Chapter 7

After a full meal and a few drinks, I chatted with Bob about the guild. I learned that in this world, the Adventurer's Guild is divided into one headquarters and seven branches! The one in Maine is a branch. Adventurers are also divided into different levels, starting with Bronze, followed by Iron, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Extraordinary! These levels correspond to corresponding missions, and my hunt was also at the Gold level!
As we were chatting, we waited for the staff to come over to inform us. "Excuse me, is this Mr. Ling Yun?" the staff asked carefully.
"Yes, I am Ling Yun. What can I do for you?" I looked at the person and asked curiously.

"Yes, your bounty has been paid, which includes 5 goblins and the elite goblin warrior! The total bounty is 10 gold and 50 bronze. Please sign for it!" The staff member said politely.
I was stunned for a moment before I took the purse, not even checking how much money was inside! I turned around and said to Bob, "Bob, I'm going back now. I'll come back tomorrow to take on another mission. Could you please recommend a suitable mission for me then?"

Bob nodded quickly after hearing this! I politely said something to the staff member who came to deliver the message, then turned and walked back to my cabin!
After I got home, I asked the system, "System, are the tasks you issued to me synchronized with the guild tasks?"

"No, the tasks I have posted are completely unrelated to the tasks in this world! This system will post new tasks every day. You only need to ask the guild for similar tasks!" The system explained slowly.
After hearing the system's explanation, I breathed a sigh of relief. It wouldn't be fun if it conflicted with the guild quests, but thankfully, the system said it would release quests every morning! As long as I'd completed the previous quests, I felt relieved. I glanced out the window and saw it was already dark! I quickly ran to the bathroom to shower and wash my clothes! Then I fell into bed and fell asleep!

The morning came after a dreamless night. The first thing I did when I opened my eyes was to check the tasks issued by the system for today.

The quest is as follows: Kill a Sky Wolf 0/1. Enter the dungeon and explore! Note: There will be unexpected good things!
Seeing this, I quickly asked the system: "Does this world also have dungeons?"

After listening to the system's explanation, I thought for a moment and decided to go to the guild first to accept a mission commensurate with my strength to practice! I also needed to gather intelligence for the system's mission! After deciding on a specific direction, I quickly dressed, opened the door, and headed towards the guild!

The guild at this moment wasn't as bustling as it had been a few days ago. It was filled with adventurers busy accepting and submitting quests! I pushed open the door and saw a completely different scene than yesterday, which surprised me a bit! But then I thought about it and realized, that's right. I'd already slain the monster that was threatening the adventurers, so there was nothing to fear anymore. Earning money to support myself was the most urgent task! With that in mind, I headed towards the quest board. As expected, Bob was waiting for me there. He called me and quickly greeted me! Actually, he wasn't befriending me for nothing. He would earn a commission for completing the quests he introduced me to. This was the reason I was able to befriend him. It's more reassuring to have a purpose than just a few words.
"Hey, isn't this Lingyun! I didn't expect you to come so early! I thought you would come later!" Bob said in a joking tone.
"Bob, you too!" I replied with a smile
"Hahaha, same here!" We looked at each other and laughed together

"Is there any mission suitable for me today? I want to hone my combat ability!" I said in a different tone.

"Today there is a B-level mission to hunt an ogre. Do you want to take it? The reward is 5 gold coins!" Bob said tentatively.
"Oh? Ogre? Then please tell me the details so I can be prepared!" I answered without hesitation.

"This quest comes from a village outside the city, which has recently suffered from ogres! Some villagers are often captured! I don't need to tell you the end, I'm sure you should know! According to local villagers, there should be about 3 ogres attacking nearby villages from time to time, but for some reason, these ogres' targets have changed from several villages to a single village. The villagers can't go to the fields to farm! Every day they think about how to hide. If time goes on, they may not be able to maintain their lives. That's why they gathered some money and came to our guild to issue the quest!" Bob explained.
After hearing the basic information about the mission, I figured the shift from multiple targets to a single one must have some special reason for this village! Otherwise, these ogres wouldn't be focusing on just one village. It seems I need to do some on-site investigation!

"I'll take this mission! Is there a deadline?" I asked curiously.

"When I issued the task, I said I hope it can be completed as soon as possible, otherwise the villagers may not be able to survive!" Bob said solemnly.
"Okay, I'll set off now. By the way, where can I buy a horse? It may take me a long time to walk there!" I tried to ask
"Oh, you can buy horses from the guild. We also have this business!" said Bob.

"In that case, I'll leave it to you! Please help me choose a good horse! Also, please prepare 10 days' worth of food for me! I'll count it together with the horse later!" I said sincerely.

Bob's eyes lit up, and he turned to make arrangements. I stood there, thinking about the information Bob had just shared with me! I narrowed my eyes slightly. There might be someone or something in that village that the monsters want. What could this person or item be? I was really looking forward to it!
After a while, Bob came back with a majestic-looking horse. On the horse was 10 days' worth of food for me! I gave Bob a look of approval for his ability to get things done!

"How much are these in total? I'll calculate it for you now!" I said seriously.
Bob smiled and said to me, "Brother Ling, this horse is called Dark Cloud. It's a gift from the president! He said he's looking forward to your future growth!" I was taken aback. As the saying goes, no merit, no reward! It seems someone has noticed me!
