Mercenary I am the king
Chapter 782 Chaos
Chapter 782 Chaos
Somalia, outside Mogadishu.
Inside the abandoned oil refinery, the smell of rust and diesel fuel mingled with the scorching heat of the desert, creating a suffocating atmosphere.
Saga Mahmoud led more than sixty fully armed men into the factory area, his boots making a crisp sound as they stepped on the cracked concrete.
His gaze swept around—Somali militants from various factions were gathered in twos and threes, AK-47s casually slung over their shoulders, some smoking, some talking in hushed tones, but no one noticed his arrival.
"Something's wrong."
After looking around, Saga whispered to his confidant Hal, "Song Heping is not here."
Hal squinted, his fingers unconsciously stroking the trigger of the tactical rifle hanging on his chest.
"Boss, what if he didn't even come?"
Saga did not answer, but walked straight to the container yard in the center of the factory area.
There, Abdul was sitting on a worn-out sofa, with four bodyguards wearing black masks standing beside him, holding AK-74 assault rifles equipped with grenade launchers.
"Abdul," Saga approached, his voice low, "Have you found Song Heping?"
Abdul raised his head, his eyes sinister. He slowly exhaled a smoke ring and sneered, "You're asking me? I'd like to ask you the same thing."
His face turned grim.
"I should be asking you that question. You said you'd lead him here, but where is he?"
Saga's expression instantly turned grim. He lowered his voice: "Weren't your men keeping watch here the whole time? I just called him, and he said they were already here..."
Abdul suddenly stood up, grabbed Saga by the collar, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Are you fucking playing me? There's no Song Heping here at all! My men were indeed watching around, but they didn't find him. I'm still waiting for your news! And now you come here asking me if I've seen him?"
The atmosphere at the scene suddenly became tense.
The surrounding militants noticed something was amiss, stopped talking, and unconsciously reached for their weapons.
Saga abruptly shoved Abdul's hand away and shouted, "Calm down! Song Heping must be mixed in with the crowd! This will attract his attention..."
"Bullshit!" Abdul roared. "My men have searched everyone! No Asian faces, no unfamiliar armed squads! Are you fucking covering for Song Heping?"
As he spoke, a murderous glint appeared in his eyes, and his hand reached for his waist.
Saga's face was ashen, like a dead man.
He suddenly realized he was in a dead end—if Song Heping really didn't come, then he would become a liar in Abdul's eyes, or even a traitor.
If Song Heping really came, he would definitely have seen all of this and know that he had betrayed him.
Abdul has such a bad temper; he's not calm at all.
This time, everything was exposed.
Damn idiot!
Saga was furious at Abdul's mental disability.
"Boss..."
Hal approached Saga and winked at him.
Saga glanced out of the corner of his eye and saw that Abdul's men had silently taken up the high ground, with several PKM machine guns pointed directly at them.
“Damn it…” Saga gritted his teeth and turned to Abdul: “Abdul, what do you mean by this?!”
Abdul suddenly pulled out a pistol and pointed it at Saga's head: "Stop acting, Saga, all you want is for me to give you more territory, right? Why put on an act? And what about Song Heping? Where is he? Go find him! I hate people who treat me like a monkey!"
“Calm down, Abdul. I don’t need to put on an act for you… It really was Song Heping who contacted me through Nura, wanting to cooperate with me to deal with you…”
"You think I'll believe you just because you said that?" Abdul sneered. "If that's the case, where are the others?"
"He might be here..."
"fart!"
Abdul rudely interrupted Saga's explanation, his eyes flashing with even more ferocity, like a raging bull.
Saga reacted even faster.
He knew that things had come to an irreversible point and that the current situation was a dead end.
"Wait! Don't shoot, let me explain."
Saga feigned weakness, then, taking advantage of Abdul's momentary lapse in concentration, suddenly turned sideways, drew his Glock pistol from his waist, and fired a shot at Abdul. Abdul was startled and immediately pulled the trigger.
bah—
boom--
Abdul was shot in the shoulder and fell to the ground.
Saga was even more clever than a demon; as he fired the shot, he had already dodged and rolled to the side.
The moment the gunshot rang out, the entire oil refinery erupted into chaos.
Abdul's guards immediately swarmed forward, and Saga led his men to retreat out of the refinery amidst the chaos.
"Kill them!"
Seeing Saga slipping away unscathed, Abdul roared, clutching his shoulder.
"Don't let anyone go!"
Da da da da——
The roar of the PKM machine gun tore through the air, and bullets rained down like a storm. Saga's two henchmen were instantly riddled with bullets, their blood splattering onto the rusted steel.
"Take cover!"
Saga rolled onto an abandoned oil tanker, with Hal close behind, tearing a smoke bomb off his body and flinging it toward Abdul.
"laugh--"
Thick smoke instantly filled the air, obscuring visibility.
"RPG Hand!"
One of Abdul's men shouted.
"Kill them!"
"boom!"
The rocket roared out and hit the oil tanker where Saga was hiding. The shockwave from the explosion knocked Saga to the ground, and his eardrums rang.
"Boss! We have to break through!"
Hal grabbed Saga and made a gesture behind him.
Saga's men immediately launched a counterattack, with several AKM rifles firing simultaneously. Bullets flew wildly through the oil refinery, sparks flying everywhere.
The scene descended into chaos.
Those armed men around who hadn't yet realized what was happening were shot and fell to the ground. Those who hadn't been shot picked up their guns but didn't know who to fire at, not even knowing who the enemy was.
Once the scene descends into chaos, the killing becomes indiscriminate killing; anyone who sees someone firing a gun, even if they are not one of their own, will fire a burst at that person.
There are over a thousand people in the entire refinery, including dozens to hundreds of armed groups from all over Somalia. When they fight, it's like dozens or even hundreds of different factions firing at close range in a small factory area.
"Damn it, that bastard Song Heping..."
Behind a load-bearing pillar in the oil refinery, Saga spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes burning with rage: "We've fallen for his trap! He deliberately lured us here!"
Hal gritted his teeth and said, "Boss, now is not the time to think about this! Abdul has too many men! We have to run!"
Saga snatched an RPG-7 from his subordinate's shoulder and aimed it at the abandoned oil tank where Abdul was hiding.
"boom!"
The explosion sent flames shooting into the sky, and several of Abdul's bodyguards were instantly blown to pieces.
"Kill them all!"
Abdul roared and personally grabbed an RPK light machine gun, firing wildly at Saga's supposed location.
The entire refinery was turned into a battlefield, with bullets flying everywhere and explosions echoing all around.
