The Mystery of the Inner Demon

Chapter 6 Black money

Chapter 6 Black money

However, when Zhu Mingen heard Qi Fei say this, his calm state was suddenly broken.

"You are a policeman, you should speak with facts, don't scare me with dead people." He said hard, but the muscles on his face twitched slightly, and he was obviously nervous.

Qi Fei threw a report in front of Zhu Ming'en. "Here's a little-known fact: DNA doesn't dissolve in alcohol, but it can actually help extract it. You were so clever as to soak Chen Xiaojing's body in a jar of wine to mask the odor, but you accidentally preserved the skin tissue left under her fingernails. We detected a DNA sample in the wine that doesn't belong to Chen Xiaojing herself. This sample doesn't belong to Zhu Qi, but it's highly similar to Zhu Qi's DNA sample, so we can't rule out a parent-child relationship."

"No, I didn't kill Chen Xiaojing..." Zhu Mingen murmured, as if he was talking to himself.

"We have reason to suspect that you not only killed Chen Xiaojing, but also dismembered her body. You should know that your father, Zhu Qi, had a shoulder injury and couldn't lift an axe."

Hearing this, Zhu Mingen suddenly looked up and blurted out: "Is his shoulder injured?" It seemed that this was the first time he knew this.

Qi Fei was a little surprised: "You don't know?"

Zhu Ming'en sneered, "Ever since I was born, he's been hanging out outside every day, and he's only been home a handful of times. Not to mention his shoulder injury, I've almost forgotten what he looks like. He was killed by Zhu Qisha, and has nothing to do with me."

"We can find out by comparing it with your DNA."

"Maybe Zhu Qi has a trick up his sleeve. He wants to confuse your investigation and trick me! Don't you know? He is a swindler! He is deceiving you!" Zhu Ming'en was already hysterical when he said this.

Qi Fei knew he would not admit it: "We only believe in evidence. Whether you are guilty or not, let the court decide!"

……

Leaving the interrogation room, Wu Shanqiu sighed, "This Zhu Ming'en is truly 'better than his master.' Haha, isn't it useless for him to plead guilty even at this point? Speaking of which, Brother Fei, how did you come to suspect Zhu Ming'en?"

"Zhong Kui told me." Qi Fei said, "This woman is quite capable."

"Wow, come to think of it, you didn't tell me what happened after you went to Sanwu Town. Could this Zhong Kui really be psychic?"

"Shanqiu, we are police officers and staunch materialists. She certainly isn't psychic, but her observation and analytical skills still impress me. I have to thank her for this."

"Brother Fei, what you said makes me even more curious. Now that the Zhu Qi case is concluded, should I go with you? Speaking of which, where is that place?"

Qi Fei wanted to describe the place name, but the clear sound of wind chimes suddenly rang in his mind, and he was speechless for a moment: "It's... it's..." There seemed to be a fog in his brain. He knew what he wanted to find, but he couldn't remember it.

"Brother Fei, are you okay?" Wu Shanqiu asked, looking at Qi Fei's dazed look with some confusion.

"Strange, I suddenly can't remember it."

"Didn't you write down the longitude and latitude?"

"Don't mention it. She burned it that day, but I have the navigation records." Qi Fei hurriedly took out his mobile phone and opened the map software, but after searching for a long time, he found nothing. He frowned, "Strange, why are all the search records gone?" But he remembered that he had searched on the office computer that day, so he immediately rushed to the office and opened the webpage. Unexpectedly, a spam advertisement popped up as soon as he clicked it. It was obvious that he was infected with a virus.

The police station's network firewall level is not low, so it is very abnormal for the computer to be infected. He glanced at the USB flash drive on the table. It was sent to him by Zhong Kui. Oh no! He thought to himself, this virus is undoubtedly caused by Zhong Kui.

When Zhong Kui took the business card and address, he was smug. He had already thought of recording them on his phone and computer. Besides, he had a good memory, so he wasn't afraid at all. Unexpectedly, all his tricks failed, and Qi Fei was really angry.

There has been no news of Zhong Kui since then.

Winter came in the blink of an eye. Qi Fei had just arrived at the office door when an old man came up to him and knelt down, grabbing the corner of his clothes and crying, "Comrade police, you have to help us. Xiao Jing died tragically, and we can't let that Zhu guy go!"

The one kneeling was Chen Xiaojing's father, Chen Youwei. Qi Fei knew what he was begging for. The case was about to be sentenced. The good news was that Zhu Mingen was most likely guilty of intentional homicide. The bad news was that Zhu Mingen was still a minor when he killed people, so he had to be sentenced according to his age at that time, and he would not be given a few years.

Qi Fei didn't know what to do. It would be fine to ask him to investigate the case, but he was soft-hearted and what he feared most was the family members kneeling down and begging.

"Don't beg, he can't help you." An arrogant voice came, and Zhong Kui appeared at the door of the police station.

Chen Youwei was stunned when he saw Zhong Kui, and then looked up at the rising sun, as if he shouldn't see her in broad daylight.

This expression did not escape Zhong Kui's eyes. She raised her eyebrows, walked up to Chen Youwei, bent down and said, "I'm not a ghost, but I can do things for ghosts. You have to come to me."

After experiencing what happened to Zhu Qi, Chen Youwei had no doubt about Zhong Kui's words. He kowtowed to her repeatedly and said, "Please, Great Immortal Zhong Kui, redress the injustice for my daughter!"

"Then you know what to do?" Zhong Kui patted Chen Youwei's shoulder.

"I know, I know. I will put the money in the donation box when I get back!" Chen Youwei nodded repeatedly.

"Zhong Kui, are you a human being? You even make money by doing dirty things?" Qi Fei became anxious when he heard this and said angrily.

Zhong Kui disagreed: "Haven't you seen my black donation box? I never said I make money with a clear conscience."

"You!" Qi Fei hadn't finished speaking.

Zhong Kui lowered her head and said to Chen Youwei, "You know how to find me."

When she was about to leave, Qi Fei grabbed her arm. Suddenly, Zhong Kui turned her head and her long hair hit Qi Fei's face. The hair carried a sweet fragrance, which made Qi Fei dazed.

Zhong Kui observed his expression and felt inexplicably proud: "Don't tell me you can't remember."

"What did you do to me?" Qi Fei stared at her and asked through gritted teeth.

"Everything is your own decision and has nothing to do with me. It's the same for you and Zhu Mingen." Zhong Kui said and walked away.

Chen Youwei's emotions were suddenly soothed by Zhong Kui's appearance, and he left without Qi Fei doing anything else.

Qi Fei arrived at his office. The compass lay quietly on the table. Zhong Kui's words were still echoing in his mind. They were confusing but chilling.

He didn't understand why they said he and Zhu Ming'en were the same, but he soon found out...
