Chapter 363 Holy Grail
Jocelyn suddenly threw a round ball, and Claire quickly closed her eyes as a bright light flashed.

The vampires' eyes had completely adapted to the darkness, and the flashbangs were extremely damaging to their vision. Most of the vampires present were blinded by the flashbangs, including Valentine.

Then, Jocelyn pulled out her dual pistols and began firing wildly in one direction, clearing a path for Claire.

Claire gritted her teeth and ran.

"Stop them!"

Claire's physical abilities are now comparable to those of an Olympic champion, and she broke through the escape route created by Jocelyn in no time.

But Jocelyn wasn't so lucky. The vampires who weren't hit by the flashbang surrounded her, and even though she was a seasoned vampire hunter, she couldn't withstand the onslaught of so many vampires.

Claire glanced back and saw Jocelyn being pinned down by a group of vampires.

"mom!"

"Run! Don't look back! Keep running!"

Even after being captured by the vampires, Jocelyn kept shouting for Claire to keep running.

Unfortunately, Valentine's vision quickly returned to normal, and huge bat wings immediately sprouted from his back, flying to Claire in the blink of an eye.

Do you think you can get away?

Claire was in despair. The only thing she could do now was probably transform into an angel and then explode with Valentine.

However, it's highly likely that Claire still can't defeat Valentine, even though angels' abilities counter vampires.

The problem is that Claire has no combat experience, while Valentine is a duke-level vampire who has lived for thousands of years.

If we convert that to the angelic hierarchy, it's roughly equivalent to a six-winged angel.

With the Smith & Wesson M629 in hand, Claire was torn between fighting Valentine and listening to her mother and committing suicide.

Valentine didn't seem to care when Claire pulled out her gun.

"I advise you to obediently come back with me, that way you'll suffer less!"

Just then, the roar of an engine came from afar.

Valentine, who was flying in the air, saw a blue motorcycle approaching from a distance.

"Where did this motorcycle come from? Didn't I have the road blocked off?"

Suddenly, the man on the motorcycle pulled out a large axe and threw it. At this point, the man was about two or three kilometers away from Valentine.

Valentine gave a cold laugh.

"Heh, throwing an axe from this far away? Are you kidding me?"

However, the next second, Valentine felt a strong palpitation, the kind of feeling that only occurs when one senses the threat of death.

Valentine instinctively used a life-saving spell, transforming into a swarm of bats and exploding.

Randomly, a golden axe, like a golden lightning bolt, ripped across the sky, instantly destroying a large number of bats.

At this moment, the thunderous sound of air being torn apart finally arrived; the axe had clearly been flying faster than the speed of sound.

The remaining bats flew to the ground and gathered together, transforming back into Valentine's form.

Valentine's face was filled with disbelief; he had almost been blown to pieces by the flying axe.

A flying axe thrown from several kilometers away almost killed a vampire of duke rank. Just how terrifying must that physical strength be?

Valentine had lived for thousands of years and had never seen such a terrifying monster.

Thinking of this, Valentine dared not show his face again. Using the large truck blocking the middle of the road as cover, he grabbed Claire and ran.

"Get out of the way!"

In order to save his own life, Valentine didn't even care about his own men. He kicked away the vampire who was holding Jocelyn, and then grabbed Jocelyn and ran away into the distance.

"Claulia, can you go any faster?"

"Sorry, Roy, this is my maximum speed."

"Then there's nothing I can do, I'll go after him myself!"

As he spoke, Roy transformed into his angel form, grabbed something from behind him, and launched himself forward like a jet engine with his eight light wings.

Valentine was already fast, but Roy was even faster.

Comparing the flight speeds of the two aircraft is like comparing a commercial airliner to a supersonic fighter jet—there's absolutely no comparison.

In just a few seconds, Roy was parallel to Valentine.

Valentine was startled and, realizing he couldn't get rid of Roy, immediately grabbed the two women and landed on the ground.

"You, you mustn't follow me, or I'll kill these two women!"

Valentine frantically grabbed Jocelyn and Claire by the neck, attempting to threaten Roy.

