Chapter 201 The incident came to light
"Yining, wake up!"

Wen Shu checked Yining's faint breathing and immediately tried to release her supernatural power, but she was unable to use it after several attempts.

She slowed her breathing, deftly retrieved the communication stone, and still tried her best to activate the dormant power within her body.

"Is anyone there? We've run into trouble on the south side of the sea."

Her voice was slightly strained, and a few seconds after she finished speaking, a chaotic commotion came from the other end of the communication stone.

"Ah Shu, we're coming right away!"

Musil responded anxiously.

However, even knowing the exact location, searching for a sailboat in a vast ocean is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Wen Shu guessed that they wouldn't be able to come anytime soon, so she pressed down on Yining's hand and felt his body temperature gradually drop before her palm stiffened.

No, we can't wait any longer!

She carried Yining on her back and ran quickly to the cockpit, reversed the course, hugged Yining tightly in her arms, pressed her arms against his, and released her powers again and again.

Her arms were so tense they ached. Finally, as her anxious eyes reddened, a faint white light peeked out, only to vanish in a few seconds.

Rekindling one's strength is no easy task; even the slightest depletion is enough to leave one utterly exhausted.

Wen Shu felt a cold sweat trickle down his forehead. He cupped the face in his arms and saw that the purple color of his lips had faded and the rash had only partially disappeared. He breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

"Hmm, Ah Shu..."

Yining's long eyelashes trembled, and he opened his eyes a crack. The side effects of the medication had subsided considerably, but he was still too tired to stand up.

Seeing his completely unsurprised expression regarding his physical condition, Wen Shu pursed her lips, recalling his actions last night, feeling both angry and heartbroken, "Yi Ning, do you know you almost died! You..."

A reddening tinge appeared at the corner of her eye. Before she could finish speaking, Yining panicked, her fingertips trembling as she gently brushed against the corner of her eye. "Don't worry, it's just a side effect of the medication. I've tested it a few times, and just to be on the safe side, the dosage might have been a little too high. It'll be fine..."

Meanwhile, the males heading to the sea split up, with Nan and Luo Fei searching for the ships separately, while Lach and the others searched by water.

Piercing through the thin clouds, Luo Fei keenly spotted the white sail returning home, folded his wings, and swooped down at top speed.

As he landed on the deck and rushed into the cockpit, he heard Yining's weak response.

"It's a contraceptive drug..."

He paused for a few seconds.

As the footsteps drew closer, Wen Shu turned around and saw Luo Fei. Without pausing for a moment, she helped Yining up and out of the cabin. "Luo Fei, hurry, take us back to the castle first."

Knowing Luo Fei as she did, she knew that it was Yining who was sick at the moment, and he would definitely make things difficult for her on purpose.

Unexpectedly, Luo Fei spread his wings without saying a word and carried the two of them on his back, his attitude even somewhat... eager?
Wen Shu was baffled, but Yining's matter was more important.

She informed the males of her current condition, and upon returning to the castle, she immediately went to a neighbor's house to ask a female for help in treating her.

After a long day of activity until sunset, Yining recovered and Wen Shu finally went back to her room to rest.

She nestled in Wu Xuan's arms, pondering the day's events, and murmured before falling asleep, "Wu Xuan, I want to retest my pregnancy test tomorrow, remember to remind me."

Wu Xuan's fingers were twirling her hair as he enjoyed a rare moment of solitude, but he paused upon hearing this.

Long, smooth hair slipped through her fingers.

He watched as Wen Shu closed her eyes, her long eyelashes fluttering slightly, as she prepared to sleep. He lowered his head and kissed her between the eyebrows, responding softly, "Mmm."

The moonlight went from dazzling to dim, until the warm sun rose, and a blush of red quietly pierced through the glass window.

Having not slept all night, Wu Xuan's thighs were sore and numb, yet he remained motionless, gazing down at the sleeping female at the base of his legs, unwilling to look away.

Only in these brief moments does Ah Shu belong solely to him.

In reality, he was very afraid...

