Mercenary I am the king
Chapter 873 Questioning
Chapter 873 Questioning
"What plan?"
The hunter looked at Song Heping with curiosity.
If faced with the situation described above, the hunter believed that this problem was unsolvable.
After all, what snipers fear most is air power.
The shelling was a minor matter.
If detected by the enemy's air force, it would be an absolute catastrophe.
The difficulty of a mercenary company and a mercenary special operations platoon fighting against a special forces unit of the most powerful country on the entire planet is unimaginable.
At least the hunter himself felt there was no solution.
"The first step was to cut off communications."
Song Heping planted a thumbtack representing his side's strength on the border line.
"Before the ambush, disable the Green Berets' radio and satellite communications equipment to ensure they cannot call for support immediately."
"Secondly, we need you."
Song Heping turned to look at the hunter.
"You must maintain precise sniping on the scene, occupy advantageous positions, and keep an eye on the enemy commander, who is your sniper team's primary target."
"Secondly, speed is key! A lightning strike."
Song Heping pointed to the map and said, "The special operations platoon will be divided into three groups and launch an attack from three directions at the same time to ensure that the Green Berets cannot organize an effective defense and take them down before they can establish a defensive line."
He paused, then added, "The most crucial thing is the first shot."
Song Heping pointed his index finger at the Hunter in the air: "You must make sure that the communications officer and the commander are killed in the first second of the battle, otherwise even if they send just one signal, the F-15E will take off."
The hunter nodded, his fingers gently stroking the barrel of the sniper rifle: "No problem, as soon as they show their faces, I can shut them up."
Song Heping stared at the blue flight path on the map, his fingers tapping lightly on the table as he calculated every possible variable.
The threat posed by the F-15E Strike Eagle is like a sword hanging over their heads, ready to fall at any moment. A 15-minute response time means that if the U.S. Army Green Berets are attacked, they have at most a 10-minute window to engage in combat.
If this time is exceeded, two fighter jets fully loaded with precision-guided bombs will roar in and raze the entire ambush area to the ground.
The hunter, standing to the side, noticed Song Heping's furrowed brows and couldn't help but say, "Boss, could we consider..."
"What are you considering?" Song Heping asked without looking up.
"Abandon the ambush and retreat immediately," the hunter whispered. "We don't need to confront the US special forces for the sake of the Sena government forces, especially with the F-15Es."
Song Heping shook his head: "Ms. M's contract has already been signed. If we retreat now, not only will we not get the money, but we'll also offend the British. And..."
He paused, his eyes turning cold. "If we leave now, the Senegalese government forces won't last ten days. When the American-backed anti-government forces come to power, the situation in the whole of Africa will change. Senegal is very close to Sudan. Once the Americans succeed, they will definitely expand northward. Do you think we will still have any space to live?"
He poked his head with his hand.
"Strategy must be based on strategic thinking."
The hunter remained silent.
He knew Song Heping was right, but the risk was just too great.
“Therefore, we have no choice but to fight,” Song Heping finally concluded. “But we must ensure that the battle is resolved within 10 minutes, and then withdraw immediately.”
Song Heping re-examined the map, his finger sliding along the possible patrol routes of the Green Hat squad.
“They’re stationed in this abandoned mine. The terrain is complex and easy to defend, but difficult to attack,” he said in a low voice. “A direct assault won’t work; we have to lure them out.”
The hunter frowned: "How do we lure them in?"
“Use bait.” Song Heping’s lips curled slightly. “They’re supporting the MLC militia. If the MLC headquarters is attacked, do you think they’ll show up?”
"Then we'll ambush them halfway?" The hunter's eyes lit up.
“Yes.” Song Heping nodded, “But the ambush site must be chosen in a place with extremely poor communication signals to ensure that they cannot call for support immediately.”
After a moment's thought, the hunter pointed to a canyon on the map: "How about this place? High ground on both sides, narrow in the middle, strong signal jamming, suitable for snipers to control the battlefield."
Just as Song Heping and the hunter were discussing tactical details, a sudden burst of noisy footsteps came from outside the tent. Immediately afterwards, a Sena government soldier rushed in, looking tense.
"Mr. Song, General Ula has arrived!"
Song Heping frowned: "Hurrah?"
The hunter whispered a reminder: "The commander-in-chief of the Sena government forces is said to have a very bad temper."
Before Song Heping could respond, the tent flap was suddenly flung open, and a burly black general in a Sena military uniform strode in, followed by several officers and military advisors.
"So you are Song Heping?" General Ula's voice was deep and authoritative, carrying obvious displeasure.
Song Heping stood up and nodded calmly: "It's me."
General Ula glanced at the map on the table and sneered, "Three days! You've been in Seine for three days, and you haven't taken a single step! The capital is about to fall to the rebels, and you're still studying maps?"
Song Heping did not answer immediately, but glanced at the military advisory group behind Ula—several white officers were looking at him with contempt; they were clearly French military advisors.
“General,” Song Heping said slowly, “warfare is not about brute force, but about tactics.”
“Tactics?” General Ulla scoffed. “The British raved about you, calling you the ‘most dangerous mercenary on the African battlefield,’ and what did you do? You didn’t even fire a single shot!”
Song Heping's eyes turned slightly cold: "If what the general wants is a mindless charge, then I can take you and your troops to your deaths right now."
General Ulla's face darkened, and he was about to lash out when a French military advisor beside him suddenly spoke up: "Mr. Song, if I may be so bold, the situation is extremely dire. The rebels are less than a hundred kilometers from the capital. We don't have time to wait for you to slowly devise your 'perfect plan'."
Song Heping looked at him: "Who are you?"
"My name is Fernando, a French military advisor."
The other party arrogantly raised their chin. "To be honest, we are very disappointed in you."
Song Heping sneered: "Disappointed? Then why don't you go yourselves? How long have you French been here? Longer than me, right? You know the Americans are behind this, don't you? Why don't you go? If you were even slightly useful, would the capital of Seine be under siege?"
Fernando's face stiffened.
General Ula slammed his fist on the table and roared, "Enough! Song Heping, I'm giving you 24 hours. If you don't act now, I'll ask Ms. M to replace you!"
After saying that, he turned and strode away, with the military advisory group following closely behind. As he left, he threw down a sarcastic remark: "It seems that the so-called African 'legendary mercenaries' are nothing special."
The hunter watched them leave and muttered under his breath, "A bunch of useless trash. They don't dare to go to the battlefield themselves, but they're good at pointing fingers."
Song Heping remained calm, sat back down in his chair, and stared at the map.
"Boss, what do we do now?" the hunter asked.
Song Heping was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed: "What should we do? They're anxious, and you're anxious too? They don't need to go to the battlefield, but we do."
When the time came, Song Heping stared at the hunter very seriously: "Remember, don't bother with those idiots who don't have to go to the battlefield."
