Chapter 9

Under the Wolf's relentless attacks, I gradually lost ground. I also pondered why such a powerful monster could exist in such a small place! It was incredibly puzzling. Normally, such monsters wouldn't appear in this area. According to the system's quest prompts, they should appear near the dungeon. But it looked like this wolf might have become intelligent! As I was pondering this, dodging the Wolf's attacks, I suddenly missed a step and nearly fell. It was in this opening that the Wolf caught me. With one claw, I was sent flying, and I spat out a mouthful of blood. I fell heavily to the ground.

My vision was bloodshot, and I trembled as I wanted to take out the healing potion and drink it, but both my arms were broken in the previous block, so I couldn't drink the potion! Looking at my own miserable appearance, I smiled miserably. Images flashed through my mind, and it seemed that I might die here today! But who knew how unwilling I was in my heart! I seemed to see a pointy-eared elf appear in front of me! Although I was only shown her back! But I am sure she must be very beautiful!

She was truly beautiful to a certain level! In an instant, I recalled the back of the person I saw before I fainted, and tentatively asked, "Did you save me? Little Elf Sister!"

The elf girl smiled and said, "Who else would have saved you? But how did you end up provoking that Sky Demon Wolf?"

I smiled bitterly and said, "I'm an adventurer from the Adventurer's Guild of Maine City. I accepted the guild's commission to destroy the ogres, but I didn't expect to run into that big guy! It really gave me a headache! By the way, what should I call you?"

The elf girl replied thoughtfully, "Call me Alice! Since you seem to get along well, just call me that!"

"Okay. Alice, why do you live here alone?" I asked curiously.

"I've been living in this forest forever! When you think about it, it's been almost 18 years! Haven't you heard of my legend?" Alice said, looking at me with a cute expression.

Seeing her look like that, my heart melted. I didn't know what to say anymore. For a single person like me, this was incredibly devastating! Alice saw my face turn red and asked anxiously, "Is your wound hurting again?"

Looking at her delicate little face and her anxious expression, I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my throat! I quickly turned my head to the side and said, "No, it doesn't hurt. It's just that you're so cute that my heart is beating faster!" However, as soon as I said that, I felt as if I had said something wrong, and my face turned even redder! After waiting for a while and seeing that Alice didn't say anything, I turned my head to look at her. It didn't matter. I saw that her face was also flushed and a little embarrassed, with her hands clenched in front of her! Seeing this scene, my reason told me, "I must find a topic to divert her attention."

"By the way, Alice, can you help me deal with that demon wolf? All the villages nearby will be slaughtered if it's there! And I found that the wolf must be very intelligent and has learned the strategy of luring the enemy deep into our territory!" I tried to change the subject.
After listening to me, she also reacted! She sat on the chair next to me, holding her chin with both hands, thinking deeply! Seeing her thinking, I was afraid that she would disagree and then added: "If you help me this time, I will do something for you in the future! How about it?"

Seeing the slight hesitation on her face, I knew this might be a possibility, so I was about to raise the price again! But just then, Alice spoke up: "It's okay for me to help you, just promise me one thing!"

I answered without hesitation: "Tell me, as long as it is something I can do, I will do my best to help you!"

"It's not that difficult! I just want to get out of this forest and see the outside world!" Alice said shyly.
After hearing her seemingly simple escape, I instantly understood something. This elf girl, Alice, might have been asking for help from someone for the first time in her life! In other words, she had never truly come into contact with another person! Otherwise, she wouldn't have asked me for such a simple favor! But, as the saying goes, don't judge a thing by its cover. All I care about her is that she saved me once! Even though, she's incredibly beautiful!
"I agree to this request. You can definitely ask for something more difficult. Why did you choose such a simple one?" I asked her with a little doubt.

"Well, this is my only request. I saved you because I don't want to see anyone die tragically! Otherwise, I will be very sad!" I stared into her eyes and found that there was no sign of lying.

Oh, it seems that I thought too badly of her! I suddenly felt extremely guilty!
"Oh, by the way, when I rescued you, there was a knife and a bottle of red stuff next to you. I thought these must be very important things to you, so I brought them back for you." Alice put my sword and healing potion next to my bed!
Seeing these two things, my eyes lit up and I said, "Looks like I have another favor to ask of you, Alice!"

"Can you feed me that bottle of red potion?" I said excitedly.
Alice pointed at the healing potion and looked at me and asked, "Is this it?"

"Well, this is it. Please!" I said
After saying that, Alice helped me up with one hand, grabbed the potion in the other hand, bit off the cork with her cherry lips, and poured the potion into my mouth!
