Chapter 401 I won't bother you, I'm leaving.

boom!
A loud bang!
Roy quickly stood in front of Lilith, and the explosion of the energy ball couldn't budge him at all, but Dorothy was blasted away by the explosion and crashed into the wall.

Lilith watched this scene with a puzzled expression.

"How could this be?"

Dorothy looked very disheveled when she got up.

Her once beautiful black hair had turned into an afro, and her body, which had been held together by staples, had completely fallen apart. Black energy was constantly emanating from her body, giving people a very ominous feeling.

Roy and Lilith went forward to check on the situation.

The staples had broken, so there was no way to put Dorothy back together.

Fortunately, Roy had the Cursed Hair, which could be used as stitches to reassemble Dorothy.

This item is incredibly useful; it's one of the few items Roy acquired early on that he's still able to use today.

Of course, during the stitching process, you will definitely see some things you shouldn't see or touch some places you shouldn't touch.

Fortunately, Dorothy isn't the kind of chaste woman; she's more angry than anything else.

Dorothy got up and angrily walked towards Roy, seemingly wanting to question him, but after taking a few steps she realized something was wrong.

"What's going on? Why am I moving backward even though I want to move forward?"

Roy and Lilith exchanged a glance.

"Lilith, did you put her lower half on backwards?"

"It seems so, but I've checked it several times, how could it be installed backwards?"

Lilith looked a little confused, which was obviously not intentional and was rather strange.

Afterwards, Lilith helped Dorothy reassemble her body, but no matter how she reassembled it, some accidents always happened.

Either the leg is connected backwards, or the elbow is bent outwards.

Lilith took over at first, then Roy took over, and both times an accident happened.

The two guessed that the effects were likely a side effect of the doom divination.

The side effects of doomsday divination also depend on the difference in strength between the person being divined and the diviner, so Dorothy must have divined something extraordinary.

Thirty minutes later, Dorothy's body was finally put back together. By this time, Roy had a clear understanding of the Death Witch's anatomy, both externally and internally.

In the end, Dorothy's anger had dissipated, leaving only a look of utter despair on her face, and even her questioning became weak and feeble.

"Tell me, why did I divine the King of Lust? What exactly did you do?"

Roy was stunned for a moment before he understood why such a serious magical accident had occurred.

Although Dorothy was sealed away for so many years and her strength has declined a lot, she is still a legendary witch, much like Lilith is now.

At their peak, Dorothy and Lilith were both demigod-level witches.

Only if one divines the existence of the Demon King of Hell would such a severe side effect occur.

As mentioned before, people with the third eye who predict or divine about beings much stronger than themselves will suffer a backlash.

The current acting Supreme Witch of the Coven, Mortel Snow, suffered a backlash for prophesying Wendy's fate, even though Wendy's strength was not much greater than Mortel's.

Dorothy's situation is much more serious than Mortel's this time.

Roy thought about it for a moment and quickly figured things out.

"So that's how it is! That succubus was after me!"

Roy didn't believe there could be such a coincidence: a succubus suddenly appearing and targeting Marianne and Gretchen, two women who happened to have some connection with Roy, but not a very close one.

Dorothy has now divined Asmodeus, and it's very likely that all of this is a conspiracy by the King of Lust.

"Roy Black, answer my question, why did I divine the King of Lust?"

Seeing that Dorothy's skin was showing signs of redness again, Roy offered an explanation.

“In the summer, I had a conflict with the King of Lust. That succubus was most likely sent by the King of Lust to deal with me. It was my oversight; I didn’t think of that at all.”

Upon hearing this, Dorothy looked at Roy speechlessly.

"Why would you provoke the king of lust? Do you think you have too much time on your hands?"

Lilith, who was standing nearby, said something on Roy's behalf.

“Dorothy, Roy didn’t just provoke the King of Lust; in fact, he has already defeated four demon kings of hell.”

Well, Lilith still doesn't know that Roy has been in contact with Lucifer and Beelzebub again recently, and that all seven deadly sins have met with Roy.