"Roy!"

Claire looked at Roy with surprise and delight, completely forgetting that she was being choked. In her heart, no matter what happened, Roy would save her.

Jocelyn looked at her daughter in surprise.

"He's Roy Black? An eight-winged angel?"

In Heaven, the four archangels with twelve wings are already the highest-ranking angels, so Roy with eight wings is not a low-ranking angel either.

"I also have a hostage. Do you want to take a look?"

Roy threw Abigail, whose cursed hair was wrapped up like a dumpling, onto the ground.

Valentine glanced at Abigail and saw that she had been tortured beyond recognition.

Although he didn't know why a vampire and a werewolf would be father and daughter, Roy decided to take Abigail with him after interrogating her.

Unexpectedly, it actually came in handy.

"You bastard, what did you do to Abigail?!"

Roy spread his hands.

"It's nothing, I just beat her up. Compared to the ordinary people she tortured to death, this kind of injury shouldn't be anything, right?"

Valentine gritted his teeth and glared fiercely at Roy.

"I can exchange hostages with you, but only one for one! This little girl, in exchange for Abigail!"

Valentine pointed at Claire.

Roy really didn't expect Valentine to actually exchange hostages with him. Could it be that the vampire and the werewolf's feelings for each other were real?

That would be quite strange!

“Okay, I’ll count to three, two, one, and you’ll let go of Claire, and I’ll let go of this werewolf.”

Roy reached out and untied the cursed hair from Abigail's body, then grabbed her in his hand.

"Father, I have disappointed you!"

The first thing Abigail said after being untied was this.

“It’s alright, Abigail! This kind of enemy is definitely not someone you can handle.”

Let alone Abigail, a royal werewolf who is not yet an adult, even Valentine, a vampire of duke rank, is no match for her.

Valentine had only felt this power from his father's vampire, the third generation vampire, a long time ago.

Roy had no interest in listening to the father and daughter apologizing to each other; he started counting down immediately.

"3, 2, 1, I threw it!"

Roy threw Abigail away with force, and Valentine kept his promise and threw Claire over as well. The hostage exchange went very smoothly.

Claire immediately hugged Roy, watching nervously as her mother was being held hostage by Valentine.

"Roy, you have to save my mother!"

"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to your mother."

Although he had managed to switch his daughter back, Valentine's situation remained unchanged. Given Roy's speed, Valentine had no chance of escaping, even with Jocelyn as a hostage.

That's why Roy exchanged hostages with Valentine, because he knew the other party couldn't escape.

"Angel, you'd better not follow me, or I really will kill this lady!"

Roy smiled.

"Oh, really? If you kill Ms. Frey, where will you find the Holy Grail?"

"How did you know..."

Valentine stopped talking in time, then looked at Roy in shock. This matter was a secret within the Elder Council, known only to the higher-ups.

Then Valentine's face turned ashen; he realized that there was a traitor within the Elder Council as well.

This is not surprising. If Hodge Starkweather could betray the Shadowhunters, why can't the vampires within the Elder Council betray the Elder Council?
After all, the Presbyterian Church is also in its twilight years, and not all vampires believe in the legend of Jesus' blood.

“Now, I’m giving you a chance. If you release Ms. Frey, I’ll let you and your daughter leave.”

Roy's words carried an undeniable air of authority.

Upon hearing this, Valentine was somewhat surprised and uncertain.

Do you keep your word?

Faced with the choice between the restoration of the Presbyterian Church and his own life, Valentine decisively chose to save his own.

After all, if Valentine dies here, the restoration of the Presbyterian Church will never be possible.

"You have no choice but to trust me!"

Under Roy's overwhelming pressure, Valentine ultimately chose to give in.

"Fine! I'll release Jocelyn Frey, but you must keep your promise!"

With that, Valentine carefully released Jocelyn, then quickly transformed into a large swarm of bats, carrying his daughter Abigail away into the distance.

Roy didn't pursue Valentine, partly because he was a man of his word, and partly because he wanted to completely eradicate the Elders' Council and the Dark Web in one fell swoop.

