junkyard filled with expensive divination tools and arcane materials. Later, Quinn's office was converted into a warehouse, where all the clutter was piled up, making it look much tidier now. However, this desk was the only exception; apart from the small spot in the middle where the little witch liked to rest her legs, the rest was piled high with miscellaneous items.
Amamiya Yu slowly tidied the table. She didn't roughly organize things. As if she knew her daughter's habits well, she placed the books with their spines facing up at her feet, put the quill pens in the most easily accessible place instead of in the pen holder, and put all kinds of jewelry and divination tools into stone boxes in a categorized manner.
Seeing the photo frame on the table, she would smile unconsciously, and even the oil painting of a divination sage hanging on the wall seemed to soften because of this scene.
Quinn had no memory of his mother, but for some reason, he felt that this must be the meaning of a virtuous wife and loving mother.
After quietly finishing packing her things, she said in the predictably calm tone, "You're trying to trick me into telling you what to do in the future, aren't you?"
Before Quinn could answer, Amamiya Yu continued, "How about we make a deal?"
"What deal?"
“I can give you some advice—it has nothing to do with my husband, it's just advice based on my experience. But in exchange, you have to promise me one thing.”
Quinn didn't rush to agree, and cautiously asked, "What is it?"
“It’s a small matter.” Yuu Amamiya stroked the photo frame on the table. It was of a black-haired girl holding a baby in her arms. She sat demurely in a chair, with a man and a woman standing behind her. On the left was a petite blonde girl with blue eyes, looking unhappy about having her picture taken, while on the right was the Earl, the butler of Cavendish territory, holding the royal sword symbolizing ‘not kneeling before the king’ for his master.
"If Ningning falls into the abyss, you must protect her."
Quinn was taken aback. This wasn't really a condition, since he had already promised to accompany the little witch to explore the fourth level of the abyss after advancing to Sequence Seven.
“Your daughter can resist the corruption of the abyss, so she doesn’t really need my protection.”
“That’s because of the direct bloodline of the transmigrator.” Amamiya Yu gazed into his dark eyes. “You should also be unaffected by the corruption, and even have a strong resistance to supernatural loss of control, right?”
".That's right."
"But she's different from you. She only has half the blood of a transmigrator in her body. She might not be affected in the first three levels, but it will be very dangerous going down."
"If you don't want her to go down there, why don't you just forbid her?" Quinn chose the easiest method.
"Heh." Yu Gongxi looked at the black stockings that her daughter wore and discarded under her office desk and smiled helplessly. "You'll understand when you have children."
"You can't control yourself, huh? Häkkinin, you're such a worry for Biology Mom. Fine, I promise you."
Quinn didn't make any grand promises. "I will protect her to the best of my ability. But if she insists on courting death, or if something happens beyond my control, then I can't guarantee it."
Amamiya Yu nodded with a smile.
"That's enough. What kind of advice would you like?"
Quinn spoke rapidly, "I want to know how to earn 100 million gold pounds in a year, advance to Sequence One at lightning speed without losing control, acquire ten Level 0 containment items without side effects, and what weaknesses of the Demon King I can exploit—"
Amamiya Yu's smile vanished, and she crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"There are too many. You can only choose one."
Quinn, speechless for a moment after his failed attempt to exploit a loophole in the rules, finally said, "Is there any way to get stronger quickly? Outside of arcane magic and the promotion sequence."
Amamiya Yu nodded in satisfaction.
"Get stronger, what kind of strengthening do you want?"
"Anything is fine, as long as it's fast, powerful, and without side effects."
After a moment of silence, she suddenly uttered something that Quinn had only ever read in books, something utterly absurd for someone of her status:
"Sir, may I have a moment of your time? I would like to tell you about our creator god and savior—the eternal sun."
