After knocking down five beastly men, the vicious female escaped

Chapter 193 Reconciliation
After taking the branches and leaves from the divine tree from the high platform, the group hurriedly left the holy land and headed to the nearest city, Bain.
Stepping out from the earth's core where the divine tree grew, a still somewhat chilly wind rushed towards her, causing Wen Shu to shiver. When she looked up again, she saw a broad figure ahead of her.
Musil took off his robe and wrapped it tightly around her, saying to Wuxuan, "It's still a bit cold. Let's transform into beast form and go back early so Ashu doesn't get cold."
Indeed, even though the Beast God stopped the snowfall, the snow that had accumulated still stubbornly clung to the ground and treetops, only melting a corner when directly exposed to the sun.
Wen Shu looked around and saw that the ground was littered with the corpses of sea beastmen. The image of Sein, who had fallen into a long slumber in the Earth's core, flashed through his mind.
Before she could think it through, Luo Fei had already caught her in his arms, jumped onto the black panther's back, and set off towards Bain City in the golden sunlight.
The city gate was packed with people, a large number of migrants who had returned halfway through their journey, marveling at their survival.
Amidst this lively atmosphere, Wen Shu and the others queued until evening before finally entering Bain City.
Upon arriving at her newly rented room, Wen Shu couldn't wait and collapsed onto the soft bed.
The heavy burden on her heart finally lifted. She hugged the blankets tightly, let out a long sigh of relief, and felt all the tense cells in her body relax considerably at that moment.
I hadn't been lying down for long when my eyelids started to droop with sleepiness.
But she dared not fall asleep. After resting for a while, she forced herself to get up, for Bain City was still a bit dangerous.
They had come to Bain City with the Queen, and the guards at the city gate recognized them at a glance.
If the Queen issues a bounty, they're doomed!
The males were all downstairs, saying they were going to cook her a good meal to help her recover.
But they were still worried that her powers hadn't been restored and that she might be in danger on her own, so they left Wu Xuan behind.
Thinking she needed to leave quickly, but still needed to discuss where to go with them, Wen Shu, seemingly boneless, put her arm around Wu Xuan's hard waist. "Let's go downstairs, there are some things I want to tell them."
Still shaken by her three-day coma, Wu Xuan instinctively tried to refuse, but a warm body pressed against his chest.
"We need to get out of here quickly, I have a feeling Queen Nyss will find us..."
Afraid she would fall, Wu Xuan suppressed his suddenly racing heartbeat, scooped her up and sat her in the crook of his arm. By the time he came to his senses, she had already obediently walked to the restaurant.
Beside the long white porcelain table, the males were preparing food.
Seeing them arrive, Luo Fei picked up a piece of crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside roasted meat and quickly brought it to Wen Shu's lips, "Try it, do you like it?"
Luo Fei doesn't cook often, but he's very good at appealing to people's tastes.
Wen Shu took a bite as instructed, a look of amazement flashing in her eyes. As expected, Luo Fei raised an eyebrow and pulled her to sit at the table, filling a whole plate with food.
"Eat more if you like..."
With him taking the lead, Nan and Musil also gathered around, but Yining was nowhere to be seen.
Sensing her thoughts, Nan brushed his fingertip against her lips and whispered, "He went to the Holy Temple to report for duty and also to collect some crystal coins. It's not safe here..."
His thoughts coincided with hers, and Wen Shu immediately nodded affirmatively, "That's right, we must leave as soon as possible, preferably today."
That's what they said, but Wen Shu had absolutely no idea where to go.
Nan Sheng poured a bowl of soup and placed it in her palm. His hand, still warm, held the back of her hand and said softly, "I'll go buy a map of the Isa Empire. Take a look and see which one you like, and we'll go there."
His fingertips were covered with a thin layer of calluses, which tickled Wen Shu a little. She uncomfortablely pulled back a finger's width, and then heard Nan say, "Don't worry about Queen Nyss, if it really doesn't work..."