Abigail has been in Roy's hands for so long, and Roy has certainly done a lot of things.

"mom!"

Claire ran quickly toward Jocelyn.

"Mom, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I won't die anytime soon."

Jocelyn looked very weak. She had already suffered a lot of injuries, and had just been beaten up by vampires, so it was normal for her to be weak now.

"Mom, I'll treat you right away!"

Claire immediately wanted to use her newly acquired abilities to heal Jocelyn, but Jocelyn's expression changed instantly when she saw the white light emanating from Claire's hand.

"Wait a minute! You've already awakened?"

Claire found Jocelyn's reaction somewhat strange.

"Yes, I awakened with Roy's help!"

Jocelyn glanced at Roy, then pressed Claire's hand down.

"Claire, you must never let outsiders know about your special bloodline, absolutely not!"

This made Claire a little strange.

"Why? Aren't half-angels a bloodline inherited from our family?"

"There's no reason why! In short, you must never let anyone know about your special bloodline!"

"But Roy already knows!"

"He is an angel, so it doesn't matter."

At this point, Roy noticed something was wrong and asked Jocelyn about it.

"Ms. Frey, is Claire's bloodline more than just angelic?"

Jocelyn sighed heavily.

"Yes, to tell you the truth, Claire is actually the 'Holy Grail,' which is the descendant of Jesus. The blood of Jesus flows in her veins!"

Roy never expected that the Holy Grail wasn't a materialized cup, but a person.

No wonder Lucifer said Claire's constitution was very special!
"How could this be?"

Claire looked on incredulously.

Jocelyn stroked Claire's head.

"Claire's father was a descendant of Jesus, and this special bloodline manifests in his family every few generations. Claire happened to be in the generation where the gene manifested. Therefore, after Claire's father passed away, I took her and went into hiding under assumed names. Unexpectedly, the Elders still found out about me, but the vampires didn't know that the Holy Grail was a person, not a cup, so I managed to distract them and avoid mentioning Claire."

However, Valentine almost inadvertently exposed Claire's true lineage by seizing upon her threatening behavior towards me.

It really is!
If Jocelyn and Claire are both captured, and Claire is tortured by vampires, it might activate her bloodline and transform her into an angel.

Even if Valentine was stupid, he would have guessed it back then.

"Therefore, Mr. Black, I implore you to protect Claire and prevent her from falling into the hands of the Elders, otherwise human civilization will face a catastrophe!"

Roy really wanted to tell Jocelyn that even if the Elders obtained the blood of Jesus and caused the vampires to undergo a collective transformation, it would still be far from being a catastrophe for human civilization.

After all, no matter how powerful vampires are, can they compare to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

However, seeing how serious Jocelyn's expression was, Roy didn't object.

"I will take good care of Claire."

These words sounded somewhat ambiguous, but Claire blushed immediately after hearing them.

The atmosphere seemed to have become somewhat strange.

Just then, a blue motorcycle drove by without a driver.

"Roy, is the battle over?"

Jocelyn was startled when she saw the talking motorcycle.

Claire, on the other hand, was fine; after all, she had already seen a talking sports car.

"Not yet, we still need to deal with those vampires."

Claire also remembered some things.

“Roy, and Hodge Starkweather! That guy took money from the Elders and betrayed us to the vampires!”

"Is there such a thing?"

Roy was furious when he heard that someone had cheated on him, and immediately activated the Hound Ring.

Hodge was just an ordinary, trained human who couldn't run very far on foot, and the phantom of the hellhound quickly spotted its target.

"Wait for me, I'll bring him back right away!"

Roy didn't waste energy maintaining his angel form; instead, he mounted Claudia.

After all, the phantom of the hellhound isn't very fast, so the speed of the angel form is actually a waste.

Ten minutes later, Roy dragged the bruised and battered Hodge Starkweather back to Claire and Jocelyn.

"I've brought this guy back; you can do whatever you want with him."

Claire was furious and kicked Hodge several times.

"You damn traitor!"

"Stop kicking me! I was just confused for a moment, please let me go!"