Upon hearing Lilith's words, Dorothy's first reaction was disbelief.

"This is impossible! How could he still be alive after living through four hellish demon kings?"

"But that's the truth! The King of Greed, the King of Wrath, the King of Lust, and the King of Envy all fought against Roy, and were eventually driven off Earth by him! How about that, isn't it tempting?"

Dorothy felt a little tempted; if she could gain the protection of a powerful figure, her life would surely be much better.

After all, the Death Witch has been sealed away for so long, and her strength has greatly diminished. She might just be targeted by her old enemies.

However, Dorothy was stubborn and didn't respond to Lilith's comment.

"Hmph! You think I'd believe your nonsense? How could anyone possibly survive four demon kings from hell!"

Lilith shrugged; there was nothing she could do if Dorothy insisted on being stubborn.

"Fine, fine! If you don't believe me, then so be it! So what should we do now?"

Dorothy has just located the approximate location of the Underworld Archmage through divination, but because she wasted too much time assembling her body, the Underworld Archmage is likely no longer in the same spot.

In addition, Dorothy has accumulated quite a bit of bad luck, so the Death Witch finally decided not to go to the Underworld Wizard for the time being, and to wait until her bad luck disappeared first.

After Dorothy shared her thoughts, Roy snapped his fingers.

“My promise still stands. Just let me know when you’re going to find that guy. I need to go investigate the succubus thing now.”

Just as Roy was about to summon Claudia to leave, Lilith suddenly grabbed his arm and looked at Roy with a moist gaze.

"Roy, Dorothy and I have nowhere to stay right now. Can you help us?"

This is definitely not a problem of not having a place to stay. Judging from Lilith's eyes, she clearly wants to get into some serious fighting.

"Isn't this not good?"

"But I haven't seen you for more than half a month, my little master!"

Well, what can Roy do? He's a soft-hearted person.

So Roy called Claudia, and the three of them rode together on a motorcycle to the nearest property in Madison.

In addition to a large villa in Beverly Hills, Madison also has a more private property in East Los Angeles, which he uses to avoid paparazzi.

However, Roy discovered a problem after getting into the car.

Claudia's Harley-Davidson Buell Firebolt motorcycle is a relatively compact and small motorcycle.

Normally, Roy, who is usually quite burly, could manage on his own, but with Lilith and Dorothy added to the ride...

Lilith's is alright, though. Her puppet body is sculpted in an extreme way, with most parts of the body being quite slender, and only the key parts being sculpted as particularly full.

So bringing Lilith along is barely acceptable, but the problem is that Dorothy's figure is a bit plump.

There's no way the three of them could ride Claudia together unless Dorothy rides on Roy's head. "Roy, where's Bumblebee? Why aren't we riding Bumblebee?"

Although Lilith was happy to be able to get close to Roy, it was still quite uncomfortable for the three of them to be crammed onto one motorcycle, so Lilith couldn't help but ask a question.

"I lent Bumblebee to Saltana, and I didn't expect you guys to show up at the time."

Dorothy was also finding it hard to bear, because she was currently plagued by bad luck and was prone to accidents.

"Forget it, I'm not taking the bus. Just tell me the address, and I'll walk there myself."

Upon hearing this, Lilith also got out of the car.

"Dorothy, given your current condition, I seriously doubt you can even make it to your destination. Something might happen halfway there. Fine, I'll walk with you; that way, I can take care of you."

Since Lilith and Dorothy both chose to walk, Roy hesitated about whether to ride a motorcycle.

Lilith noticed Roy's concerns.

"Roy, you go ahead and do your thing, but don't forget to come find us!"

It seems this is the only way for now.

Roy nodded and then handed the villa key to Lilith.

"There is some food and drinks stored in the villa; you can help yourselves."

"Give me a kiss before I go, Mua!"

Lilith gave Roy a kiss, then left with Dorothy.

Roy watched the two leave, then saw Dorothy run headfirst into a telephone pole.

"Ouch!"

"Dorothy, watch out!"

"Fuck! I clearly didn't see this telephone pole; it just seemed to appear out of nowhere!"

