American Horror Story, Starting from Falls Town

Chapter 256 The Holy Ring of the Sun

Chapter 256 The Holy Ring of the Sun
"Is this the city?"

On the outskirts of New Centellaia, a white-clad nun with her eyes blindfolded gets out of a car and gazes at the distant city.

It was already six o'clock in the morning. In May, Maine should have already seen the sunrise, but the nun in white could only see the gloom over the city.

"Yes, Ms. Elise."

A middle-aged man in a black suit got out of the car from the other side. He had an ordinary appearance, the kind of face you could easily forget if you threw him on the street, but his eyes revealed a shrewdness that clearly indicated he was no ordinary person.

A dozen or so shrewd and capable-looking men in black suits got out of other cars and followed behind the middle-aged man.

"Then let me see the fate of this city!"

Iris's eyes, covered by a black cloth, seemed to pierce through time, revealing the future of Neocentrelia.

But after watching for a few seconds, Elise suddenly shook and covered her eyes.

"Damn it!"

"Ms. Elise, are you alright?"

The middle-aged man next to her tried to help Elise up, but she refused.

"Agent Edgar, I'm alright!"

"Ms. Elise, what did you see?"

Elise took a deep breath and answered the middle-aged man.

"I have witnessed the catastrophe in this city!"

Just now, Elise saw thick fog, ashes, flames, an inverted pentagram, and countless wronged souls.

But as she watched the final scene, Elise felt the images becoming increasingly blurry, and when she tried to concentrate and see the future clearly, she felt dizzy.

Something's not right here. The future Elise can see can't be that short, unless that future is being interfered with by some being.

To achieve this, one would need to be at least at the level of one of the Seven Demon Kings.

Thinking back to the inverted pentagram symbol I saw, could it be that Samael is manipulating all of this?
Then we must be prepared!

Elise's expression turned serious as she turned to look at the middle-aged man.

"Agent Edgar, this incident may be more serious than previously estimated. My suggestion is that the FEA immediately go on high alert and bring in more agents from the surrounding areas and headquarters!"

The middle-aged man hesitated for a moment, somewhat unsure.

After all, issuing the highest alert is a huge responsibility, and even a senior agent at FEA headquarters couldn't bear it.

"Ms. Elise, is it that serious?"

"If we don't do this, you might witness a city utterly destroyed and hundreds of thousands of innocent souls!"

Seeing how serious Elise's words were, Edgar had no choice but to take them seriously.

“Ms. Elise, I will report this to my superiors immediately! However, I have no authority to decide how to handle it. All I can do is transfer the Portland agents and FEAR members here.”

Portland is the largest city in Maine. FEA bureaus are usually located in big cities. Interestingly, there is also a Portland in America, in Oregon on the West Coast.

Both Portlands happen to be the largest cities in their respective states.

After listening to the middle-aged man's words, Elise expressed her understanding. During her months in America, the wise angels had already come to understand how the country operated.

However, while she could understand, Elise found it hard to accept the stupidity of some politicians.

I suspect this time will be the same; by the time the FEA executives and the White House finish their meeting, it will be too late.

"I need more help!"

Elise immediately thought of Roy. Although this half-demon had a complicated relationship with Michael, he was indeed a reliable person.

The angel of wisdom had fought alongside Roy against Mammon, the king of greed, so he had a very good impression of him.

Should we contact Roy Black?
The angel of wisdom was unaware that Roy had also arrived in New Centrelia at the same time, but because he entered from the north of the city while Elise was in the south, the two did not meet.

Just then, Elise's phone rang.

Well, although she is an angel, Elise has adapted to local customs and is now using all sorts of high-tech gadgets.

For example, the satellite phone she carries was provided to Elise by the FEA. It uses the most advanced technology and can be used for global positioning.

Elise knew exactly what FEA was up to, but she didn't care about such petty schemes, since she had a way to block satellite positioning anyway.

Human technology is not difficult for intelligent angels. In just a few months, she has earned several doctoral degrees, all to better understand the changes in modern humans.

Very few people possess the Elise number; it's probably only Isabella, Roy, Gerald, a few high-ranking members of the FEA, and the current president.

To Iris's surprise, the person who called was Isabella.

Since Elise went to the church in Fallstown more than a month ago to confirm that Michael had returned to Heaven ahead of schedule, she had not contacted him again. Unexpectedly, she suddenly received a call from Isabella today.

"Hello, this is Elise."

"Lady Iris, Lord Michael has told me that Lord Raphael has descended to earth."

Although Michael left Isabella's body, the connection between them was not severed.

So if Michael were willing, he could send a message from heaven to Isabella.

Upon hearing this, Elise's heart skipped a beat. Wouldn't this helper be here?

Raphael is one of the four archangels in Heaven, but unlike the other three, he is not very good at fighting and his abilities are more inclined towards healing, so he is known as the Healing Angel.

At the same time, Raphael was also skilled in music, poetry, painting, sculpture and other artistic things, which was quite unusual among angels.

However, Uriel and Raphael had a rather ordinary relationship, because the angel of wisdom was calm and rational, while the angel of healing was free and unrestrained; their personalities were completely opposite.

Therefore, Raphael did not tell Uriel about this when he descended to earth.

Of course, it's also possible that Raphael had a sudden inspiration and decided to descend to earth without telling anyone, and that Michael discovered it afterward.

Raphael had done this kind of thing many times before, often giving the other three archangels a headache.

"Isabella, is there any way to contact Raphael?"

Upon hearing this, Isabella remained silent for a moment before replying.

"I... I'm not sure if I can get in touch with Lord Raphael. Should I ask the Vatican?"

If it's about contacting the church, Elise could do it herself, so why bother with Isabella as an intermediary?
Elise's intention was actually for Isabella to pass the message to Michael, and then for Michael to use Gabriel's ability to pass the message to Raphael.

