Chapter 180 The High Priest's Blessing

"Get out of the way!"

With a cold and sharp look in his eyes, Musil grabbed Luo Fei's arm and shoved him aside!
But Luo Fei was not one to be trifled with. He retaliated, using the momentum to pull him several meters away and fling him into the giant forest. "You lost the female, and you have the nerve to come looking for her? Ugh—"

The thick snake tail shot out instantly, wrapping around Luo Fei's arm, and the two of them crashed into the tree trunk, creating a deep crater.

A loud "bang" echoed from the quiet outskirts of the sacred site, as a huge green leaf fell, instantly attracting the attention of the beastmen who were kneeling and praying nearby.

The silver-armored guards responsible for maintaining order also noticed the commotion and gathered around.

"Stop! Fighting is forbidden in the Holy Land!"

However, their attempts to dissuade them were futile, and when they tried to stop them, they were nearly drawn into the fight due to their lack of strength.

The sounds of fighting were incessant.

Wen Shu took a deep breath, feeling annoyed by her emotional outburst.

She calmly stood up and saw a group of people standing around the edge of the dense forest, watching the two of them fight, and occasionally letting out gasps of surprise. Several black lines appeared on her forehead.

"Please give way."

Wen Shu followed behind Wu Xuan, squeezing through the males. She looked up and saw a giant tree, swaying precariously, about to crash into the inner circle.

But the two, blinded by rage, were completely oblivious!
Luo Fei is one thing, but has Musil gone mad too?
"Wu Xuan."

She looked at the giant tree, and Wu Xuan moved swiftly, catching the falling tree and dragging it to the outside.

Wen Shu stepped into the center of the commotion, grabbing Luo Fei's hand first. Seeing that Mu Xier was about to attack again, she pulled him back, saying, "Enough! Stop fighting! This is the Holy Land!"

Feeling the warmth of the back of her hand, a pang of sadness welled up in Musil's almost frozen heart.
He retracted his long tail, grasped Wen Shu's hand in return, and looked at her earnestly, "Ah Shu, I didn't, I didn't become the city lord, wearing this outfit..."

Seeing them shake hands, Luo Fei narrowed his red eyes.

Whoever it is, as long as they can distract the females, they can be eliminated one by one.

“Hiss—it hurts so much!”

Just as Wen Shu was about to pull her hand away, a heavy body suddenly pressed down on her shoulder. Unable to support herself, she hurriedly turned around to help Luo Fei.

"I'm injured,"

Luo Fei pressed his entire head against Wen Shu's head, raised his scraped arm, and waved it in front of her. "Hurry up and blow on it for me."

It was clearly his first time feigning grievance; his voice was dry, and his face looked extremely uncomfortable, as if he had swallowed a bitter pill, yet he still insisted on putting on a show.

Seeing that there was no more exciting duel to watch, the orcs scattered and returned to the campfire, praying towards the sky above the sacred ground.

When Wen Shu looked at Luo Fei's face, she simply couldn't bear to look at him.

This track is not for everyone...

She raised her hand to treat him, but Musil frowned, unable to bear it any longer, and shoved Luo Fei away. "Ashu, listen to me, I came to the celebration as the city lord to find you..."

Now that he's calmed down, Wen Shu doesn't need him to explain; he can already piece together the general outline of what happened.

But when she looked at Musil, seeing his anxious expression, she couldn't quite grasp the complex emotions in her heart.

He chose the Beast City over her safety; that is an indisputable fact.

Musil is a responsible and good city lord. She understands that if she were in her shoes, she might make the same decision.

But perhaps it's just being dramatic; she doesn't want to talk about these things, at least not right now...

Feelings are such a troublesome thing.

"Yes, I understand."

Wen Shu interrupted Mu Xier, and when she saw Wu Xuan return, she took his arm and then grabbed the pretentious Luo Fei.

"Why don't you go sit down for a while, or..."

She smiled, then, as if remembering something, looked towards the inner side of the sacred ground.

The soft light of the sacred tree was slowly moving from the inner side of the holy site outwards.

She pointed to the light source and reminded them, "You've come here representing Beast City, shouldn't you bring back a blessing gift for them?"

Her gentle voice sounded warm yet subtly distant.

Musil's breath hitched, and he opened his mouth to explain, when a figure suddenly ran out from the inner side of the sacred ground, "Lord City Lord, come quickly! All the representatives from the beast cities are missing only you!" His face paled for a moment, and he turned back guiltily, "A-Shu, I..."

"It's important business, you should go quickly."

Wen Shu expressed her understanding, but Mu Xier hesitated to move, so she had no choice but to pull Wu Xuan and Luo Fei away from where they were.

After walking a few steps, Wu Xuan's deep, concerned voice rang out above her, "A-Shu, are you alright?"

"Ok?"

Wen Shu looked up and met his trembling golden eyes. The sourness she had been suppressing welled up again.

"Don't look at me like that."

She lowered her eyes, her thoughts drifting away, and suddenly smiled, "I understand a little."

The vague and incomplete statement piqued Luo Fei's curiosity. "What do you understand?"

"I understand... why every long-distance relationship my roommates has had ends in a breakup."

When he said this, Wu Xuan and Luo Fei were both stunned, but they understood the meaning of the word "breakup".

Luo Fei realized what was going on and made no attempt to hide his joy, "Really! You don't want him anymore?"

Wu Xuan was more curious about other words, "A-Shu, what does 'roommate' mean, and what about 'long-distance relationship'?"

The two reacted very differently. Wen Shu's attention was diverted, and her mood relaxed considerably. She chuckled softly, "A roommate is a good friend who shares a bedroom..."

Wu Xuan laughed along with her, "So, we're roommates?"

Luo Fei bristled again, his red eyes fixed on Wen Shu. "What do you mean? You've slept in the same room with other people before?"

Wen Shu couldn't hold back any longer and burst out laughing. She looked at Wu Xuan, who was completely dumbfounded, and then at Luo Fei, who was inexplicably jealous.

"Luo Fei, are you jealous?"

What is a vinegar jar?

……

Wen Shu walked between the two tall males, and was so amused that she trembled with laughter. She lost her balance and leaned against Wu Xuan's chest, covering her mouth and laughing at the other male.

The scene, illuminated by the firelight, appears warm and sweet.

But to Musil, it was like an iron awl piercing a gaping hole in his heart.

The male standing nearby noticed that his cold, stern eyes were filled with a somber expression, and the aura around him was growing increasingly oppressive.

She shrank back timidly, "Sir, did I come at the wrong time?"

Musil snapped out of his daze and saw him shrinking his head into his chest, his long, straight black eyelashes concealing the loneliness in his eyes, as he walked heavily toward the holy site.

"Take the blessed gift back to Beast City yourself."

The blessing ceremony in the inner circle finally ended in the early hours of the morning.

As the pure white elk, carrying the newly appointed priest of the sacred tree, slowly emerged from the dense forest, everyone held their breath involuntarily.

"Is it... a god descending to earth...?"

Someone murmured.

Wen Shu was taking a nap when she felt a gentle nudge on her shoulder and opened her eyes.

When they saw the figure in the snow-white moonlight, clad in a holy, silver-white robe, with light-colored long hair also tinged with silver, they silently held their breath.

Is that Yining?

Seemingly sensing her gaze, the priest, standing high on the back of the deer, slowly lowered his long eyelashes. His fair and handsome face, bathed in the cool moonlight, resembled a deity with lowered brows.

"Ah Shu."

He looked at Wen Shu across hundreds of people, his calm and unwavering eyes reflecting her dazed face, and his eyes curved slightly at the corners.
