I, the wizard, the foolish Buddha.

Chapter 564 The God of Twilight Descends

This is the distant Fifth Foundation. Within this vast foundation lie mountains, rivers, and even oceans.
This place is incredibly vast, and was once considered by the wizards of the East to be the moon.

At the very center of this base stands a magnificent sacred mountain, atop which rises a grand palace of light and shadow. Whenever the church holds important ceremonies, they are conducted here. And on those days, the gods look upon this place and bestow blessings upon all beings.

The legendary Pantheon of Light and Shadow is located here. The Church believes that this temple was once the dwelling place of the gods and that it is the closest place to heaven.

Standing before the sacred monument at the entrance to the temple, Roland looked at the angels flying around the magnificent building and wondered if Brianna had led him to the wrong place.

"Didn't you say that Zoe and the others were in Orbis's secret laboratory researching the Mad God?" Roland asked in a low voice.

“It’s right here,” Brianna said softly. “Olivia and I have been coming here often these days, so we won’t lead you astray.”

At that moment, a group of angels descended from the sky to greet them.

Upon closer inspection, the wings of light behind these angels were formed from some kind of sacred artifact created by the Vatican.

However, they are indeed angels, for they all come from the 'Right Wing of the Celestials of Puri'. They are reincarnated angels personally raised by the Pope.

These people were all familiar with Brianna; before that captain was transferred here, Brianna was his superior.

However, upon hearing that Brianna had come intending to enter the 'Forbidden Library,' the captain hesitated. He stated that visiting the shrine was fine, but permission was required to enter the 'Forbidden Library.'

“I’m sorry, Your Excellency Brianna. It was specifically instructed today that no one may enter without the Pope’s decree.”

Brianna frowned and asked, "Is Olivia inside today?"

The captain said, "Princess Olivia came this morning with a papal decree."

Brianna sighed and said to Roland, "The situation here is indeed somewhat special. Andorra's rule wasn't targeted at anyone. Let's go back first, and I'll bring you here after I get the papal decree."

The two immediately decided to return to the Akagi Monastery.

However, when they used the sacred monument to teleport, they did not arrive at the courtyard of the Akagi Monastery, but at a strange underground palace.

Looking around, the place is incredibly vast and magnificent, like a giant's palace.

The massive stone pillars are carved with intricate patterns, seemingly recording significant mythological events. The painted ceilings appear to come alive, and the recessed niches in the walls house tens of thousands of statues of deities.

The scene here is reminiscent of the Pantheon in the Palace of Light and Shadow, but compared to the radiant Pantheon, the background here is very dark, with a faint, eerie, and somber blue hue.

Moreover, compared to the Pantheon, the statues here all hold a book. Those books are bound by chains of original sin, and judging from the faint divinity emanating from them, these books seem to have been sealed away by the gods themselves.

"The Pantheon? Not the Forbidden Library?" Brianna's eyes widened as she looked at Roland in astonishment. "You weren't behind this, were you?"

Roland also looked puzzled. He said very sincerely, "I was planning to come over secretly tonight, but I didn't plan to come now, much less bring you with me. Besides, it seems like Olivia hasn't left yet."

Brianna: "."

"Could it be Olivia?" Roland asked, somewhat puzzled. "Did she overhear our conversation outside and then secretly twisted the holy monument to bring us here?"

“It’s possible. If it’s not her, it’s Andorra,” Brianna said. “Let’s go take a look at the monument.”

The two walked and talked. Because all the items in the hall were so huge, walking between the giant pillars felt like walking under the feet of a giant redwood tree.

After bypassing the giant pillar, the two saw several figures. Some looked like wizards, others like bookish figures, and still others looked quite strange. Seemingly having detected the pillar of light from which they had teleported, some odd figures, clearly Twilight Wizards, flew towards them. Judging from the faint magical fluctuations emanating from them, they seemed to intend to indiscriminately attack them first, then determine who the intruders were.

Roland and Brianna cursed under their breath, then prepared to unleash their signature magic to prove their identities—appearance and aura might not prove one's identity, but signature magic could.

Just then, a strange, low laugh suddenly echoed through the hall. The sound was like a murmur from the abyss, sounding like many people talking at the same time, extremely chaotic. Just listening to it made one dizzy.

—[“Ha, ha, ha, ha, all of you step back. It is your King of Alaye, Ovilia. Go and receive him.”]
Ordinary people couldn't understand these words at all, because the voice sounded like countless people each saying the same word at the same time, but the Twilight Wizards all understood them.

Roland and Brianna understood as well.

"Father-in-law?!" Roland was greatly excited.

"No wonder it's so tight today," Brianna said excitedly. "So the boss is here."

Everyone working within the Vatican had to be extremely discreet and cautious, fearing that the conservatives would discover their activities and expose them.

After all, the Pope alone cannot control the Church. And even with Olivieri's orders, the Church often outwardly obeys but inwardly disobeys.

Therefore, rats have been constantly trying to trip us up.

But now that the Thousand-Eyed King has arrived, the mice no longer dare to show their faces, because both the Pope and Olivia are 'good people'. They always leave themselves an out when doing things, and are always hesitant and timid.

But the King of a Thousand Eyes is different. He is not just a bad guy; he is the ultimate boss of the world in the eyes of the church!

Even if he killed a group of bishops, or even if he sacrificed and ate the entire population of the Holy City, the Church wouldn't dare utter a sound. Even if it reached the Kingdom of Heaven, they would pretend they didn't see it.

If the wizards' army had remained obediently outside the riverbank and had not yet stormed the Holy Throne, countless people would have dared to stand up and say 'no' to the Thousand-Eyed King.

But that won't happen anymore.

Because the Holy See, which the Church was guarding, has been captured by the World Boss. Their home has been stolen, and their base is gone.

Therefore, the arrival of the Thousand-Eyed King at the Holy Throne signifies that the situation will be completely stabilized, and the wizards will be able to act freely here.

Now, those within the church are no longer concerned with internal strife.

What they were worried about was whether the Thousand-Eyed King would kill them all if he was unhappy.

The collaboration between the conservatives and the King of a Thousand Eyes was undoubtedly a mistake. They could never have imagined that Alaye, Andor, and Olivia would join hands and secretly bring their mortal enemy, the God of Twilight, into the Holy Throne.

And so, the heavens of the Holy See will change overnight.

Now, let alone whether someone will jump out and seek death, even if someone suddenly advocates that the King of a Thousand Eyes ascend to the throne of the world and be baptized in place of Prince Alaye, the Kingdom of Heaven would probably have to reconsider.

Roland never expected his father-in-law to pull such a decisive move, stabilizing the situation so decisively.

With him in this holy seat, the chains binding everyone have been completely broken, and everyone can now unleash their full potential.

'It seems the wizards are planning something big and chaotic outside in the next few days.'

Roland thought to himself, "I'm also planning something big here. Should I tell my father-in-law about this?" (End of Chapter)