It seems Dorothy is in for a rough time. Luckily, this woman is immortal, otherwise her fate would be dire.

Roy shook his head and leaned against Claudia to make a phone call.

"Hello, Mr. Orlin, this is Roy Black. I'd like to ask how things are going with Paxton Fairtay?"

"It's terrible! It's awful!"

Terrence Kaufman crept into an alley, entered through the back door of an apartment building, looked around to make sure no one was following him for a long time, and then knocked six times on the door of one of the rooms.

A moment later, someone knocked six times from inside the door, and Terence then knocked three more times before the door opened.

The person inside the room was Paxton Fairtay, whom Roy had called to inquire about.

Paxton stared intently at Terence in silence, a faint glint in his eyes that made the middle-aged man somewhat frightened.

"Director Felty, why do you look at me like that?"

"Come in first, we'll talk after you come in."

Paxton pulled Terence into the room.

As soon as he entered the room, Terence couldn't wait to ask Paxton.

"Director Felty, why were you placed on an internal warrant? What exactly happened?"

"Because of what happened this afternoon, I had a conflict with Gerald Orin. That guy set me up and wanted to send me to prison on charges of betraying the FEA, so I had no choice but to flee."

Terence clearly didn't believe this explanation, and the reason was quite simple.

These days, political struggles in America's area haven't reached the point of sending people to prison, even if the other party does have a criminal record.
After all, which politician doesn't have stains or dark secrets?

In political struggles, you send people to prison or even kill them. Aren't you afraid that you will be held accountable after you come down from power?
So even if it's competition, it's competition within a certain scope. You can throw mud at people, but you can't send them into trouble, otherwise it will provoke the indignation of others.

Of course, this unspoken rule is no longer applicable twenty years later, when everyone is more ruthless and cutthroat.

"Director Olympic shouldn't go to such lengths, right?"

Sensing Terence's skepticism, Paxton immediately changed the subject.

"It's too late to say this now, Kaufman. I need you to do me a favor."

"What's the deal?"

"I need you to send the contents of this USB drive to an email address."

Paxton placed a USB drive in front of Terence.

Terence looked at the USB drive in front of him with a very hesitant expression.

This guy follows Paxton because he wants to get back to his old job, not to go to jail and work on a sewing machine.

Now that Paxton is clearly falling, Terrence is thinking of finding a new tree to shelter under.

"Um, Director Felty, I'm not very good with computers. Please delegate this task to someone else. I won't bother you any longer, I'm leaving now!"

Terence made up an excuse and turned to leave.

Don't you want to know what's on the USB drive?

Terence didn't want to know at all. As a seasoned veteran in the workplace, he knew that knowing some things would only cause trouble.

However, Paxton didn't let Terence refuse and directly gave his answer.

"There's a suggestion in there to transfer you to the San Francisco office."

Terrence stopped and turned to look at Paxton.

"Are you telling the truth?"

See? They've started using honorifics all of a sudden.

So there's a reason why Paxton, despite his poor abilities, managed to become a senior agent.

"Of course! Once the information on this USB drive is sent out, someone will help you get it to the San Francisco branch, and you can say goodbye to Los Angeles."

Terence gritted his teeth, a struggling expression on his face.

This guy definitely wants to leave Los Angeles. After all, he's already affiliated with Gerald, and as long as Gerald is the chief, he can forget about ever getting ahead.

Gerald has been the Los Angeles bureau chief for less than two years, and it's possible that Terrence has retired before Gerald has even stepped down.

Because Gerald was a few years younger than Terrence.

At this point, Paxton increased his bet again.

"After you're transferred to the San Francisco precinct, you can start as a mid-level agent."

This sentence became the last straw that broke the camel's back; Terence had long been fed up with being an ordinary agent.

Can you imagine what it feels like when your former subordinate becomes your boss?
"Okay! I'll do it! It's just sending the information from the USB drive to the designated email address, right?"

"Yes, it's very simple, isn't it?"

"Director Felte, wait for my news!"

Terence took the USB drive and quickly left the room.

Or Dorothy
