Chapter 164 Brown, son of the Bear Clan Chief

On this day, another male with a serious injury arrived at the Fu tribe. No matter how the tribe's doctor treated the male's wound, the bleeding could not be stopped.

Unfortunately, they had no choice but to inform Ophelia.

Meanwhile, Klein was with Ophelia at the time, and upon hearing about this, he also wanted to go with her.

He had only heard that the Fu tribe's wound medicine was very effective, but he had never seen it with his own eyes.

Ophelia arrived at the treatment room outside the Fu tribe's territory, where a burly male stood at the door, peering around intently.

Upon seeing Ophelia, he immediately rushed to greet her.

"Ophelia, you're finally here."

"The chieftain of the Bear Clan?" Ophelia was somewhat surprised to see the middle-aged male.

"My son is the one who was injured this time. His bleeding won't stop. Ophelia, you must find a way to save him."

The bear clan chief's eyes were red-rimmed, and his hands were covered in blood.

"Don't worry, I'll go check on things first." Ophelia didn't immediately agree.

After all, no matter how effective her wound medicine is, it can't bring someone back to life or heal flesh and bones.

“Ophelia, I’m not forcing you, I just want you to do your best to save him.”

The two arrived at the treatment room while they were talking.

As soon as I entered the treatment room, a strong smell of blood filled the air.

Klein frowned slightly as he looked at the blood-soaked male on the wooden bed.

"He suffered such a serious injury."

Klein judged in his mind that this male was not going to survive.

Ophelia stepped forward to examine the male and found his appearance somewhat familiar.

"Who is the Bear Clan Chief?"

“He is my son, Brown.”

Upon hearing the name, Ophelia remembered it.

Brown?

It was that male bear who cut in line for his family back then; who would have thought he was actually the son of the bear clan chief?

"Chieftain, I've used two bottles of wound medicine and hemostatic medicine, but his bleeding still hasn't stopped. I'm afraid..."

The tribal healer glanced at the bear tribal chief beside him, but didn't say anything more.

The bear clan chieftain's face was ashen, but he still gritted his teeth and said, "Ophelia, go ahead and treat her boldly. I'm willing to accept whatever the consequences may be."

Ophelia nodded and was about to step forward to check on Brown's condition.

Klein, who was standing nearby, stopped her, shaking his head at Ophelia and signaling her with his eyes not to meddle.

If someone dies at her hands, it will likely cause a lot of trouble.

"Don't worry, it's alright," Ophelia whispered to reassure him.

Seeing Ophelia's determination, Klein could only stand aside and watch over her.

To avoid the bear clan chief getting emotional and doing something to harm her.

Ophelia lifted the animal skin bandage covering Brown to examine the wound on his chest.

There was a deep claw mark on his muscular chest, and only a thin strip of skin remained attached to the wound.

Ophelia carefully placed the piece of meat that was about to fall off to the side.

Even though she moved very gently, Brown still felt pain.

Stimulated by the pain, Brown opened his eyes.

Through his blurry vision, he saw a slender figure.

"Oh, Ophelia."

Ophelia replied, "It's me."

"I'm beyond saving, there's no need to waste any more wound medicine on me."

Brown was pale and his voice was weak.

Hearing his son say this, the bear clan chief standing nearby had a misty look in his weathered eyes.

Ophelia saw that Brown had no will to live and knew something was wrong.

A person who lacks the will to live and gives up on themselves cannot be saved even with the most miraculous medicine.

She tightened her grip and said in a deep voice, "Have you forgotten that you still owe me a yellow crystal?"

"You want to just die like this? Are you trying to renege on your promise?"

Seeing that Ophelia had misunderstood him, Brown quickly shook his head. "No, I didn't."

His movements aggravated his wound, causing him to bleed even more.

The bear clan chief felt sorry for her and wanted to say something, but Klein stopped him with a look. Klein knew Ophelia's personality and knew she wasn't a petty person.

She must have a purpose in saying this now.

"Since you don't want to deny it, then focus on your treatment, get well soon, and return the crystal to me."

Brown answered weakly and hoarsely, then drifted off to unconsciousness again.

The tribal doctor rushed forward to check on him. "He's just fainted, but if the bleeding doesn't stop, he'll be in real danger."

Ophelia bent down to examine Brown's wound.

The wound was deep, and small fragments of stone could be vaguely seen inside.

"There was a stone in his wound, which is why it kept bleeding."

"What should we do now?" the tribal doctor asked.

"Now we need to remove the pebbles from his wound, and then apply hemostatic medicine and wound medicine to stop the bleeding."

The tribal doctor's expression turned serious.

"Then hurry up and choose!" The bear clan chief was getting impatient when he saw that Ophelia and the clan doctor were not moving.

Klein's voice was icy cold. "Do you want to torture him to death?"

“Uh…” The bear clan chief finally realized what was happening.

"Ophelia, do you have any medicine that can make you feel no pain?"

Ophelia shook her head, thinking to herself. Yes, she did have some, but she had already gambled away all her crystals to upgrade her farm space.

Therefore, she no longer has enough crystals to buy fertilizer packs to accelerate the growth of herbs.

Seeing Ophelia shake her head, the bear chieftain's face turned ashen.

He staggered and had to grab the wooden table next to him to steady himself.

"Chief Ophelia, I have a Mama Fruit here. I don't know if it's usable?"

"Mama fruit?" She had never heard of such a fruit before.

"If you eat this fruit, you will faint. If you apply the juice to your body, you will be unconscious for a whole day."

“I think if we apply the juice of the mammillary fruit to Brown’s wound, he won’t feel the pain when we pick up the gravel.”

"Won't this fruit worsen Brown's injury?"

The bear clan chief had never heard of a fruit like the Mama Fruit, and he was somewhat worried.

Klein stared at Brown's pale lips, his voice icy and devoid of any warmth.

"Now you only have two paths to choose from."

"We could treat him with Ma Ma Guo; perhaps there's still hope for his survival."

"Either give up treatment and take him away, or he will die."

"It's your choice."

Ophelia frowned; she had never heard of anything like Mama Fruit.

She wasn't sure if it would be bad for Brown's wound or have any side effects.

Brown pursed his lips, looked at his son whose face was getting worse, and after much deliberation, made a decision.

"Try it."

"Okay, I'll go prepare the fruit right away."

This was the first time this fruit had been used on a patient, so he was very careful when extracting the juice.

Only about a bottle capful of juice dripped from a single fruit.

Ophelia watched as the tribal healer applied the juice to Brown's wound.

"How long does it take for the medicinal effects of this fruit to take hold?"

The tribal doctor shook his head. "I haven't calculated it carefully."

Helpless, everyone could only wait quietly.

About ten minutes later, Ophelia reached out and pressed the skin around Brown's wound.

Brown frowned upon being touched.

"The medicine hasn't taken effect yet, let's wait and try again."

Ten minutes later, Ophelia touched Brown's wound again.

This time, the other party did not react. Just in case, Ophelia increased the force a bit more.

Brown still didn't react.

"It's done!" the tribal doctor exclaimed with delight. "I just silently counted over a thousand numbers in my mind."

"This should be the effective time of the Mama Fruit."
