Mystery: When the Fool Meets the Masked Fool

Chapter 303 The Declaration of the Chief of Silver City

Chapter 303 The Declaration of the Chief of Silver City
As the battle raged, the moon rose, casting its silvery light upon Silver City and illuminating Derrick.

Derrick, now an "unsinkable behemoth," was still savoring the feeling from just now.

The feeling wasn't pleasant, but it was truly peculiar. Especially the last part. He had always felt that his preservation was meaningful, and that meaning had just become tangible.

Then came pride.

The Demon Lord provided three portions of the Lifeline Elixir. He was the first of the three to advance to Sequence Five.

Although he had a rough idea that the other two might be deliberately waiting for him, indulging him, and providing him with emotional support, like coaxing a landlord's foolish son. After all, the people of Silver City really didn't need to put on any act when it came to protection.

"How are you? How do you feel?" A reassuring, deep voice came from behind.

Derrick quickly moved his body, and the previous feeling of stagnation and heaviness had disappeared.

“I’m fine, Chief,” Derrick replied.

“Okay, then you can try being the leader of a patrol squad.” Klin began to delegate authority to Derrick. “You can choose the team members you want, preferably around five, and no more than eight.”

Derrick was about to answer immediately, but was stopped by the chief: "Try to experience your new abilities first. As the captain, you need to start learning to use your brain to combine abilities and select team members."

He pointed to a chair not far away: "Sit down and think it over slowly. This kind of thing can't be taken lightly. You have to consider your own safety, and you also have to consider the lives of your team members."

"Yes, Your Excellency." Derrick obediently sat down in the chair, frowned slightly, and began to analyze the ability he had just acquired.

First, there was the improvement in his physical abilities: his strength had become extraordinarily immense, and his body surface was incredibly hard. According to his own estimation, even without any extraordinary abilities, he could now withstand an air bullet from a Sequence Seven mage with his bare body. Even vulnerable areas like his eyes could be with him.

Secondly, there's the enhancement of his existing abilities: he can now conjure a city wall about ten meters long and five meters high out of thin air; he can easily restore damaged defenses; he can create dreams in large quantities to resist mental abilities; he can easily suppress undead creatures of lower rank than himself; he can deploy a simple "domain" to weaken, suppress, or even nullify the extraordinary abilities within; and he can also create some protective spells and spell-like abilities...

Finally, there's the new ability in Sequence Five: you can form a team; share and bear the damage taken by team members; within a certain range, you can exchange positions with team members anytime, anywhere; protective spells, such as "Armor Transformation," will have stronger effects and lower costs when applied to teammates; the more nearby teammates there are, the more active your spirit will become.

A very standard team core.

As always, it appeared to offer no offensive capabilities. But Derrick was not discouraged at all.

All he needs to do is don a shield and charge forward. The effect won't be much worse than the Dawn Knight's "Dawn Charge." That unstoppable momentum is enough to crush everything in his path into dust.

Who do you think I am? Move the boat closer!

Now, he feels like he's filled with energy!

Derrick suddenly became curious about just how strong the chief of the dual-path demigods, who was also the genuine guardian of destiny who had been watched by the Amber King, really was.

Derrick, one of the "Three Celestial Fools" of the Tarot Club, made no attempt to hide his curiosity. Once he had an idea, he simply asked.

"Your Excellency, just how strong are you now?"

Klin wasn't surprised at all; he was already used to Sun's straightforwardness.

He thought seriously for a few seconds, shook his right hand which had been blessed by the Amber King, and gave a fair answer.

“If it weren’t for Mr. Demon saying that the time wasn’t right yet, and that Silver City is indeed doing quite well right now…” Colin turned around and glanced at the brightly lit Silver City beneath the twin towers.

"I am confident that I can lead all the residents of Silver City out of the Forsaken Land within three days."

His tone was calm and unwavering, as if he were stating an objective fact. "Whether or not the guardian of the giant's court is truly an angel."

…………

It's Monday again in the blink of an eye.

On a misty sea, a fleet of ships is navigating through the thin fog and the azure ocean.

Their flagship was a huge sailing ship that flew a distinctive flag depicting an eye surrounded by ten stars, an eye without eyelashes.

This is the car that Cattleya drives, the Future.

"After crossing the Misty Sea, it will take about a day and a half to reach Bayam," the navigator said, glancing at the map and reassuring the anxious Frank beside him.

To be honest, the crew on the Future are quite worried about Frank's mental state. What if he can't handle the shock and ends up hybridizing the Future with a slug?
Frank leaned against the ship's railing, staring blankly at the sky.

"I was so stupid, so very stupid. I only knew that the mushrooms would be safe on the boat, but I forgot..."

Heath Doyle's hand emerged from the shadows behind Frank and silently patted Frank's shoulder a few times in a gesture of comfort.

He wasn't good with words and was also worried that Frank would confuse him with the toilet. So this was all the comfort he could offer.

"Admiral" Cattleya stood by the window of the captain's cabin, quietly watching the sunlight pierce through the thin mist, until the wall clock chimed "cuckoo, cuckoo."

Instead of going out to watch Frank's emo, she waited for something more important.

The weekly tarot session is coming up soon.

This will be her second time attending a Tarot meeting, and at the end of her last meeting, she told the Mysterious Queen about the existence of the Tarot meeting.

She knew perfectly well that her actions could not be hidden from the great, hidden being.

Not to mention at least three.

She had little contact with the members of the Tarot Society, did not understand the personalities of the three great beings, and could not be sure whether she would be punished or what kind of punishment she would receive.

Fear is the oldest and strongest emotion of humankind, and the oldest and strongest fear is the fear of the unknown.

She took a few deep breaths, glanced at the time again, and quickly converted it to Rune time.

It was almost time, so she drew the curtains and sat down behind her desk.

On the red wooden table sat a brass sextant and a light blue planetarium. The latter had large blank areas on its surface, representing unexplored or inaccessible areas—areas that belonged to paid DLC and would need to be explored later.

Cattleya stretched out a finger and fiddled with the planetarium. Then, she half-closed her eyes, awaiting the Fool's summons.

At that moment, her spirituality was stirred, and she felt a sudden fear for no apparent reason.

Before long, a surging crimson light appeared before her eyes, completely engulfing her, who was already prepared.
