Chapter 219 Going Home
Three years later.

"Qingqing, are you going back to Chaocheng today?" Wu Fangyi pushed her suitcase out of the room and peered down from the second floor.

The apartment where Shen Qingqing and Wu Fangyi lived was a two-story loft, with the bedroom upstairs and the living quarters downstairs.

"Yes, it's a ticket for tonight. I haven't been back for years, and there just happens to be a flight tonight." Shen Qingqing was packing some things she needed to take back on the first floor.

Wu Fangyi helped her push her suitcase down: "When will you be back after you go back?"

"The online side of the studio is manageable, but what about the offline side?"

Since Wu Fangyi accepted the offer from the tech company, she has been less involved in the studio's affairs. Especially during those three years, she directly returned all the profits to Shen Qingqing and officially withdrew from the studio's management.

Shen Qingqing opened her suitcase and quickly put things inside: "The situation is not stable enough for us to be able to let the children run around freely. We'll keep offline activities closed for a few more months and see. By then, I'll definitely be back."

Wu Fangyi nodded and squatted down on the other side of the suitcase to help her pack. "That's fine. Ziyang will continue to study for his doctorate at the university. However, the translation project he took on last year seems to have been quite successful. This year, he will be going to work at the project's domestic site. We two will most likely stay in the capital in the future."

In reality, that's what Wu Fangyi said, but she herself said that she had a strained relationship with her aunt's family and wasn't familiar with her biological mother's family, so no one could tell her where she wanted to stay after graduation.

The real problem between the two of them lies with Lin Ziyang.

Lin Ziyang's family is still very happy and traditional, especially since he is an only child. His staying in the capital with Wu Fangyi means that he either has to bring his elders to live with him in the capital or let them stay in Chaozhou.

Although neither choice is right in Shen Qingqing's eyes, in the eyes of the older generation and her generation, if a child grows up to be successful and does not bring his parents to live with him to enjoy a comfortable life, then he will be criticized behind his back. The younger generation is unwilling to continue living a life of being squeezed together with their parents and being disciplined and restricted at every turn.

Lin Ziyang and Wu Fangyi discussed this issue three years ago, while Shen Qingqing listened in while scalding duck blood.

This matter is simply a rehash of old news.

"Sister Fangyi, no matter what, I just hope you don't forget your original intentions along the way. Just remember what kind of life you want to live. No one knows what the consequences will be until a choice is made, but the consequences of a choice made for yourself will definitely be the least damaging." Shen Qingqing zipped up one side of her suitcase and said sincerely while holding Wu Fangyi's hand.

This statement is too absolute, but it is the most applicable in Wu Fangyi's current situation.

Wu Fangyi was taken aback by Shen Qingqing's words, her initial aspirations all along...

In a daze, Wu Fangyi recalled herself when she first entered Jinzhong High School, walking on the school path with Shen Qingqing under the sunlight, talking about her future plans.

She smiled, opened her arms and hugged Shen Qingqing, and said solemnly, "I definitely will. I've worked so hard for so many years, and that's what I'm doing."

"Okay, take care! I'll be back!"

The reason Shen Qingqing was in such a hurry to go home was because last year, she had a video call with her family and heard that Li Xunli had developed shingles in the second half of the year. Fortunately, Chaocheng is a small city with a large population flow, so as long as you pay attention to daily life, you can still go out. She found a well-known local "snake hunter" doctor to treat her.

Even after recovering, she still coughed from time to time. Shen Qingqing immediately recalled when Li Xunli was first diagnosed. When she returned home after graduation and learned about it, Shen Rongzhou and Li Xunli had casually mentioned that she had also experienced these symptoms.

So she couldn't wait any longer and bought a ticket home as soon as the airline resumed flights.

This time, no matter what Li Xunli says, she must be made to undergo the examination.

After a flight of several hours, the airport was still deserted. Shen Qingqing was focused on getting out of the airport when she saw Shen Rongzhou's car waiting outside.

"Dad!" Shen Qingqing happily hugged Shen Rongzhou.

"Oh dear, Da Bao! Da Bao has lost weight!" Shen Rongzhou looked at Shen Qingqing with eyes full of heartache.

Shen Qingqing waved her hand dismissively and pushed her suitcase in front of Shen Rongzhou. "No way! Fangyi and I are at home every day researching all kinds of food. How could I possibly lose weight!"

Shen Rongzhou chuckled without saying a word, put his eldest daughter's suitcase into the trunk, and drove her home with a beaming smile.

As soon as she got home, Shen Qingqing was enveloped by the aroma of the mushroom and chicken soup that her family was cooking.

"It smells so good!" Shen Qingqing couldn't help but exclaim.

The next second, the doors to the two visible rooms opened simultaneously, and Shen Yangyang and Shen Hong rushed out of their rooms to Shen Qingqing, shouting in unison, "Big Sister!"

Li Xunli also came out upon hearing the noise. When she saw Shen Qingqing, her eyes welled up with tears. She hugged Shen Qingqing and kept saying, "It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back!"

"You've lost weight. Did you skip meals while you were alone in the capital?" Li Xunli looked Shen Qingqing up and down, making the same judgment as Shen Rongzhou.

Shen Qingqing was both amused and exasperated: "You haven't lost weight, you're still around 80-90 pounds. Besides, I'm living with Sister Fangyi in the capital, how could I not eat?"

Upon hearing that she was living with Wu Fangyi, Li Xunli fell silent. After thinking for a long time, she finally said, "She only weighs a little over 80 jin. She needs to eat until she reaches 90 or 95 jin to be just right."

Shen Qingqing smiled but didn't respond. She was used to it. It was the same in her previous life. As soon as she came back from school for vacation, she would be told all sorts of things, like "You've lost weight" and "You need to eat more and gain weight." So she had experience with this and would just listen and smile and let it go.

Upon returning home, Shen Qingqing received the most esteemed treatment, often reserved for emperors. After being adored by Shen Rongzhou and Li Xunli for a few days, she began to receive the same treatment as Shen Yangyang and Shen Hong.

When Li Xunjin and Li Yuxing learned that Shen Qingqing had suddenly returned, the two families arranged to have a meal together. At the dinner table, they asked Shen Qingqing about her situation in the capital over the past few years.

Shen Qingqing mentioned some things in a light and inconsequential way, and then asked about the family situation and their health.

After everyone had finished speaking, she said, "Then let's find some time to get a full medical check-up."

"It seems that many people have developed some diseases they didn't have before. Although there are no major issues in our area, we are still worried that they might not have manifested yet. It would be better to get everyone checked out to be on the safe side."
