Chapter 179 Coercion and inducement

Taylor felt a pang of sympathy seeing Loebak still kneeling by the bed.

“Lobak, go back to the third floor and rest. Wendy, don’t worry about me and Ophelia here.”

"No, Uncle Taylor, please don't send me away. I promised Chief Ophelia that I would take good care of the princess."

Seeing Loebak's stubbornness, Taylor could only sigh and let him be.

He thought the child wouldn't be able to hold on for long, but even as the night wore on and he was drowsy, Lobak showed no sign of leaving.

Ophelia gently patted Wendy's head from the bed and whispered, "Thank goodness she doesn't have a fever. She should be able to get a good night's sleep tonight."

Ophelia winked at Taylor again.

Taylor gently patted Loebak. "Wendy's alright now. Go back upstairs and get some sleep."

Lobak bit his pale lips and shook his head.

Seeing this, a cold glint flashed in Taylor's eyes. He raised his hand and struck Loebak on the back of the neck, knocking him unconscious. Then he carried the man to the third floor.

The babies are still young and don't sleep in separate rooms yet.

Loebak, being the older brother, slept with the little dragons so that he could take care of them.

Ophelia and Taylor thought they could get a good night's sleep, but they were woken up by the cries of the little dragon cub shortly after lying down.

The second son, Dan, kept scratching at the door. "Mother, Mother, help! Lobak is sick!"

"What's going on?" Ophelia asked Taylor as she dressed.

Taylor shook his head. "I didn't see any injuries on him."

Ophelia opened the door, and Dane immediately rushed over. "Mother Lobach is burning up! Is he sick?"

Ophelia's eyelids twitched when she heard that Wendy had a fever. She was surprised that Wendy, who had fallen into the water, did not have a fever, but Loebak was the first to get a fever.

"Taylor, bring up the pot of warm fever reducer. I'll go check on him first."

So Ophelia left Dan downstairs to look after Wendy and went up to the third floor, putting on her clothes.

The eldest son on the third floor was wiping Lobak's forehead with a wet handkerchief when he saw his mother arrive, and immediately made way for her.

"Mother."

Ophelia reached out and touched Lobak's forehead, finding it was indeed very hot. She then checked his body and found no external injuries.

He must have caught a chill while rescuing Wendy, which caused his high fever.

"My mother has had a fever for quite a while now, will she be alright?"

In Cohen's inherited memories, he knew that fever was a dangerous thing for cubs.

If they cannot be saved, or if they are not saved in time, they will either die or be maimed.

Even if they were lucky enough to survive, they would be burned into mentally impaired states.

"It's alright, just give him two doses of fever reducer and keep him warm, and he'll be fine."

Taylor quickly brought up the fever reducer, and the two of them worked together to feed Loebak a bowl of it.

Taylor tried to take Loebak from Ophelia's arms, but Ophelia refused.

"No need, let me do it. You go and take care of Wendy."

Logically speaking, Loebak is a male cub, so his body should be stronger than Wendy's, the female cub.

But now he suddenly has a high fever, and it cannot be ruled out that there are psychological reasons.

Such a high fever is harder to bring down, so she had to stay by Lobak's side and observe him closely.

Taylor suggested, "Why don't we move Loebak to the second floor? That way we can take care of him together."

Ophelia shook her head. "He has a fever now, he must be feeling unwell and will disturb Wendy's sleep."

Seeing this, Taylor had no choice but to agree.

Just as Ophelia had predicted, Lobak began sweating and experiencing muscle pain all over his body less than half an hour after taking the fever reducer.

His body was burning like a small furnace, and his limbs couldn't help but stretch out of the blanket, but Ophelia always tucked them back in.

Lobak was somewhat annoyed, but his body ached and he was too weak to even open his eyes.

He could only resist again and again. Seeing Lobak's persistence, Ophelia sighed, pulled him and the blanket into her arms, and held him tightly.

Once inside the warm embrace, Loebak became less restless.

But then she started talking nonsense again. "Mother, it hurts so much."

"Mother, why did you leave me? Why didn't you take me with you?"

"Mother, Baba's life is so hard."

Ophelia's heart ached at each call of "Mother."

She gently patted Lobak's blanket, soothing him softly. "Mother is right here, let me warm you up and it won't hurt anymore."

"Baba is your mother's most beloved child, you must live well."

"Mother hopes Baba is happy every day."

As dawn broke, Lobak's fever gradually subsided, and he slightly opened his eyes, seeing Ophelia leaning against the wall, hugging him.

The image of Ophelia's gentle comforting words from the previous night flashed through his mind, and he felt a lump in his throat.

If his mother were still alive, she would probably take care of herself like this when he has a fever.

Ophelia is a good mother, and Wendy and her two friends are very happy.

Lobak raised his hand to wipe the sweat from Ophelia's forehead. "Chief Ophelia, I'm alright, you should go back and rest."

Ophelia was awakened by his hoarse voice, and her first reaction was to touch his forehead.

Seeing that his fever had really subsided, a happy smile appeared on her lips.

"It's good that it's not burning anymore."

"Have some water." A fair-skinned little male came over, carrying a stone bowl in his hand.

Lobak looked at Cohen in front of him with some confusion.

“He just wanted you to drink water,” Ophelia explained considerately.

Lobak took the stone bowl and drank all the water inside.

Kern shook Ophelia's hand again. "Mother, go and rest. I'll watch over Lobak here."

Seeing how sensible her son was, Ophelia patted his little head. "Good boy, when your sister gets better, I'll take you hunting in the forest."

Loebak opened his mouth as if to ask Wendy about her condition, but before he could ask, a small figure ran in from the doorway.

Wendy ran to the bedside, staring intently at Loebak. "Loebak, are you sick? Are you feeling alright?"

When Wendy woke up and heard that Loebak was sick, she ran up to the third floor without even putting on her shoes.

She lay on the edge of the bed, tiptoeing, trying to touch Lobak's forehead, but she was too short to reach it even on tiptoe.

Loebak sensed her intention and bent down slightly, allowing Wendy to successfully touch his forehead.

"I'm fine now, my fever has gone down."

Wendy seemed incredulous, then looked at Ophelia and saw that Ophelia nodded, at which point she breathed a sigh of relief.

Looking at her daughter's concerned and worried expression, she couldn't help but shake her head.

This kid is really obsessed with looks!
She didn't know what to say.

"Wendy was fine after falling into the water, but you got a fever. It seems your constitution is not even as good as Wendy's."

"I'll get you some medicine; drink it to help your body recover."

Lobak knew these medicinal herbs were very precious and expensive. He repeatedly refused. "No, I'm perfectly healthy."

"Don't say no."

After saying that, Ophelia looked at her daughter. "Wendy, from today onwards you will supervise him to take his medicine every day, otherwise you are not allowed to go out to play."

Hearing her mother's serious tone and the threat of taking it out to play, Wendy immediately made a promise.

"Don't worry, Mother, I'll make sure Lobak drinks his medicine properly."

Oh my god, I had a fever of 38.5 degrees Celsius and still updated, but I missed updating last night. What did I do? I clearly remember updating!