A gentle smile played at the corners of his eyes as he casually uttered the mind-numbing words, "I can handle them."
Wen Shu nearly choked on her food and quickly grabbed Nan's hand, "Cough cough cough, no, let's choose a small town together tonight..."
After they had eaten, Musil accompanied her back to her room.
There was still some silence between them, but it was no longer as if there was an invisible wall between them as before. Wen Shu sat against the headboard, while Mu Xier leaned against the bay window.
His handsome, pale face slowly disappeared into the shadows as the sun set, leaving only his soft, emerald-like eyes gazing quietly at Wen Shu.
Feeling uncomfortable under his gaze, Wen Shu, who was wondering where to go, bit her lip lightly and looked up at him.
Their eyes met, and her slender eyebrows furrowed slightly. After a long silence, she asked in a stiff tone, "Moussil, we will stay in the Isa Empire, you..."
Sensing something amiss in her tone, Musil, already on edge, stepped closer and covered her soft yet icy lips before she could speak again.
"Ah Shu, you said you wouldn't push me away again."
His pupils trembled as he looked into Wen Shu's clear eyes, feeling a bitter taste stuck in his throat, making it difficult for him to speak.
"The reason I didn't come to see you in time that day wasn't because I wanted to become the city lord..."
With a slightly trembling, deep voice, he recounted his experiences in detail, then stared intently at Wen Shu.
Seeing her eyes flicker and a hint of struggle appear, he could no longer restrain himself and pulled her tightly into his arms.
"Ah Shu, don't push me away anymore."
Hot, wet drops fell onto her cheek. Wen Shu looked dazed, her fingers gripping Musil's shoulder limply. "But that's something you've strived for since you were a child..."
Before she could finish speaking, a cold, hard hand on her lower back pressed her against Musil's chest with a slight force, the close proximity as if he wanted to melt her into his embrace.
A breath, damp with sweat, brushed against the delicate tips of her ears.
Wen Shu's heart tightened as she felt the heavy, suffocating heartbeats pounding against her chest. Her outstretched fingers gripped Mu Xier's shoulders tightly.
“A-Shu, there’s always a way to have the best of both worlds. I just want to stay by your side. As for Nayong City, I’ll think of another way…”
Feeling her touch, Musil buried his wet cheek in her neck and whispered, "Trust me, okay?"
A hoarse voice, tinged with tears, slipped into Wen Shu's heart, burning her with a chill.
Her long eyelashes drooped, she slowly slowed her breathing, gently stroked the side of her neck and the top of her head where her hair was a little prickly, and let out a soft "hmm".
It was just a brief whistle, and Musil froze, his expression blank.
The next second, she looked up at Wen Shu, her green eyes sparkling, "Really?"
His tense heart pumped with heat, and upon seeing Wen Shu nod, his usually cold face beamed with joy, and two shallow dimples appeared at the corners of his lips. "A-Shu..."
They had known each other for a long time, and Wen Shu had never seen him so happy before. She also didn't know that such a serious person as him actually had dimples.
Hmm...it looks great.
She paused for a few seconds, then saw his beaming smile, and the corners of her lips unconsciously curled up as well.
Two pairs of misty eyes flickered as they gazed at each other, inevitably drawing closer.
Before they could even touch it, the door creaked open, and Nan walked in carrying a rolled-up map, followed by several tall figures.
The sudden noise startled Wen Shu.
She looked up and met Nan's gaze. Her face flushed instantly. She reached out to push Musil away, but he grabbed her hand and pulled her into his broad, firm embrace.
Musil soothed her by gently gathering her hair, glancing at the men, and whispering, "Can't you knock?"
Compared to Wen Shu's helplessness, Nan, the culprit who made her blush so much, remained calm as if she hadn't seen anything at all.
He didn't respond to Musil, but instead naturally sat down on the edge of the bed, opened the map, and reached out to tug at Wen Shu's sleeve, "Shu, let's see where we're going next..."