The males around Ashu are all so outstanding and intelligent, just like Yining yesterday. He comes from the royal city and is not only considerate and gentle, but also knows how to please Ashu.

Wu Xuan took Wen Shu's hand and looked at the dazzling ring, feeling a sharp, stabbing pain in his heart.

What if one day, Ah Shu finds him boring and suddenly stops liking him?
This thought had been haunting him ever since Ah Shu left yesterday, and it was now almost overwhelming him.

A sour, salty, and astringent feeling welled up in Wu Xuan's throat, and tears streamed down her face, dripping onto Wen Shu's cheek.

Feeling the chill, her eyelids fluttered. Wu Xuan's breathing became unsteady, and she quickly wiped away her tears and dried the traces on her cheeks.

When she woke up, her golden eyes curved into the same smile as always. "Shall we take a test?"

Meeting his passionate gaze, Wen Shu didn't notice anything amiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging to him and burying her face in the crook of his neck. "Hmm, we need to wash up first..."

Soft strands of hair brushed against her earlobe. Wu Xuan was preoccupied with her own thoughts. Even though they were being intimate, she was increasingly afraid of the potential disappointment that might follow.

His arms were tense, his brow furrowed and then relaxed.

After entering the bathroom, he did not let go of Wen Shu, but instead placed her on the sink and stroked her cool face with his palm. "Shu, let me help you."

……

Wu Xuan is acting strangely.

Wen Shu couldn't quite put her finger on what was strange about it.

But after he painstakingly washed her face and then fed her despite the public outrage, he still managed to do so.

He insisted on carrying her all the way to the temple, and even after the test ended and they returned home, he still refused to let go. She realized something was wrong.

At the dining table.

Wen Shu hadn't touched the ground all day. As she faced the tangible gazes of the crowd, a burning hot hand pressed down on her lower abdomen with unusual domineering force.

Wu Xuan leaned close to her ear, his deep, husky voice carrying a strange, ambiguous undertone, "A-Shu, try it and see if you like it?"

That was the meat soup he made himself, placed at the front, while all the food made by others was secretly pushed to the back.

What's even stranger is that the atmosphere at the table was stagnant, the men's faces were dark, but not one of them raised any objections.

When Wen Shu thought about going back to the house, she asked Wu Xuan what was wrong, and then opened her mouth to take the soft food from her lips.

A seductive whisper, soft as a feather, sent shivers down my spine: "Is it good?"

Wen Shu shrank back, her heart pounding. Being intimate in front of so many people made her ears burn red. She pressed down on the hand that was caressing her waist. "Wu Xuan..."

Seeing their expressions, Rach's face stiffened, and Luo Fei choked with anger, waving his hand and refusing to eat.

The others managed to maintain their composure, but were rather unable to enjoy their food.

After finishing the food on his plate, Musil's knuckles turned white. His gaze swept over the two of them, settling on Wen Shu's blushing face.

"Ah Shu, how were the test results?"

He's been very busy lately and hasn't had many opportunities to talk to Ah Shu. He had hoped to sleep with Ah Shu tonight, but judging from Wu Xuan's attitude, he'll probably have to wait a while.

Throughout the castle, everyone except the bandit Lach tacitly understood Wu Xuan's place in Ashu's heart.

Naturally, no one would confront him head-on and risk making things difficult for themselves.

“It’s 10% now,” the priest said, “as spiritual power increases.”

Even with that probability, getting pregnant on the first try is still considered an accident.

Upon hearing this result, the males all seemed thoughtful, except for Luo Fei, who looked at Yining.

Dinner ended amidst scattered conversations. Nan prepared to return to her room to care for the cubs, while Luo Fei and Yining huddled together.

Lach's face had recovered considerably, and he headed straight for Wen Shu with a clear purpose. But at that moment, the teleportation stone in Musil's pocket began to glow faintly.

Before Wen Shu and Lach could even exchange a word, a clear image appeared in mid-air above the dining table.

A tired, pretty face enters the picture.

It's Bai Qiao.

"Wen Shu, Lu Di has disappeared. Have you seen him?"