This process is rather complicated, but it is actually the fastest method available now, since nobody knows where Raphael is right now.

“Isabella, I have discovered that the Wrathful King is plotting something. I need Raphael’s help. Do you understand what I mean?” Upon hearing that Samael was behind the trouble, Isabella, who had a strong sense of justice, immediately changed her attitude.

"Lady Iris, I will do my best to contact Lord Michael! Please wait for my news!"

"It has to be quick. I'm currently in New Centrelia, Maine. Once I contact Raphael, I'll have him come here immediately!"

The call ended quickly, and Elise saw a ray of sunlight pierce through the clouds, bringing a brief moment of light to the city of New Centrelia.

"I hope it's not too late."

A hint of worry appeared on Elise's usually calm face.

The scene shifts back to Roy, who has just followed Sybil, a local, in his Bumblebee to the three-star hotel where the three little witches of the Apocalypse Society are staying.

However, Roy did not go in directly, for fear of alerting the enemy.

It is clear from the experiences of Madison and his companions that New Centria has been heavily infiltrated by the cult of the King of Wrath, and no one knows whether there are cult members with spies inside the hotel.

So Roy wanted to talk to Sybil outside to find out what was going on in the city.

Unsurprisingly, most of New Centella is a follower of a religion called the Followers, a situation even more prevalent than the Gluttony Kings cult in Los Angeles.

The Gluttony King cult primarily infiltrated the upper echelons of the Los Angeles Police Department, but quickly disintegrated after Elise took down its leader.

However, in New Centellaia, there are hundreds of thousands of people who are fanatical believers in the saint Jennifer.

Sybil herself is not a follower of the Followers cult, but quite a few of her police colleagues are.

The entire city was teeming with spies from the cult, so the three little witches thought they had escaped the cult's pursuit, but in reality, they were still under the cult's control.

However, the three were indeed quite powerful, and the cultists, not wanting to cause any further trouble, simply sealed their room with magic.

"It seems we still need to be more cautious."

Roy pondered for a moment how to rescue the three little witches of the Apocalypse Society right under the noses of the Followers Cult.

Sybil looked hesitant, as if she wanted to say something but dared not. Roy noticed her expression.

"Officer Bennett, is there something you want to say to me?"

"Mr. Black, is there something wrong with this Followers cult?"

In fact, Sybil had already gleaned some information from Roy's attitude, but she wanted to confirm it further.

"Yes, it is a dangerous cult."

"Why is this happening? My parents are believers in this religion!"

Upon hearing this, Roy looked at Sybil with some surprise.

Religious beliefs in America are generally familial, meaning that younger generations often follow the same religion as their elders.

"Oh? Then why don't you follow this religion?"

“My family was originally Protestant. About ten years ago, I went to serve in the army. After I was discharged, I found out that my parents had converted to the Followers denomination. They have been trying to get me to convert to this denomination.”

Roy's heart moved.

"You must have some clothing or tokens of this sect on you, right? Could I borrow them?"

Sibyl paused for a moment.

"It should be fine! Today is the Followers' Church's Sunday, and my parents should be at the cathedral by now."

"The cathedral, is that it?"

Neuschwanstein is a small city with only a few hundred thousand permanent residents. It is a typical tourist and cultural city with few high-rise buildings in the city center. The most prominent landmark is the cathedral in the city center.

The top of this cathedral is the large cross made up of four crosses (the one in the screenshot of chapter 253).

At that moment, the cathedral bells were ringing, and the whole city seemed to awaken to the sound of those bells.

"Yes, that's it! Devout believers will be going to church all day today."

In other words, today might be the time when cult members are most relaxed?

Roy looked thoughtful, then glanced at Sybil.

"Let's go, let's go to your house to get our things first!"

At Sybil's house, Roy acquired a red robe reserved for believers, as well as the Followers' denomination's scriptures and cross.

After putting on this outfit, Roy suddenly looked exactly like a genuine cultist.

“Good, this outfit should work. Officer Bennett, you stay outside and wait for me. I need to go into the hotel to rescue my partner.”

"Mr. Blake, are you sure you don't need my help? I should be able to lend a hand!"

“Officer Bennett, how about this? You stay outside and wait for me. If I don’t come out within twenty minutes, try to make some noise to attract the attention of the people in the hotel.”

"Ok, no problem!"

After giving Sybil his instructions, Roy entered the three-star hotel.

Roy's attire went unnoticed as he entered the hotel. Many staff members even nodded to him upon seeing his appearance, suggesting they were likely followers of the Followers cult.

They arrived at Madison's floor without any problems. Roy had already learned their room number from Mortel.

"Let me see what's going on!"

During the phone call, Mortel's description of the situation in Madison was rather vague, perhaps because he thought Roy wouldn't understand anyway.

To the naked eye, there was nothing unusual about the three little witches' room, but Roy tried pushing the door. With his current strength attribute of 60 points, even a casual push should have some reaction.

Honestly, Roy's current strength is so great that he could knock down an entire wall with a single punch, which is clearly abnormal.

"It seems something is hidden."

So Roy activated his Eye of Truth, and with a sweep of his golden pupils, he discovered a red magic circle drawn on the door of the room.

(Halo of the Sun)

This magic circle did not appear in the Key of Solomon, so it must have been created by someone else later.

Roy could probably see a lot of runes in the magic circle, which might be a combination of the Solomon magic system and the Norse rune magic system.

Just by looking at it, Roy could feel the powerful magic contained within the magic circle.

No wonder the witches Mortel sent to protect Madison and the others couldn't handle this magic circle; after all, the Covenant of Witches is just a bunch of weaklings now...

You still have to rely on yourself!
